Regular for their Sichuan style chicken dumplings for more than 3 years in row.
Loved the food, absolutely awesome. The spicy noodle soups, the spicy dumplings and the Kung pao chicken were brilliant. Will definitely be back to try out other dishes and walk away with a big smile.
Don’t fancy spicy Sichuan food. But this is indeed good. Not too oily and right spice.
Dumplings and pancake are authentic too. Well recommended
Great service and food came promptly. We ordered 2 dishes to share: stir fried pork mince with pickled beans, and braised pork intestines with leak, and were both full by the end. Both had quite traditional flavours and were satisfyingly spicy. They were both a bit salty and oily however.
The Youpo Noodles and Szechuan Wontons are so good! A cheap and cheerful restaurant made even better with BYO option!
Great place for lunch or dinner. Some of the best dumplings in town and great food value. Only thing we could've asked for was less dried chillies in the food.
DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend!! Vege and Vegan options are also delicious! Dandan & Youpou noodles are some of my faves! Awesome service from staff aswell
Busy place and we now know why. Food is amazing and well priced. Friendly staff, quite a cool and clean place. Tried their signature hotpot, so hot and so good! Also the chinese burger and pancake were delicious, couldn’t stop eating them!
Stayed in Hamilton for 3 nights, been to this place for lunch twice, was going to come in again on last night for a late dinner, unfortunately they closed at 9. Food is amazing, if you like spicy food. Not much of a drink list though.
Really quick and efficient service. The staff were kind and friendly and even gave us free sample of dumplings. They were their latest dumplings they had on their menu. So nice of them.
The food was delicious and full of flavour. The noodles were super soft and tasty.
Sichuan style restaurant in Hamilton Central, the place is small but good location. Authentic spicy Chinese food, you can choose the level of spicy. We had the mixed hot pot, spring onion pancake, both are classic Chinese street food, very tasty and good portions. Would recommend to anyone who loves spicy food.
Some of the best dumplings in town! Their Kung Pow Chicken? Was beautiful and also loved how spicy it was! Warning don't ask for something spicy if you really can't handle it because they mean what they say!
I get it delivered and the $2 side of rice is always massive- their signature hotpots are really good too and noodles are perfectly cooked- pretty authentic place as far as I'm aware
This place was buzzing for a Monday lunch. The shop is small but there is enough seats for 30 people.
The noodles were beef spicy oil noodles and they were delicious! Satisfying but not overwhelmingly spicy.
The mapo tofu was okay. Probably should’ve ordered another signature dish.
Over all I really enjoyed the lunch. Service was great too.
Vegeterian at The Chilli House.
The spring onion pancake never ceases to fail.
Youpo noodles (veg) are like delicious pasta.
Vege dumplings are okay.
Not featured here but dan dan noodles vegeterian is also another goodie.
They are pretty nice but gets extremely busy and turns down people regularly (small space). I try to go before 6 if I haven't booked but even if I don't I know there is a risk of being turned down!
This is my Sour and Spicy dumplings in soup 鈡水餃. Distinctive spices giving it the familar tingling sensation 😍. These are on the salty side, which is typical of this specific traditional dish, compared to other hot and spicy soups. In the background is' Spicy beef noodles 香辣牛肉麵. Very delicious with the right amount of heat. Both demolished in 10 minutes 😅. Considering that the place was full at 6pm, I suggest coming early! Gluten free options too (swap for rice noodles).

Cheap price but yummy food. A bit small place but still so many people want to go inside. Food is great, so many chillies on their dishes, if you love spicy food you should definitely try this resto!
My favourite Chinese restaurant in Hamilton. May need to wait during peak hours, but generally I've never waited for too long for a table. Nevertheless it is definitely worth the wait.
Decided to give this place a go after hearing all the hype. I wouldn't say it lived up to the hype but it was still all delicious and the meals were large so large we regretted ordering so much, but that's not a bad thing. staff were friendly.

Really really good Chinese Restaurant.
It’s called the Chilli House but wasn’t too spicy at all.
I believe the level of spicy was set to match the locals who live in Hamilton. They were pretty good spicy.
Mapotofu here was just faaaaaabulous!
Im defs going there for mapo tofu again, it was soo good it made other dishes taste bad.
Noodle tasted good until I had the mapotofu.
Best food, delicious authentic flavours and fast service. Would highly recommend booking a table to ensure you can get in as it can be very busy and full.
Sichuan food is known for having a numbing spice and The Chillie House has brought that spice flavor right over from China. We are so fortunate to have this type of food in Hamilton.
If you enjoy eating spicy food, you will not be let down and if you are weary of spicy foods, the numbing spice might just be your best chance at enjoying the pleasure of eating spicy foods.
Loveeeee Chillie House! Food is always yummy with a good spicy kick!
Ordered a few dishes around the table to share between 4. The fried crab was so delicious. Really enjoyed the Sichuan salmon and prawn wonton 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Would definitely recommend this spot!
Ordered Pork and Chives Dumplings, spicy and sour flat noodle, braised beef brisket and rice. All taste good especially the dumpling. There are chilli oil on table to add on if you prefer more spicy. Our order is definitely too much for 2 of us but it’s tasty so we just take away some leftover brisket.
Recommended restaurant if you are craving for Chinese food and spicy dish.
Amazing little Chinese restaurant. It surprised us with deliciously good food. The fried rice, simple yet tantalizing. Chicken noodles soup was the best we had in Hamilton. The whole experience was mesmerizing with a calm and serene atmosphere. The portions were perfect for the price. Perfect place for the whole family. Our toddler enjoyed the food and the ambience as did we. Highly recommended from me.
Took our family to a farewell dinner for one of our friends. We arrived at the booking time and our table were ready. The atmosphere was quite nice, warmth and welcoming. We ordered dishes for everyone to share, rice with prawns, chicken, spring rolls and spicy tofu. They came pretty fast and we started devouring the food as they arrived. They were all delicious and well distributed. We recommend everyone to book in advance, as it is proved that it is worth a visit. Will come back again soon!
Wonderful flavors plenty of spice and an excellent range of menu items available.
Great Chinese restaurant with good selection of food. Flavour is excellent - not too strong, but subtle. Portion of each dish is generous. Nice ambience and comfortable seating. Keen to revisit.
First up, the food is really good. The service was fairly good. They encourage you to use Uber Eats Dinning In option to order and pay for the meal, which caused a fair amount of confusion and issues among our group of 9. On the good side this enables you to split the bill easily, but on the negative side, you need to navigate the Uber Eats interface for dinning in and apply a special promotion code at the appropriate time. This wasn't helped by the confusing instructions provided but eventually we sorted it and our food arrived quickly. I suspect this is a new experience for them and will improve with practise.
The food was great with a decent atmosphere. I find this restaurant a little bit pricey but I will recommend it if you love Chinese food.
Always wanted to give this restaurant a try, but it was always too crowded. Now that they have relocated to a bigger and a much nicer restaurant, we did finally try it out and what a surprise. This immediately became one of my favourite two restaurants in Hamilton. The food was great, spicy and very filling. The interior of the restaurant was very unique. I would definitely be going back.
Honestly, this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Hamilton CBD. The place is tide and clean, design is modern and cultural from recent renovation. The food is authentic and very tasty. Much much tastier than Si Chuan from around the corner. Plenty choices from the menu and kitchen is fast. Service is good but could be more friendlier and with smiles from all staff. No issues with parking as free CBD 2 hours meter parking at front and nearby streets. The food is mouth watering and price is very reasonable for what you can buy in CBD in general. Highly recomended and they are open most days through Xmas/NY breaks. Expect to queue up during busy hours of the day so booking is highly recomended. First order using Uber app while dining in will get you 20 dollars off of the bill till end of the year. Give it a go, especially if you are from outside Hamilton. Yes, this is better than any Si Chuan style restaurants in Auckland. We are sure to return again as locals.
Huge selection of different types of Thai cooking. Most meals can be made with your choice of either beef, chicken, pawn, tofu or vegetarian which is rare. Dandan noodles were unfortunately a soup. They were a little weak but tasty with added chili sauce. Lychee soda is weak fountain soda. Service is very random with orders coming out slowly one at a time. The steamed vegetarian dumplings were very good. I suspect the dumplings are the best dish here.
Wow Wow Wow 👌 The kai here was divine. My kids and mokos loved the kai, I would definitely go back, Even after eating the Chilli dishes you could still taste the flavor in all the other non Chilli dishes
We were visiting Hamilton for the fathers’ day weekend and decided to stop by chili house because it has so many good reviews on google. We ordered the sour and spicy dumplings in soup, pan fried dumplings, Kung pao chicken, and dry chili oil noodles. They were all so incredible - my family and I happily ate everything even though we ordered much more than recommended for 3 people. We thought it was authentic Sichuan cuisine, and in fact decided to pick up some takeaway for our drive back to Wellington! We will definitely return for the reasonably priced food soon.
My only complaint would be that the restaurant is packed and there are long waiting times for the food, but it’s understandable considering the restaurant’s popularity!
Love this place, always tasty food and fast service. The hot dishes can be quite hot but easy to find food that isn't spicy. Delicious pan fried dumplings and hand made noodles. Great place for a group of friends to order a bunch of different dishes and share them, you'll definitely be full and satisfied
The food was great, good flavours and combinations. We ordered DanDan noodles, Zhong Dumplings and sliced beef with coriander salad, as well as shredded potato burgers and pork burgers, all very yummy, strongly recommended!
