Been here a couple of times now, and not been disappointed. There is plenty of indoor seating, and a decent amount of outdoor seating too. The menu is pretty much a standard all day breakfast / lunch style menu, but cooked beautifully. There is also a good kids menu, but with having toddlers who change what they like day to day we find it easiest just to get them chips, and have them eat off our plate. You have to order from the counter, which is standard of a cafe, but their table service is efficient and friendly. Last time we went we were expecting a far longer wait than we had for our food due to the amount of people there, and also we had been told to expect a long wait. There's also a great selection of sweets items for those with a sweet tooth, and the custard squares are a must. They're the best in NZ! This is a must do when in the Hawke's Bay!

Nice service, coffee, and hot drinks were delicious. Promptly served and the world famous in HB custard slice was a generous portion - 2 people shared and lived up to its reputation. Easy parking and easy access.

I went for the world famous custard square, but also had the lamb burger. Both were worth the visit.

An absolutly wonderful bright place. The staff are happy friendly, welcoming. The cabinet food looked awesome & was beautifully presented. They also cater to allergies with food. Nothing was too much trouble. I had a GF Orange melt cookie & a long black. The coffee arrived with a big smile and was piping hot, it tasted amazing🙂 My husband had a large Mocha & Date scone. He said the scone was very light & tasted home made not shop brought. My cookie was melt in your mouth, light & fluffy. I highly recomend this place it has now become my go to place for lunch, coffee date, any excuse really🙂🙂.

Cute cafe with plenty of options to choose from in the menu and cabinet food. I went for the classic egg's bene and it was delicious! Eggs were cooked perfectly and there was a good balance between the eggs, bacon and muffin, with plenty of hollandaise to smoother everything in!

At first I thought this was the same venue as the bar next door, it’s not. It however share the same lovely relaxed atmosphere and great value. Service could have been better but all places like this are short of staff right now so that’s nothing to worry about. A nice place to spend an hour chatting to good friends in the autumn sunshine.
