Went for lunch just after opening, we were the first customers of the day. Service was fast and courteous. We chose a big plate with 8 pork ribs and a Lone Star salad of the day, which was enough for 2 adults and 3 young kids. The meat was very tender, juicy and deliciously prepared. Price is reasonably expected with this level of venue and service provided. Worth coming!
Wow this is my favourite Lone Star, friendly service and the drinks and food came fast, all was fresh and so tasty as always. Lasso of hog for me as always and starved myself for the day so I could have the super tender ribs for starter. The wife always has Praw. Star for a main. I couple cocktails for the wife and as sober driver I sampled some amazing mocktails. Thanks for your great food and smiles
Absolutely FANTASTIC as usual.. warm hearted staff, warm hearty fire and fabulous food!!! We enjoyed the nachos and ribs and burgers and honkey tonk chicken cooked to perfection as usual. Thanks one and all! :) xxx
Again enjoyed the best most reliable meal.. cannot agree with lower scores who say its outdated this place is classic which never goes out of style and the coleslaw is a highlight for me.. we went this time for our anniversary and keep coming back year after year, and multiple branches, 4 in total around the country.. Christchurch before the quake.. Tauranga, Taupo and Hamilton.. for private functions or dates, we know we can trust the staff to deliver a superb meal and atmosphere thats a lil special n reminiscent n rustic.. We LOVE IT!
Lovely meal. Decent size. Dessert was yum.. Service was on point. The only thing wrong, was it was so hot, the air conditioning was not going. We sat at near back.

Went in for a nice family dinner, left completely full, such big meals, kids loved it and food and service was great 😁

Fantastic fathers day dinner - amazing staff and even more amazing food!
Great service and food. We attended my sister-in-law's 50th birthday party there in a private room. With a large gathering the staff were professional and friendly. The food was decent considering the size of our group. We had the mid-year menu for $39.90 and I ordered Rock the Boat for my mains, which was yum!! My husband enjoyed his steak meal. Good atmosphere, perfect venue to hold your private functions.
Spacious dining. Great range of food on the menu. All meals in our large group were tasty and complimented. Delicious food and great service.

One star discounted for the meal prices - over $100 for two meals, two drinks and one kids meal. Pricey and meal sizes reduced from the original Lone star large servings but the same cost. Additional $6.9 for regular servings.
Despite this, we knew the cost and enjoyed our dine in experience. Will visit again when we can afford too.

This place was amazing. I had the Dixie Chicken and the flavor was great; however, it tasted a bit too salty for my liking. Three people at my table had the Jonny Cash Stash and they loved it. One person I was with is vegan and she even found something so tasty on the menu. Customer service was good, not great, but good. I recommend this place.
Dined early to beat the crowds and noise, as partner and I were celebrating a birthday. Lovely waitress, prompt service, excellent meals! Seated near an open fire in a cold night... Nice! Highly recommended menu and dining experience 👌
