After hearing many good reviews about this restaurant, last week my partner and I visited this place for the first time. It was worth going.
We ordered veg chilli momos, veg chowmein ,veg tingmo shyapta and darjeeling black tea.
Every bite was tasty. Food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely go back to try jhol momos and thukpa next time.
Owner/manager was super friendly and warm.
This place serves One of the most authentic Nepali food in Auckland. :) never fails to tickle the taste buds. Great quantity and quality.
Although, I’ve noticed that when the main chef and his wife are not around the taste is not maintained by the temporary chefs. But that hasn’t stopped me from going back, as the main chefs are not away for too long anyway!
Highly recommend their - Momos (all kind), and the chicken chilli, goat curry!
What an amazing place!!! After so long we get the authentic flavours of Darjeeling Momo’s 😍😍😍The shafaley was so good I found the Nepalese taste of it in New Zealand!!! The pickles they served with it has got the very local taste which was too good i even can’t describe on my words! The environment was nice and calm with slow smooth music. Oh yes!!! Chowmein was great as well. We really enjoyed the meal. Thank you very much for your great hospitality Dai & Bhauju!!! Will visit soon. And try remaining dishes on our next visit!!!🇳🇵🙏❤️🙂🙂🙂.
Best dumplings ever!! Took me back to my time in India. Momos was recommended from a tik tok video and my friend was telling me about it when he came to visit. Shafaley was my favourite it was the first time I ever tried it and the chutney was to die for 😍 The atmosphere was calm and had nice traditional music placing quietly. Will definitely be a regular customer when in Auckland again.
Great place for Momo lovers. We ordered Chicken Chilli Momo's, Chicken Fried Rice and a Chicken Thali. 5 star for Momo's, it was amazing. But Fried and Thali was not that good. Fried rice was too oily and chicken curry in Thali was tasteless. Also, we had to wait for almost 1 hr for the food to come. Would love to visit again only for Momo's.
Visited Momo junction for lunch today, ample parking around so a big thumbs up. Nice cozy interiors with a friendly staff, so another big plus. The menu is small and simple and they've covered everything important :). Their Momo's were one of the best I've had outside of Darjeeling. The jhol momos was something new; loved the jhol/curry that came along. Impressive chutney/achar to go with momos too...esp the hot chili one. Pork momos were just like they make back home. Pork Shapta with Tingmo was fantastic...Tingmo went well with jhol too haha. Def coming back to try their momos. Hope they add alu dum waiwai and chhyang soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻.
Edit: visited again sometime back. This time tried their chowmein. It was superb as expected. Also ordered Shafaley (fried meat pocket)...bit heavy as they are deep fried. Perfect for a cold winter night or maybe hangover cure :)
Finally tried this place and I am impressed. I tried the steamed chicken momos, pork shaptak and chilli chicken momos. I ate one star as the momos could have been bigger in size and the shaptak could be more spicy as I asked to make them really spicy. Over all it was tasty but so far for me as I live in Manukau. I wish they had a branch in Manukau :)
Amazing food and customer service! My first time trying this cuisine and it was awesome. Definitely recommend to everyone 😁
MUST VISIT PLACE!!
Excellent service and delicious food.. we tried fried momos veg & chicken chilli(a must try), chowmein, momo junction paneer roll and chicken thukpa..the food was freshly made and served hot.. Best authentic taste.. will definitely visit again... owner is very polite and friendly 😊
Just wooow
I will say 5/5
Great hospitality
Amazing food ( my fab chicken fried noodle)
Highly recommended to everyone
💯💯💯💯
Best momos in town. Would highly recommend local dishes especially shapta. Loved the service, happy staff, friendly vibes 😊
Loved the steamed momos. Sauce served with it was delicious and spicy. Great customer service. Had the shafaley which was like a fried Empanada. Very delicious. Also had the Thukpa and great broth
Absolutely amazing place. The food was amazing and flavourful. We celebrated my partner's birthday here and they went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. The owner personally wished my partner twice! We were given complimentary tea which was so lovely of them. Really fantastic place and all in all a perfect night. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Tucked away in Great North Road, Henderson, Momo Junction can be described as a hidden gem. We visited the eatery on a Saturday for an early lunch and were the first and only customers there. The service was great, the restaurant was clean and the food was amazing. It was nice to eat flavours from parts of India that was not the cliche butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Momo’s are the Indian version of dumplings and this place specialises in these beautiful treats. If this restaurant was located in a better location it would get the customers it deserves. Sadly a place like Henderson city does not give this restaurant justice.
Great experience, our first time and the owner was so kind, welcoming and genrerous. Delicious pork momos, but the highlight was chicken thukpa, which are my new favourite noodles and so warm and filling for a wet winter night. Try this place if you want something a little different from the usual Chinese and Indian: Nepalese food will satisfy both cravings, while being its own thing entirely. Would have liked to try some Nepalese teas, too, if they could be added to the menu rather than just soft drinks.
Momo Junction is an almost perfect 5-star rating.
We traveled far from east of Auckland to have authentic Nepalese foods. I think this is the one of the best authentic Nepalese food ever in Auckland. Such a cozy and warm restaurant with amazing staff. The food was authentic and delicious. We were really pleased with all the meals we had there. I would highly recommend everyone to visit at this place. Will definitely be dining here again soon.
Food was really good especially their specialty momos. I like more the spicy one than the jhol (soupy) option. We ate on a Wednesday night and it was not crowded. The staff was friendly and she informed us of the waiting time for the pork momos. We went to Momo Junction because it is included in the Top Metro Cheap Eats 2021. It was worth visiting it and I will definitely come back to try other momos and will even recommend to friends.
The environment was nice and calm with slow smooth music. Nepali Dumplings was truly so good and juicy. Chowmein was great and Shafaley with typical local flavoured pickle was too good. We really enjoyed the meal. Thank you very much for your great hospitality. Will visit soon. 🙏🇳🇵🙏❤️
