Fresh, large and tasty! Go with the platter for 2. It was so good I finished it myself. Great variety of all the ways they prepare the mussels. Fried, white wine cream sauce, bbq’d 3 ways, marinated, smoked, and even done in croquettes. Very pleased and happily filled.

Fresh and delicious mussels – the best we've ever had! We prefer the steamed version over the battered one; steaming enhances the freshness and taste. We arrived at 4 pm, which is considered a light meal time. Some menu options were only available during dinner, starting at 5:30 pm.

We had the freshly steamed mussels with cream, garlic and white wine sauce and a calamari dish. Both were very fresh and satisfying. It was not crowded when we went so it was not a long wait. Lots of parking available nearby as well. Worth trying the mussels if you are in Havelock or passing by.

Had a lovely lunch at the Mussel Pot restaurant on Sunday. I was not sure, as I was never a big fan of mussels, but boy, did they surprise me! We had a platter for two, which had mussels cooked in different ways, my favourites were pesto and white wine sauce! The service is up to a high standard, even though we came in right when they opened, and many tables had to be served at the same time, those two girls did an amazing job! Our food was served not long after we placed an order😊 Let's talk dessert! When I say you need to try the Lemon Posset, I mean it is probably the best summer dessert you will ever have! Will come back to this place at every opportunity I have!

A very special seafood restaurant. We were a group of 11 , came from different parts of the world, visited NZ in March 2023,, We had tried many seafood restaurants along our way, this one is one of the best. Their Mussel is so very good, you have to try their Mussel Platter , cooked in different ways. We sat outside at the patio, nice setting, especially when you were surrounded by the grapes , red grapes, green grapes, purple grapes......a very happy experience. Staff are friendly . Hope to visit them again in our next visit to NZ. Like their postcard, you can see the big pot of Mussel is on the roof top.

A lovely place to try the delicious local speciality, the green mussels! I was in the area just after lunch and it was a perfect time as the restaurant was not that busy. The team was nice and attentive.

We drove from Blenheim just to have Mussels at Mussel Pot. They did not disappoint. The food was gorgeous and extremely tasty. We had the Mussel Chowder which was loaded with tons of mussels and mussels platter with a mixture of streamed, pickled, fried, with melted cheese, sweet chili sauce and cream sauce mussels. So delicious 😋. Worth the trip for sure 😋.

Best restaurant of our 5 weeks travelling New Zealand! We made the short trip up here from Blenheim and are so glad we did. Not only did the food taste incredible but the portion sizes were also huge. Our whole experience was excellent with friendly and helpful staff and a lovely garden around the back to sit out in on a nice day. We had the mussels platter for two which had 5 or 6 different styles of cooked mussels. This would have filled us up on its own but we were keen to try the chowder as well which was deliciously rich and creamy. We also managed to squeeze in a dessert between us and would definitely recommend the lemon posset. Do not miss this great experience!

Came here with a friend for a warm dinner after the a cold day, and was met by friendly staff. The restaurant is in a great location right in the centre of town near the marina My friend enjoyed the green mussels in garlic sauce and the Alfredo pasta. I had a veggie pizza that wasn’t too bad
