We came here at ~6pm, was pretty full but mostly people coming in for takeaways. It took around 30 mins for our food to come, this is probably due to the shop prioritisinh takeaway orders first as our food only came out when there were none takeaway orders left. Should consider this a factor if you’re planning to have a quick bite. The ‘proper hot’ fried chicken and loaded fries with cheese+gravy was hot and delicious, fried chicken came with a slice of bread, pickles and ranch. Would’ve definitely been a 5 star if it wasn’t for the wait time. All staff were very welcoming and friendly, it was nice and warm inside.

Great customer service, friendly staff and good food. Tried their Wood-Fired Quarter chicken with Mac n cheese balls and twist dust, Poutine, Straight-Cut Fries and the Vegan Fried Shrooms & Vegan Mayo. The highlight were the quarter chicken which was surprisingly moist and well-seasoned and the fried mushrooms were just simply delicious. The poutine was just okay though.

Went to winner winner after a long break from the place. Good to see its still consistently good. The cheese burger is the best in town. Proper hot chicken needs more spice seems to have dulled out since they originally opened. Chips cheese and gravy what more could you want. Pricey but im ok with that

A cool looking place on Grey St.
Casual dining and takeaway, we had the chicken burger and cheese burger with fries.
We tried this on a Saturday and had to come back for takeaway the next day for our travel back to Auckland.

I LOVE IT! We had the mid-winter Christmas for two bundle and it was amazing! The chicken was so tender and great taste, the sides are also very tasty 😋 love the fried mushrooms, so juicy! Also great pricing, very affordable! The staffs are also very friendly. Banoffee was so amazing, highly recommend! I really wish there's a winner winner in Auckland 😂

Enjoyed the basic chicken sandwich and straight cut fries. Delicious, fresh and well worth the price. Staff were professional and efficient. Clean and relaxing environment to dine in. Planning on trying the pies next time 😊

The burgers, mac n cheese and fire-rosted chicken were delicious! But the fried chicken was soaked in oil.

Generally pretty good! Staff have forgotten a couple of things every time I have been hence a 4 star. E.g cutlery, order items. Can be a bit pricey for quality and depends on what you get which may influence whether you like the place or not! Some dishes are great others not so much!

Booked this restaurant for a farewell of our homestay student. Most of us ordered burgers and mine was the veggie one. It was fantastically prepared, tasty and spice as I like it. For all, we order some fries and the salad was superb. Air conditioning inside and fresh air outside. Food came reasonably fast, staff super friendly and efficient. Will come back again!

The roast chicken is so good. Salads were a bit too sweet. Great service and we loved our smores pie we took home too. Just a bit cold and stark to enjoy eating in.

Just dined in here. I was a little concerned at the cost of the burger (white BBQ chicken burger) at first but when it come out I was pleasantly surprised! I squashed it down and took a bite and it was very flavoursome. It doesn’t look it but the burger is quite spicy, but not to the point where you get the spicy sweats; I loved it - you’ll need a drink to go with it. The chicken coating was nice and the burger bun soft. Everything felt fresh! We tried three of the desserts. The sugar cake (not pictured) tasted like a very high end strawberry cheesecake. The Banoffee pie was good, though it did need a little more banana on it, with the caramel base tasting like it was made from condensed milk (which is how it should be done!). Both desserts were easy to slice with a fork, which made them easy to eat. The s’mores tasted like a chocolate brownie with the top looking like pavlova. The chocolate being quite dense made it hard to slice with the fork. In my opinion, I didn’t like this one as much as the first two. All three desserts were not sickly sweet, they balanced very well so all should be able to enjoy it. The staff were polite and friendly and we got our food in under 15 minutes (although it was not busy). I am looking forward to dining here again, next time for dinner!

I ate here with a friend before lockdown and found the pricing decent for the portion size. Service was ok too and wait time was reasonable. The cabinet display was really nice but the tables needed a bit more attention/cleaning.

Driving up Grey street from our motel, Winner Winner grabbed us by its name first, giving us a pause and a chuckle. Dinner was needed and fried chicken suited our group, so looking in at a bustling inviting front we gave it a go. The service was prompt and straightforward, all good for our group. Very clean and well maintained premises. We had a one-piece chicken dinner, cheeseburger and bone broth. The chicken was succulent, pleasing on the plate with its cut and garnish of fried kale, while the cheeseburger was quickly devoured with a PSA given after about how saucy it was! Really pleasing, as was the bone broth which had an excellent balance of seasoning and unusual enough to recommend giving a go to anyone. Definitely tempted by the pies on the counter at the ordering point, the prices were about what you'd expect for this kind of experience. Would return to try other menu items.

This is a great little place for a meal. Very clean and tidy plus the staff are really friendly. The meal was great. Beans in garlic Kumera chips and a half chicken which tasted great. I will definitely be back for another meal.

Great choices for chicken - from salad to, deep fry to chicken burger. The container is a little small to hold the fried chicken.

Went here for my bday brunch. Oh man it was just awesome. I could not fault the food, everything I ordered is in the pictures and it was all absolutely delicious. The staff and service was awesome, they catered well with our large group. Special shout out to the main guy Jay who served us, he was just so good. It's service like that that makes you feel welcome and happy to come back. 5/5 rating, nice one Winner winner.

I have frequented this lovely local over the years and realise only now that I have not reviewed them. This place is just SO GOOD. I love that there is a non-vegan place with vegan options this good in Hamilton (pickings are slim). The first time I dined here I was astonished at how delicious the jack fruit burger was. I have not tried but have heard rave reviews for the vegan chicken burger. The fries are incredible too. They even have dessert! The chocolate peanut butter pie is delicious, almost sickeningly rich, but incredible. In terms of feel, I like the modern, lofty design of the diner and usually they play excellent music.

Hadn't been for a while and the food was just as good as I remembered. Huge burger, juicy sandwich, crunchy as chicken. Gravy and cheese chips with vege sides.. we all had food comas. Perfect. Cheers team

Consistently good food. Set up like a cafe with a slightly awkward to read menu board in a narrow restaurant space, this simple looking place reinvents dishes with a delicious twist. Great selection of salads, desserts and sides. Chicken is their specialty and it’s cooked to perfection. Prices are cheap by cafe standards. Tables are bench style and spill onto the street so on a good day you can enjoy the ambiance that the village of Hamilton east provides. At busy times expect to share a bench table with other diners.
