I ate here with a colleague recently, we were limited by time but the chef produced the most marvelous scrambled eggs on toast in a short space of time and at a very reasonable cost. Well done everyone.
Me and my husband were greeted warmly, a bit of a wait on the food but it was better than average, i liked my snapper with risotto and my husband seemed to have enjoyed his steak sandwich.
Outstanding food and warm atmosphere. Reading some people's reviews I was thinking: Are we talking about the same place? I have been there twice and on both occasions all food was outstanding and tasty ...very innovative, service a bit slow - but to make up for that - real nice and friendly people... on both occasions it was super full - we had to book and therefore you can't expect to have your food within 15 minutes.They serve a mighty breakfast...people reviewing this superb place...should check ...maybe they visited another place!
I love this place, sadly I just moved to the other side of the world and won't be back for a while.
Great staff, even better coffee and food. I love the modern cafe in the country feel. There is so much parking and the locals all seem to be regular customers.
I would be there having a nice foamy caramel hot chocolate right now if I could!

My husband and I have visited this hidden Waikato Gem now for several years and it seems to get better and better. What used to be a great place to stop off down the line, has somehow got even better now that they have the best Allpress coffee we have tasted south of the Bombay's by a significant margin. We now love the fact that they are open on Friday's for dinner especially and have enjoyed incredible food and service every time. On reading some of these reviews, whilst people are entitled to their own opinions, we struggle to believe that those people have dined at the same café. As owners of several eateries over the years we would be proud to produce the quality food and service the Firepot team provide. We hope that if you somehow have had an unacceptable experience that you have passed on your feedback directly to the Firepot so they are aware and can improve for your next visit. My husband who is a chef would always value any feedback good or bad directly as I am sure these guys would also. As far as we are concerned if you want the best coffee, and one of the best meals and café food around this is the place to go! Thanks so much to the Firepot team and look forward to our next visit south.

My partner and I visited the Firepot Cafe in Gordonton after a trip to the garden centre up the road. All we could say was WOW! This place will become a regular for weekend brunch or lazy Sunday lunch. Great selection of cabinet food and an extensive and very tasty looking day menu. I tried the beetroot tart - delicious and extremely good value at $7.50! My better half had a lovely quiche which he also enjoyed immensely. All finished with an excellent espresso. We'll be back! Apparently the Friday night meals are worth booking for.
Like this place, coffee is good but iced chocolate is great. Tried the kumera and chicken salad - only thing is the salad ends up warm and wilted under the warm/hot chicken...Would go back to try something else.
Fantastic breakfast after dropping teenagers off to the Parachute Festival. Great friendly service and excellent food and coffee. Lots of parking space, lots of decor things to look at. Best quiche my mum has ever had (and she is fussy). Fantastic Eggs Benedict with Salmon.
Went there today with the flatmates for a Waitangi Day outting.
Right from the start the staff were friendly, efficient and useful.
Good coffees came out not long after ordering.
Food came out very fast also & was delicious!!
There was a lot of table envy amongst us every different dish we ordered looked good.
Decor was very nice also.

I held my mum's 50th birthday dinner here. The food was amazing!! Big portions which was fantastic. The staff were amazing and so helpful.Reasonable prices. When the food came to the tables it was hot,fresh and so tasty.I can't not say enough on Fire Pot cafe,I will diffidently be returning. So thank you Fire Pot cafe for the enjoyable evening is was great. A++++++
Went here about a month ago when my mum was up from Wellington. Looking to book again and found this web page - nice to be able to review!
We descended with family from Cambridge & Hamilton and had a great night. The age range was from 82 - 3 yrs old and as a mum, with children, it was a lovely meal for me (Salmon) and the children were ecstatic with the goodie bag with activities and treats that came with their meals! Adults were eyeing up the kids desserts.
Staff were attentive without being in our face and they handled the mix of payment options with ease (vouchers, split bill etc)
Will be heading there again in a few weeks so may write it up again! Have popped in for coffee often and they are always lovely and awesome food - this review is about their dinner which apparently is only avail on Fridays...
One of my favourite cafes in Hamilton. And once again they didn't disappoint. Coffee is excellent. Food consistently delicious and their prices are fair. Service friendly and it's exciting to see that they are expanding their premises. One of the things I like the best about Firepot is the wee shop they fill with quirky and interesting things to buy. I usually can't escape without buying something. I will definately be back.
This Cafe is a delight, not only do they serve excellent food with a smile but when I left my wallet behind in the little gift shop a staff member had it returned to me intact via courier. Thanks to her and the person who found it.
We had stopped for breakfast enroute to Napier, it turned out to be delicious and well worth our stop, coffee is excellent too. We will return without a doubt.

A warm welcome, delicious coffee and food. My hubby had the steak sandwich and I had the creamy mushrooms. Fast and friendly service, would definitely recommend this place to stop off at!

Lovely little hidden gem! We got two pat milk flat whites which were yummy and then b+e on toast and creamy mushrooms. The creamy mushrooms were so flavorsome, so delicious! Well done!

Hidden gem in Gordonton! The staff are amazing, helpful, and friendly, and the food is consistently delicious! What more could you ask for? Although every extra thing I ask for, or add to, is never too much of a request and everyone is happy to help.
The coffee is always A++ too!

Excellent. Coffee very tasty. Ginger beer loaf amazing. When I said that we were sharing the piece of loaf they supplied 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 napkins and a knife - excellent service! I would highly recommend this place.
Great spot for a quick lunch. My husband ordered the roast pork ramen noodles and I had the seafood chowder. Both dishes were very tasty and an ample serve. Excellent coffee too.
Lots of free outside-the-door car parking.
On Gordonton Road this is a good place to stop and catch your breath.
Coffee-to-go came wrapped in a napkin which was thoughtful because it made it easy to hold (usually cups are too hot to hold).
There's a lovely selection of art on the walls (for sale) as well as gifty-type trinkets (for self or others).
We had delicious meal here. My husband and I shared the pork belly very enjoyable. Beautifully presented

On a trip to a customer we stopped here for breakfast. There is enough space to park your car. Inside you're welcome by friendly staff. I had a latté and the macadamia golden muesli. Service was quick and the coffee decent. I liked the muesli a lot. In addition to the macadamias it also had some berries and just enough honey crisps to get a good balance. I'll probably have the same next time I stop by.. Others in our group had eggs in toast which with relish. They, too liked their food.
This is a good place for a break when you're heading South or North and you want to bypass Hamilton on the East via Cambridge. For us it was a good opportunity to get a bite to eat before we met our customers.
I'd be happy to change to five stars once they refurbish their toilets. Although it's clean it's quite aged and I think not quite up to the standards the FirePot Café meets otherwise.

Friendly and fast service. Didn’t wait long at all for our food, and when it came, it was presented beautifully and with pride. The meals themselves were delicious, though I do wish they’d removed the bones from their chicken croffle. The chocolate frappe was so good, we ordered one to go!
