If you haven't been to Gothenburg then you're missing out on an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious I even enjoyed food I don't like (mushroom ravioli) and the waiter was so much fun and very helpful with the food and drinks menu. I would recommend paying a set price and letting the kitchen send out the dishes, they know exactly how to make diners happy. I can't wait to return!!!
We went for dinner and one of our guests were coeliac and another vegetarian we told them on booking and when we arrived was given a special menu. As each meal came out we were told if it was gluten free or not. Our waiter was very informative and helpful. We enjoyed very much will be back
Amazing food 🍽 great service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ That head chef must really know what hes doing 😉 will definetly be back! Lamp rump, calamari and pork belly are the top 3 picks!
One of the best places to eat in Hamilton! Our favorite by far, even our fussy eater, aged 8 rates gothenburg as the best place to eat in town! Highly recommended!
My wife and I spent Friday 23/03/18 here for our 18th Wedding anniversary. The Service was excellent. The prices We felt well looked after. We chose 5 Tapas to share and the staff were very accommodating with a Dairy free and Gluten Free menu selection. The dishes didn't come out all at once which delighted us as we were able to enjoy each course fresh within 5 mins of finishing the one before. I would definitely recommend Gothenburg Restaurant if you want fine dining without the high prices!!
Excellent service, such a great atmosphere with very friendly staff which was then topped by fantastic food with all exquisite tastes. Seared tuna just melted in your mouth!
Every dish was amazing! Service was great! Even got me my request for more sherbet after dessert
The service is great and the food is heavenly! They were very accommodating with our babies and prams, and they just made the whole experience a breeze. We will be back!! Totally recommend the Pork belly!!
Omg I love this place, I’ve been with just my hubby and a group of friends. Food was amazing even with a vego hubby, location was perfect and the service was friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. Thank you and look forward to coming again next time I’m in NZ!
Had my Hubbies 50th dinner party at the function centre on Friday night ... the staff were superb esp as it was organised 4 days before and nothing was too hard for them. The food of course was as delicious as ever. 10 stars and more
I can't say enough positive about this restaurant. The food was exquisite. The service was simply the best.
First time going to Gothenburg in Hamilton. What a great lunch time dining experience. Mouthwatering, excellent food. Made my birthday extra special. Situated next to the Waikato river, very spacious interior. Made to feel very special. Our new favourite restaurant. Will definitely go again. Recommend the pork belly and crispy chicken dishes. The tapas style is so refreshing. 🍽👌💯
Well well well, Gothenburg it was nice to finally meet you and on valentines day never the less!
The bf and I decided "heck lets blow some cash on a date night out, what have we got to lose!?" Well let me just tell you, we didn't lose at all, we were winners & grinners.
Our lovely server was a kind gentleman who we gave all our decision making power to. We said "give us your best/favourite dishes for $65pp, we also would like to try include a dessert to share too!"
It was fun not knowing what would show up and when it did I thought maybe this waiter and I were kindred souls becuase everything that came was exactly what my stomach and soul wanted.
To start: Beef Tataki, rare seared sirloin, miso mayo, crispy shallots, coriander
Ginger and chili tiger prawns, coriander, fresh lemon, grilled ciabatta
Arancini, mushroom and mozzarella risotto, porcini aioli
Mains: Miso marinated sirloin, mirin glazed vegetables, red wine jus
Spicy Kim Chi and pork dumplings, Octovin, peanuts, spring onions, coriander
Slow braised pork belly, plum and apple puree, wilted greens, red wine jus
Dessert: Dark chocolate fudge, Callebaut Belgian chocolate, blackberry, chocolate ganache, coconut whip, chocolate shards
When I save up enough money, I am coming again!
I was told to come here based on an awesome experience a friend had. A few people have raved about the food as well so I thought I would give it a go. It didn’t disappoint at all!!! I ordered the miso steak followed by the hazelnut creme brûlée. The steak definitely had the taste of Asia and the vegetables were a good accompaniment. Only fault I had was I was given a butter knife to eat the steak.... the creme brûlée was rich and creamy and the addition of crushed nuts added another depth of flavour!! Paid $39 all up which I thought was quite reasonable.
Birthday dinner on a monday. None of us could choose so we went for the chefs special/set menu. Absolutely stunning food. Great wines. Greats beers. Steak tataki was the highlight followed by the dumplings and skargen rora. Missed a few snaps cause food too good
Excellent food, excellent service- what more can I say. Order the Chefs choice an be surprised and delighted. Our party of four ordered the $60 option but could have gone lower in hindsight. Thanks for a great night out.
Rated one of the most popular restaurants in Hamilton, have been there on several occasions. Interesting tapas menu, great location, excellent service. Skagen rora has always been one of my favorites. However, I would avoid to order crispy potatoes next time, as it wasn’t crispy at all, and in fact, it was quite oily and greasy.
Wow I was blown away, what a place to dine in Hamilton. Must book!
We shared a few dishes just to taste them all and I must say each dish was different and brought it’s own unique flavours. The top dish for me was the sirloin, was moreish!!
Service was good and wine was great.
Tapas! Tapas! Tapas!
I love everything about Gothenburg, inspite of it's class, the amazing food was complimented with genuine service.
Tasty, edgy and it came to my mind that I wanted to go back and eat all what they have on the menu's".
In my previous post I have mentioned "food is equivalent to service" which I rate gothenburg 5☆. I will be back and eat more foods and maybe next time I'll enjoy a glass or 2 more drinks.
Try the tapas!
Their foods are to die for!!!!
I went here for lunch with my sister and her new husband. I had heard great things about the place. Mostly about the beautiful location and restaurant design. What I should have been told about was the amazing service I would receive by a Spanish lady ( I hope I got that right. When I told management of her outstanding performance they said she was always amazing. Well done to her!!) But the great experience didn't stop there. The food started to flow out, disappointingly, it did come in drabs. I would have appreciated it if it came together. The is my only gripe. The food was fantastic. Honestly, from the moist pork belly to the crispy chicken and every other lovely dish we had, it was perfect. And yes, the view is nice and it is flash and modern but, the star of the day was our beautiful waitress and the polenta chips!
Was here for a wedding function and ALL the staff were A+ and the food was soooooo incredible- even the vegetarian options were scrumptious!! Will come here for a proper meal for sure
Came here on a Tuesday night for a birthday dinner- was surprisingly busy. The restaurant doesn't have any allocated parking (from what I saw) so had to find a park on the street. Very classy atmosphere inside, with low lighting. The staff were helpful and friendly. Was provided with a special allergens menu listing all the food options as in the regular menu, but with "DF, GF, contains peanuts" etc.
Prompt service after ordering the food. We ate the salmon sashimi, crispy potatoes, Harissa chicken and pork belly which were all delicious and came to less than $100 all up. Enough to feed two people.
Seared Tuna was a bit strange and the skargen prawns were not bad but should be ordered first as the flavour is subtle. The corn special with garlic butter and chilli is amazing, beef tataki was refreshing and colourful.
Kimchi dumplings were nice as well.
Heard good things about this place, so drove down from Auckland for dinner. Place was busy which is a good sign. Nice big open setting, good service. Had a few dishes, Beef Tataki, Fish cakes, Scallops, Dumplings, and the Gnocchi. Loved them all, my favourite would be the Beef Tataki, but all food was great, a couple of drinks and the 5 dishes for 2 of us was 120 dollars or so. Would go back again
We had lunch yesterday and now know why this restaurant is the best in the Waikato. Food superb, service excellent and wonderful surroundings
Mainly to share, Italian styled. Good quality but not cheap either. I would totally recommend the pork belly and beef tataki although these two are a bit fusion. The chips looked nice but we didn't order it.
Lovely service and lovely food. Gothenburg never disappoints. Every visit we have left extremely happy and full!!! The menu is jam packed with yummy options. We have made it our goal to try every single thing on the menu. Keep up the good work team.

Went here this afternoon for a small lunch. It was absolutely delicious! We had the crispy potatoes, edamame beans and their special which was perogi dumplings. All three were very tasty! For dessert I got their chef's creation of peanut butter slice, which was very rich, but if you like peanut butter, it's worth getting. The service was amazing, and being there on a sunny day the view of the river was lovely. The only reason I'd give a 4.5 rating, is for the pricing. It's a bit much which takes it away from being a regular spot for me to go. But completely worth a try!
Well we came, we ate and we didn't catch the clap in the Tron yeeeeeeah! I've heard this is one of the best spots in Hamilton. The venue and location is bloody great (right on the river) first half of the food was great, second half was ok but it's still a great spot to come try, I'd go again for sure!
Stayed a night in the city on the way back to Auckland. Pleasantly surprised to find a place that offers really good food. Ordered the crispy potatoes, pork belly and beef tataki which was beautiful. Ambience was good with a nice view of the river. Service was excellent.
Amazing place. Incredible atmosphere, the decor is just a perfect fit for this restaurant. One of a kind! I would definitely take my mama here and that's saying something! Go and enjoy they're customer service (so much chatter an smiles) and taste some divine tapas as well!
Awesome food, service and ambience. Pays to book if you want a table, but I just ate on the comfy chairs at the bar. Excellent all round. Next time I'll book and try and get a river view!
Absolutely adore Gothenburg, all the meals are amazing. I love the gin soaked Salmon and the arancini balls. The tapas style allows for a massive variety of different meals you can share. I look forward to the meals each time I go back.
Lovely staff, nice atmosphere, okay food. The sauces are what "made" a lot of the dishes for me. The curried mayo with the patatas bravas was delicious; the tomatoey pasata underneath the three cheese arancini the star of that dish. Arancini itself was a little lacking on the cheesiness. Polenta fries took a while to come out although the other dishes came at once. We had almost forgotten about them. Parmesan dipping sauce was nice with the polenta although it definitely overshadowed the other dishes and arancini especially. Odd having the polenta last though as it's something I often order at other places as a starter. Pro: polenta fries were light in texture - different to the dense coarse grain kind. Totally enjoyed the gin soaked salmon and presentation. As you chew you get a slightly different flavour coming through each time; it doesn't all blend into one on the first bite. This totally suits my expectation of how tapas should be and it was by far my favourite.
Overall, the spend at Gothenberg gets quite high quite quickly but it's a nice place to go for special occasions.
What a lovely spot now down in the ANZ building. Sitting outside overlooking the Waikato river. Inside is bright and modern but a little limited in space so outdoors is great. We were just having snacks and coffee but will go back for dinner sometime soon. Hubbies hot chocolate was visually delightful and my coffee well made. Our tempura veggies were so morish.. very light crisp batter...our experiance... lovely spot, lovely staff and good food!
Birthday dinner and the food was amazing. Such beautifully balanced dishes which looked the part as well. First time dining there and defiantly will be back. The only thing that was a slight let down was the service ,no hard feelings but possibly new serving staff who weren't as prepared as they could have been but very nice setting and food to die for.Compliments to the kitchen staff well done
Stopped by Gothenburg on our way through Hamilton and absolutely loved our dinner here. Scallops and ceviche were amazing but my favorite dish was the prawn tacos. Definitely recommend stopping here, it lives up to its stellar rating!
I think this is the first 5.0 review I've given. The place was a little hard to find (attached to the ANZ building and I think Zomato may have the address wrong?) but it is well worth the search. The value is as high as anywhere in Australia or New Zealand I've been yet. The quality of of food is incredible for the price of ~$80NZD for 2 people.
The space is great with a ton of light from floor to high ceiling windows facing the river.
Our waiter was spot on recommending 5 tapas plates for the two of us and and we chose mostly from the seafood section with the asparagus being the only veggie selection. Order included (all recommended):
-prawn tacos
-ceviche
-seared tuna
-scallops
-asparagus
All 5 dishes were incredible and the delivery was perfectly paced. Each had unique, interesting, and well thought out flavors. The craft lager we were recommended was also excellent.
If you're in this town, you must go here.
This is the 2nd time we've visited the place. Good thing we made an early reservation. It was completely full after several minutes from the time we arrived. We've chosen four tapas and a dessert. The flavour of each was so intense that by the time the third plate came, we were almost full. Some were a bit salty, but the over-all experience was really good. The service was excellent. Whoever manages the team is doing an awesome job. The menu offers a lot of choices from vegan to seafood tapas. A variety of wine & cocktails is also available. Definitely a A+ resto.
Cocktail list-good, lots to choose from.
Furniture-comfortable.
Food-great. Lots to choose from, not your standard dishes. More up scale than Hogs Breath
Service-good, managed to be seated considering there was no booking.
Tapa style restaurant (bite size, good for sharing)
Interesting choice of menu
Fusion of asian & european
Great location (just off CBD area)
Love the vibe! Modern romantic!
Above average price range
Fast and friendly service
Perfect for dates (friendly or romantic type)
Amazing food & the new location is lovely. Tapas is such a fun way to eat with friends; this is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Hamilton - look forward to visiting again!
Had dinner at Gothenburg for friends birthday and could not fault it! Friendly and helpful staff served us 10 courses of tapas for our table of 11. Although one course was given to the wrong table by accident, the food was absolutely perfect and the service impeccable.
Fantastic Tapas style menu, absolutely delicious! loved the cocktails available. Great, friendly service. only downfall for us is that we were sat near the back of the restaurant which had no river view, next time we are back we will be sitting outside or requesting a window table :)
Omg!! By far the best eating experience in Hamilton yet. . . Took my partner here for his birthday, not sure wether he would enjoy but needless to say he was absolutely stoked with his suprise dinner venue. Loved the food & the atmosphere was delightful. Highly recommended.
Been here a few times and have never been disappointed! Great service, fantastic beer, amazing food! Yet to try out the new location - looking forward to it!
An absolutely fantastic new location on the river. Staff are great - attentive and friendly. The tapas are beautiful - a fun way to dine with friends or family. Allows you to try things you normally wouldn't order. Only downside on most recent visit was they were out of pork belly and sliders :( Never mind - will be back another day to enjoy!

Nice food friendly service, would be good if there was a little more selection. But it was a really enjoyable evening. I look forward to dinning here again.
the best place to eat in Hamilton by far. Have dined there regularly for years and have never been disappointed. We had our wedding for 60 guests here and every one of them commented on how outstanding the food was. We dined with a group just recently and the accommodating staff suggested we share a mixed ongoing selection of tapas at an approximate cost per head and we all ate plenty and enjoyed a wonderful mix of different dishes. Great ambience, nice outdoor space, and amazing wait staff too..
Dined here for an anniversary dinner with my wife. We found the level of service to be fantastic. The food was brilliant especially the tapas menu. The beverage menu was comprehensive. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
We went for a mini break to Raglan but stayed overnight in Hamilton, so went to Gothenburg for dinner. Had prawns, steak (our favorite), chicken skewers, calamari and avocado pannacotta (excellent) and chips. We returned next day to have some deserts which were also lovely. We had chocolate cake, apple pie and pannacotta which was our favorite. Everything was really tasty and well prepared. My three girls are often pretty fussy but ate everything and are keen to return.
Had dinner here for my boyfriend's birthday. Picked the place for their large selection of Belgian beers and was not disappointed! Tried the beef and duck mains which were beautifully made. Will have to return for the tapas sometime!
We love this place! The food is exquisite the waiters attentive friendly and fun. The food is fantastic, we had one slightly bad dish (over salted) and commented so to our waiter it was immediately removed and replaced with an apology and removed from our bill the replaced dish was perfect, we have been back a number of times since and will continue to and never had a repeat of a poor meal, it was a one off and the way it was dealt with was brilliant, well done Gothenburg see you again soon.
Gothenburg always delivers. Great food, beer and service. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable about the products and the speed of food delivery is freakin' awesome. This place is one of our favourites for all these reasons.
I have eaten twice at Gothenburg Cafe as I travel to Hamilton for business.
The food rocks, we had a selection of tapas including the cheese fondue to start and the pork belly, the pork belly is divine! I have not tasted pork belly as good anywhere else, all the other tapas we ordered were mouth watering also. We shared two desserts which were also beautiful.
I highly recommend Gothenburg Cafe, both times I have eaten here the food, wine and service has been exceptional!
OMG.....loved it. great service, great food, great atmosphere.
Thank your so much Gothenburg for everything. Your staff were awesome, I loved it, thank you so much I'll be back. :)
I love dinning out, and sorry not always for the food, cause I'm so hard to please, vegetarian and small appetite, for me its not about the food....but about the service, atmosphere, ...the waitress was so cute...And I'm a girl...she was good at what she did, Gothenburg thank you for teaching your staff what hospitality is about...It's all I need really, and it's not that hard.
Have eaten there previously, the experience has always been great. Focus is on looking after customers, service is tops but not over the top, food is not mainstream but is intetesting, delicious and varied, so many tapas dishes . Great selection of different beers local and international, reasonable choice of wines, knowledgeable staff, ambiance and atmosphere are intimate but not too private, could not ask for more. Thanks team.
Went here last night with a group of 12 - service was outstanding, no one ever without a drink and water bottles constantly replaced. All the food came out at the same time, and the staff were also very accommodating about the homemade birthday cake brought in :)
The food itself was incredible, we had about half the items on the tapas menu and they were all delicious. Huge range of beers and some very good cocktails.
Wouldn't hesitate to call this the best restaurant in Hamilton right now!
Outstanding. Great food & excellent service. They went the extra mile to accommodate our difficult food requirements, also, they have great beers & know what they are talking about when they recommend different beers for each individual taste preferences. Gig thanx to the team at Gothenburg for a great evening.
Can we complain about service being fast & too efficient?!!
No, Gothenburg is yet another fantastic restaurant Hamilton has too offer.
We did the Tapas & couldn't complain about everything we had was amazing & definitely got the taste buds going.
We will be back!
Wow, one of the nicest 3 course meals we've had. Beer/wine perfectly matched. Great atmosphere, amazing staff. Totally recommend this place, not on the cheaper end of the scale at all, but for an amazing night out! Well done Gothenburg. The first 5 star rating I've given ;)
Gothenburg is the best restaurant in Hamilton hands down!
(and we have tried them all!)
Amazing food and great atmosphere.
We shared a chorizo tapas to start and then followed with the fillet steak for a main. Both courses were creative and delicious, especially the veges which had soaked up the Chorizo sausage flavour. We then finished with the waffles (Spanish style) which topped off the meal perfectly.
The meals are a perfect size and you feel like you have had just enough.
This is what great dining is all about.
The question is how soon can we go back!!!
Went here recently for a friends birthday lunch.Have been here quite a few times and this place is definately a favourite. The food was gorgeous as usual. The only fault I would have is the wait for our dessert. We were the only table left and we waited ages for the dessert to come out.
Had dinner here so many times. I've had lunch too! Never been disappointed or anything. I love the wine list and if you haven't had the strawberry beer it's well worth it.
Good vegetarian choices too!
Hahahaha David I think it is a passionate, witty, waiter as well
I've had dinner here about 5 or so times. Never been disappointed in the slightest. Only problem is narrowing down what tapas to choose, they are all so delicious. Heard good things about the pizzas too. And the staff are great, always so nice and friendly. So nice to sit outside on the couches, under the heaters too!
Visited Gothenburg purely based on the reviews here in MenuMania.. Would have liked to have given them 5 stars as in many ways do they deserve it.
The food was very well cooked and well presented, the quantity of food on the plate was just right. So it did not you leave bloated or hungry after three courses.
Their beer list is impressive at nearly 20 pages and many I have not seen before and some of the fruit beers were quite tasty.
The Restaurant is more in the Cafe stile than restaurant so bit noisy with wooden floors but is very well appointed.
Service is one place that lets them down, it is very disjointed with you being served by just about every waitress/waiter with varying levels of service quantity. Some very exceptional, other not so much.
From a drinks perspective the wine list was very limited with less than one page covering White, Red and Sparkling. But saying that most of the wines listed are/were gold medal winners..
Definitely a favourite. The food, wine, beer and staff are exceptional. We have dined here a number of times and we find that everything we experience is consistently fabulous. The menu changes regularly which is great, however the pork belly is amazing and the cheeseboard is equally great. I have noticed these don't leave the menu but the favours may change which is perfect.
I was on a road trip to Hamilton so we did some research on restaurants before we went. The previous reviews have proven to be so true. This is definitely a 5-star restaurant for me. The service was SUPERB and so were the food.
We had 2 tapas, the seared scallops and the duck with mandarin pancakes. The sauce and scallops just went SO well together, so did the herbs and duck. We had a spiced beef pizza which tasted really good, even for someone like me who usually aren't keen on strong spices. The taste merges well and it was very enjoyable. The restaurant has a huge selection on beer too.
Gothenburg alone makes me want to go to Hamilton again and again and again...
Nice place in Hamilton to relax.. extraordinary outdoor seating area. Good selection of beers, delicious food. Will go back definitely, highly recommend..!!!
Had lunch here last weekend with a friend. We both ordered pizzas (which came with a glass of wine $20). Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and professional. Will definately be going back sometime soon.
Gothenburg comes highly recommended, its fantastic from the service to the amazing food, I was part of a big group & we couldnt have faulted anything (the felafel salad is wonderful as was the Pork Belly apparently)..great for big groups, definitely will re book
Best Pork Belly I have EVER had. Yellow curry Mussels were also stand out.
Plus it's nice to have such a great range of Belgian beer somewhere that also does amazing food. I'll be back. Weekly!
Something a little different; delicious tapas with a European theme alongside tasty pizzas. Some friends and I decided to try Gothenburg for lunch, and were not disappointed! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu without being pushy. The food was fresh, well cooked and nicely presented. The goat cheese pizza and patatas arrugadas were highlights, as were the warmed olives.
I have been back several times and every time been impressed with the food, atmosphere and service. Highly recommended.
We arrived at the restaurant quite late just after 2pm for lunch. The staff was very nice to accommodate us. The service was effortlessly friendly and efficient even though most diners were leaving and thinning out for a change over.
Our first two dish were great especially the Prawns and Scallops Ravioli. The duck confit was a bit dry and the sauce wasn’t that interesting. The pull pork were all deep fried and crispy, I wish there some fresh pork bits for contrasting texture but no, so a bit dry too. There were still something to like about the dish. The wines and cheeses we’re wonderful.
Love the spaciousness of the building. Definitely will come back to try their other dishes when we visit Hamilton again.
Fantastic tapas and very friendly and attentive wait staff. Tapas feel a tad expensive for quantity, but the freshness of the ingredients, flavour and presentation make up for it.
The restaurant itself is nice, perhaps the large room can make it feel a little echoey and loud at times, but it added to the atmosphere and didn't bother me much.
Highly recommend the set menu, had the 80pp and it provided a fantastic variety and I was definitely satisfied and full by the end. Potato gratin was probably my least favorite, quite salty. Everything else exquisite.
10/10 for the service and atmosphere at the Gothenburg Restaurant. The food was delicious especially the crispy polenta chips and pork belly however the kimchi dumplings were a miss. The skin was hard and could not taste much of the kimchi flavour. Overall, highly recommend for a quick lunch! Would love to come back for the dinner menu and service
Best eats in Hamilton with great staff and food. Highly recommend for those who would like great food and a nice atmosphere. Great for group gatherings or date night.
In general we enjoyed the meal. Went for the chefs selection, but were confused when the dishes went in an Asian fusion direction instead of their traditional northern European. Bit of a let down as this wasn't executed as well as the rest of their menu.
One of the few restaurants I’d gladly visit days in a row. The food incredible, and the service, par excellence. After 3 years stuck overseas, dining here again, yet only 2 nights in a row, was an absolute delight. Wish I was in Hamilton a day longer and Michelin visited New Zealand.
Had a great gathering everyone enjoyed the company and food. The stout is excellent!
Finally managed to secure a last minute booking - we generally don’t plan our outings so was hard to get in here but worth the hours drive from Pukekohe.
Beef Tataki and Polenta were our fave dishes! The tataki was insanely good with perfect accompaniments. The polenta - I didn’t know it could be this good!
We also had the duck which was yum. The crudo which was really good with yum flavourings but used snapper which I find very bland. Also got the calamari which was just okay.
Service was awesome and attentive and the ambience was lovely.
The menu seemed quite expensive even compared to Auckland prices but we got 5 dishes, a mocktail and sparkling water for $125 so we’re actually really happy with that and the standard of food matches the prices.
Wow what an amazing meal! Amazing presentation and delicious taste. Staff were very nice too. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to try something new off the menu next time 😊
The food was incredible, we went to eat with my boyfriend and we had a great time: it is a quiet place with a good view of the river. I have to mention the excellent attention of the waitress, I didn't ask her name but I know she is Italian. The warmth and joy with which she attends is something to highlight.
We had the chefs special and really enjoyed the variety and high quality plates. Great beer and wine selection and fantastic atmosphere
The service and food here is amazing. If you are wanting an all round experience I would recommend getting the chefs sets which cost $60/70/80pp, you get a variety of dishes to try out. I have been here a couple of times and it's always a great place to be. There have a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Great place for functions or a special date.
Lovely waitress, lovely food, they even fitted is in a little bit earlier than our booking. Food was delivered quicker than expected, which was great.kung pao chicken was so beautiful, I was blown away as I was not sure about the pickled veggies, but was my favourite! Lovely arancini, and cauliflower was crisp and delicious. Was abit skeptical, bit will definitely go back.
Came here first time to try. From the outside you dont really see signs anywhere on the ANZ building that this place is here. Anyway we got here and was given an hour to eat since we had no booking which was plenty of time. Staff service was attentive and serving of food was quick. We had the crispy cauliflower, chicken kungpow and the market fish tapas. The cauliflower was excellent, fried nicely and pairs very well with the creamy dip sauce they have and the tumeric, also because its fried, it is actually quite filling. The kung pow chicken was definitely a bit of asian fusion mix here. I do prefer the original Kungpow chicken but this one wasn't bad. A lot of flavours so I wish they actually served with some rice as this dish normally pairs with that. The market fish was fried snapper. You get 4 medium pieces of snapper fillet which was cooked very nicely and goes well with the not so overpowering sauce. Only thing about this dish is $39 for 4 average pieces of fish which is quite expensive. However the other 2 dishes was more value and we were quite full at the end due to most of the dishes here are quite strong on flavour. Overall a solid 4.5/5
It was a delightful experience with great ambiance and greater food. We booked well in advance a week before else its usually very busy. We ordered duck, chicken phao , lamb ribs and hand made pasta. The quality was really excellence at par though duck dish quantity was bit small but still ok. The service was superb and we too enjoyed tap raglan beer which was also nice. Will recommend any day.
Amazing lunch dining, friendly and efficient serivce. Highly recommend 👌.
Although might be a good idea to prebook a table
Beautiful food, let the chef choose and eat the best food I have had since being in NZ. €60 for the best 4 courses of food I have had in years. Loved it. Will definitely be back. Staff and great and go above and beyond to help.
Overall a fantastic meal again. The pick for me was the raw fish, a stand out, and you never go wrong with the beef tataki
