We really enjoyed our meal here at Frankie's. The staffs were so lovely and offered good service. We ordered a 550g medium rare Beef fillet to share. The Beef was very tender and of great texture. It went well with the port jus and Dijon mustard. The chips came with the steak were warm and crispy, and Grilled Prawns were yum too! Strawberry Collins were refreshing and the Double Chocolate Brownie was good.

I was quiet happy with my experience at Frankies. Staff was pleasant and as helpful as we asked them to be. Food was well prepared with attention to presentation which I appreciate. The sauces were all incredible and paired very well with the dishes we ordered. The short rib and the carbonara were the favorites. If I “had” to make a critique it would just be that the meat temperatures were a little over done but nothing that ruined the meal.

The lamb was delicious and tender! The photo didn’t do justice to it. It’s the kinda place you wouldn’t notice by walking in front of it.

The best service ever in NZ. Had dinner in Frankie's on 14th April Easter Friday. We were impressed by the service, positive energy provided by a male staff member (unfortunately I didn't get his name, but I know that you will know who I'm talking about: someone like that is a real asset to the business). He definitely sets an example for how great services are supposed to be. Ordered something I usually would not order: NZ green mussels, really enjoyed the meal with a pleasant mood. Dessert: coconut pannacotta is highly recommended. Coconut and passionfruit combined so well. Loved the smooth texture. Great dining experience!

Went with my mother for Christmas lunch. In addition to good food and excellent service from attentive staff, I was particularly pleased that there was plenty of space between tables for my mother to get around with her crutches, as the area was not crammed full of people despite being fully booked. There was another lady there who looked like she appreciated it as well. Also very pleased that even though the iced coffee I ordered wasn't on the menu, they made it happen nywa

Good food and service though the wait was a little on the longer side.

frankie's bar and eatery is probably one of the most underrated hidden gems in wellington, or quite possibly, ever! i think that i speak on behalf of probably every customer who's ever set foot into this place that it is a definite 10/10. me and my boyfriend were browsing through the first table restaurants (amazing website which lets you have 50% off the food bill- you just have to book in advance!!) and decided to try out frankie's- but honestly, i would be happy to come back again and pay the full price. it is so incredibly worth it. the interior of frankie's was gorgeous, with small pops of colour in the cute little cushions and carpet with a contemporary feel, the tables were beautifully set up with perfectly polished cutlery and the lighting was just right! the atmosphere felt sophisticated whilst maintaining a welcoming, comforting vibe- and this i'm JUST talking about the aesthetic here. the staff were lovely and super kind to us, giving us freedom to choose where to sit by and provided an ample amount of time to browse through the menu! they were quick in bringing in plates and water despite having a fair amount of tables to wait tonight- mega props to them!! (as a fellow restaurant hospo worker, i can understand how stressful and difficult it is to wait multiple tables, carrying multiple drinks on a tray etc!!). all of them were super accommodating, sweet and patient, promptly informing us of our questions about the menu- just SUPERB service! and oh my god, and don't even get me started on the food. we ordered the chateaubriand with grilled prawns and the three cheese crumb macaroni cheese, plus a porchetta for me which we ended up sharing between one another because both were just so insanely good. the porchetta was delectably crispy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside and perfectly cooked, the puree just completely complimented the pork and balanced the dish out, the salad was crisp, and seasoning was just perfect. everything about this dish was perfect. definitely coming back for just this dish alone. as for the sides, i'm not much of a mac and cheese person and the prawns were a bit too strong on their seasoning for my taste and slightly dry, but honestly the mains definitely made up for those small nitpicks!! they accidentally overcooked the fillet and so there was a bit of a longer wait time, but a lovely staff member brought over a deli platter on the house, explained the situation and apologised for the situation (which was really kind of you guys! thank you guys so much for that!!! it was very much appreciated and so delicious!!) thank you all for this amazing experience!! i really enjoyed dining here and it was a really lovely way to end my hectic day. generally, i don't really leave reviews for places- in general, whether it be positive or negative- (it'll be rare to see me even rate my ubers! i just close the tab and continue on with my day tbh) but me and my boyfriend just had such a lovely time here tonight that i felt compelled to write a little something for frankie's. i hope you guys have a lovely day and please pass this on to the team for tonight!! i highly recommend this place, a bit expensive but worth every last penny. keep slaying guys <3

As a treat for our family, we like to have Christmas lunch out somewhere different as we don’t often eat out, and so far this has been the best we’ve had to date. The food was excellent, a good range without being overwhelming, friendly and excellent service from the staff, and the setting wasn’t too busy, that there wasn't a long queue for the buffet.

Nice little Bar attached to the Thorndon Hotel. Very amicable polite and accomodating fellows working the bar. Pleasant place to sit and socialise with good company. I’d happily return. Not overcrowded and hurried. I liked it it here.

Amazing food and amazing service. I was stoked with my meal. Had the vegan option of their WOAP burger. It was so delicious, and I had a wonderful G&T too! So good, and a great place for a catch up with a friend. Highly recommend.

We attended this well presented Eatery / bar as a last minute, late evening dinner after work type deal. The gentleman who served us, I should have gotten his name, was full of character and very attentive to our needs, without being overbearing. I had the pork belly and Emily the chicken, we cleared both plates and washed it down with a reasonably priced bottle of wine. Highly recommended for the setting, atmosphere, layout, staff and quality of food. Great job team!
