PBC is our go-to whenever we're in Gisborne. The food is always well presented, and there has never been a time when this place failed to meet our expectations. It's busy (no surprises), the cabinet food offers lots of options if the menu doesn't excite you - the selection of sweet treats is impressive, and the barista consistently churns out awesome coffee no matter what time of the day you visit. Today, we had the bacon bene, which is not our normal choice. We usually order the potato jumble. Bene is bene is bene until you have bene at PBC. Next level deliciousness - I may have just discovered my new fave!
Well priced food for the quality, presentation, and flavour. Phenomenal and friendly service for our last minute walk-in party of 9. Ordering is done inside at the till and table cards are given for dine-in orders. We ordered around 9:00 am and had food delivered in about 20 minutes, which was an easy wait to have when seated in the beautiful and spacious courtyard. All food ordered tasted very fresh and was the perfect amount of filling.

Great sunny day out on the terrace, went back with a work colleague, twice in a three day visit. Minor issues with food both days. Day one: bread and dips took quite a while to come, Day two Chicken Caesar didn’t have any dressing. Once these were addressed the food was of a high standard with generous portions. The service was friendly and quick to act when the issues were bought to their attention, also they kept us updated on the process. Great selection on the menu, cabinet food looked fresh and of good quality. Will be back next time I’m in town.
Went for brunch, meal size is very generous and so tasty, loved the hash browns. Presentation was top draw. Was quite busy and there was a 30-40min delay until the food arrived. Having said that though there was a note at the counter explaining that which was appreciated so didn’t mind the wait. Great venue with lots of outdoor seating. Well worth a visit.
Generous portions and delicious food, I had the massive avo and bacon. Very busy and had a 45 minute wait which they told us about before ordering. Friendly staff and quirky building.

Stopped here randomly to settle from the rain and ordered a cup of tea and caramel slice which was delicious. Loved the decor of the place too.
The menu looked good and I would definitely come here to eat again.

Definitely one of the best cafe's in Gisborne. Had the PBC breakfast, it was huge. Eggs perfectly cooked, tasty assortment of usual breakfast stuff. Highly recommend.
Great walk off the street cafe. Wait time was advertised and was worth the 45 min wait. Good service. Cant complain

Passing through Gisborne and came here after reading all the good reviews. We weren’t disappointed! Delicious breakfasts, lovely coffee and great service. Definitely the place to come if you’re after a great breakfast.

Bacon Eggs Benedict on little hash browns was delicious and beautifully presented. Pancakes with roasted banana went down a treat, great to have the maple syrup on the side, even though all the syrup did get eaten. Definitely recommend.
Neat old building with lots of character. Good select of tasty cafe food. Came back for more.
