Absolutely love this place! Have been many times since its opened and always have a great experience.
Sushi is super fresh and tasty, the curries are some of the best in Auckland (the Massuman is a personal favourite) and the cocktails are devine.
Would definitely recommend the fish sliders and the sweet and sour pork belly, just two of the many highlights on a very well curated menu.
To top it all off, the staff are very friendly and attentive! It seems I’m not the only one who loves this place though, it’s always booked out so make sure to get in early!
Went here with my partner for date night and enjoyed every moment! The restaurant was absolutely humming, but still the service was great. We had some delicious cocktails, and the fish curry an absolute 10/10. Top that off with a donut and you're away laughing. Will definitely visit again soon.

Siamese doll has won my heart. Everything I have ever ordered on the menu has blown my mind, right down to the coconut rice. The staff offer exceptional service always and the atmosphere has you covered for all types of scenarios. From lunch time business meeting to cocktails with friends to romantic dinner date, it won’t let you down.
A hidden gem in hobsonville point. Awesome staff and amazing food. Been twice now for lunch and can't wait to go back to try out the dinner menu.

This place is a hidden gem located by the Hobsonville Point wharf.
Lovely restaurant with a modern look.
Staff are friendly and food came in a resonable time given we were in a big group.
Drinks did take awhile to come considering we were seated right next to the bar.
We ordered a few lamb curry dishes, duck curry, angus beef padseow, dumplings, baos and sashimi platter.
The crowd favourite of the night was the sashimi platter and Angus beef padseow. Full of flavour and generous portion.
The only dishes that needed improvement would be the duck curry & roti, the duck curry literally came with the smallest duck drumstick I have ever seen. And yes you only get one! I was quite surprised considering it was $26. We also ordered coconut rice and roti with it but you just couldn't share one tiny duck leg.. Let alone for it to be enough for one person. Favor was great just the portion size was way too small. The roti was pretty sad.. Probably the worst roti I have ever had ever. Lucky we ordered so much food so none went home still hungry!
Would definitely come back for the Angus beef padseow and sashimi platter.

Staff were quick to the table for service and plates came out in a timely manner, takeaway option was an additional .50c but not the end of the world nice to have the option available for those of us (me) who couldn’t finish her entire meal after such a delightful entree! Food didn't take long to arrive at our table even though the place was booked out. Incredible flavours and great quality food - we all enjoyed our meals.
Wow this place is a gem a little hidden behind other eateries etc on the waterfront at growing Hobsonville Point But well worth walking the extra few yards from the car park ! Everything was top notch from the ambience to the friendly efficient service to the food par excellence! A colouring In sheet with kid’s menu was provided unasked for to occupy my Grandson aged 6.
We 3 adults ordered 3 plates to share and all were scraped clean by the end of a very satisfying and filling meal. 🤗 all delivered promptly and hot.
What did we have ? Well sweet and sour pork belly, curried lamb shank, calamari and a plate of market vegetables makes 4 !
We walked out replete and only $140 lighter in the wallet. We will come again. 🥰
Tried the sashimi plate, beef karubi don and pork buns. All the food was really good and service was excellent. Staff were really helpful in helping us pick menu options that we would enjoy. I think this place is good for individuals or couples (if you're getting one thing each to eat) but is better for groups so you can get a variety of small plates to share. They didn't seem to have a bathroom on site...
Popped in for lunch unexpectedly after going to the Market next door. Friendly staff, child friendly too with kids menu, and delicious fresh food. Also extremely affordable with great prices appropriate for lunch. Will definitely return!
On arrival we were promptly given a table and menu, I ordered the sizzling beef and tempura dish, food was fantastic, I’d have given 5 stars for the food alone, but sadly the wait staff were unorganised and the table we were sitting at slightly sticky, which let the experience down somewhat. This is a very busy and vibrant place, I enjoyed the hustle and bustle vibe of this place, would definitely visit again for the food.
Really gorgeous setting with lots of plants and pillows and cute booths! Ordered the red scallop curry, Tom yum soup, bok Choy with black bean sauce, classic pad Thai, tempura, oxtail curry, green curry, chicken karage and chicken skewers! Super flavorful and really good portions! We ordered roti and a few bowls of rice and were really full! A little on the pricey side for an Asian fusion place but there were proper mains instead of just shared platters which I liked, more of a restaurant! Cool Japanese and Thai mix! But the dishes also stayed authentic to their cultures so we got the flavors we were expecting. Would love to try the pork belly ramen next time.
Lovely venue, nice interior design. The staff were efficient and friendly and came several times to make sure everything was ok. I ordered the belly pork with sweet and sour sauce plus coconut rice. It was very nice, very rich, and a good sized portion. In fact I couldn't quite finish the meal. I had the chicken satay skewers as an entrée which were also good. The prices were very reasonable.
Popped in here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and came out super fast. We had a number of small plates and sides. Service was efficient and friendly. We will be going back to try the mains for sure. My favourite was the chicken satay skewers.
Really delicious food! I had the red duck curry and the meat was so tender! Highly recommend the desserts too. The staff were friendly! Some of the dish portions could be a little small though especially if you're a big eater but portions was fine for me. Would return again to try other dishes!
Great food and service. Went on a very busy Saturday night and the place was full. However, we were attended to quickly and drinks and dishes served promptly by friendly staff. Had chicken and prawn coriander dumpling, salt and pepper squid, green curry chicken, chicken satay, crab fried rice and stir-fried Bok choy between the two of us. Requested to make all dishes spicy and was not disappointed, especially with the crab fried rice. I would recommend ordering a vegetable side as the mains can be light on veges. Would definitely go again.
Back for our second time last night. We got the oyster & salmon rolls, Japanese chicken karaage, pork prawn ginger dumplings, squid, sweet & sour pork, deep fried fish (we had a feast). And for dessert I had the deep fried banana, wow! Absolutely delicious once again. Really comfy seating and nice looking restaurant.
Three of us had dinner tonight. Loved the fit-out and the setting. Lots of staff so service was good We shared the Salmon and oyster roll (3 pieces rolled with cucumber, salmon and an oyster with a yummy creamy sauce in the middle) then we shared the Spring Rolls (nice but just spring rolls) and the dumplings which were divine in a tangy vinegar sauce. For mains we shared from the Japanese grill - Sirloin steak with teriyaki sauce and the deep fried whole fish which was delicious with a yummy asian dipping sauce. We shared the Tempura fried custard (one ball each - also delicious). Drinks-wise we had Botanist Gin with Yuzu tonic (strangely they had none of the advertised NZ brand of gin (Scapegrace)) and a Bellini cocktail which was reasonably priced at $16.00. For three of us with 3 entrees, 3 mains, 1 dessert and a 4 drinks $160. Will definitely return.
Went here with a couple friends for dinner on a weeknight and absolutely loved it! I had the red duck curry and a pork bao (if only my stomach was bigger) which was perfect. Staff are super friendly and attentive and the fit out is beautiful. A great excuse to get out of central Auckland.

This was my second visit to Siamese Doll after visiting about 3-4 weeks earlier, when they hadn’t been open long. Happy to report that any opening jitters seem to have been ironed out. The food was great before and didn’t disappoint tonight either. The servers have definitely lifted their game, which is appreciated. So many yummy dishes on the menu, if you can’t find something you like here, it’s not them...it’s you.
Went there during the coastal walkway opening, it was kinda busy at lunch time...we weren’t being served right away but after given a table, everything else seems 👌. Love the decor of the place, the food is great especially the mango sticky rice as its not easy to find in other Thai restaurant. Definitely revisit when we go to hobsonville.
Went to Siamese Doll last night with my partner and her family and were so amazed by this recent addition to Catalina Bay. Great atmosphere, open plan yet comfortably private, the food was amazing and the staff we're really helpful, prompt and attentive. Would highly recommend if youre seeking an authentic and traditional but modern asian fusion experience.
We had a lovely time here and atmosphere was nice as well. The food was delicious as well. We had the pork hock which was so yummy and tender. Their pad Thai is always perfect! Tuna tataki was divine - still thinking about it.
Service was good but not the best and this is only because the server was just semi attending to us.
There's an interesting assortment of Japanese and Thai dishes and all quite nice.
Staff always refill your water and check up on you to make sure you're all good but you can tell they're just doing their duty and not really trying to be hospitable.
Wow, the aroma on entry, gorgeous ambiance, attentive efficient staff and a set of tasting plates for our group that were divine and exciting to eat. Pure joy and would highly recommend!
Went there for lunch. The food, service, and ambience were all awesome, and the prices were reasonable. The coffee and donut offer is a great deal - both price and quality. Thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. Looking forward to going back sometime.

Met up with girls' friends for dinner, the place is beautiful with a lovely ambiance. Our seating area was perfect for a girly chats and catch up.
I love Larb and theirs is the best I've had so far. We also had Chicken karaage bao and DIY Beef short rib bao it was so much putting it together. Calamari and oysters are equally good.
Our waiter is very knowledgeable of the menu as well as the drinks menu.
I'm looking forward to coming back to try their curries.
On a slight negative though - toilets are smells a bit foul. They need to be disinfected and de-odourised 😔
Went to SD for dinner on a Sunday night thinking it would be quiet, we walked into a electric atmosphere and the food was so delicious. I have been recommending this local eatery to all my friends. Leave room after your meal and Try the freshly made to order donut for dessert! Highly recommend

I’ve been here a few times and always happy with the quality of food and service. Reasonable price to start with. Nice and open modern design. The restaurant is more or less a fusion between Japanese and Thai cuisine. Highly recommend Son in law eggs dish (as captured in the photo) and homemade Coconut ice cream desert. Something new that not many other Thai restaurants offer.
Lovely Asian food and atmosphere. A bit of a shame some of the staff aren't the most welcoming. No smiles or pleasant greetings. Thankfully the food made up for it and our waiter was nice. Had the chicken satay as a starter, followed by the wagu beef pad thai with scotch beef Sizzling platter.
Such a cool place, finally something like this opened in Hobsonville. The staff and the food are amazing. The place is very spacious with a very modern design. We order a salad, fried chicken, tempura prawns, pork skewers and pork buns. Everything was good, but the chicken was amazing! We are definitely coming back.
I loved it here. Great decor, warm & welcoming atmosphere. Staff were friendly & efficient with quick service. The menu is so yummy it was hard to decide so we ordered sharing platters which worked well. Good selection of wines including some local wines which is always good to see. Supporting the community. We will certainly go back to this excellent restaurant/bar.
This restaurant needs another Google star 5 is not enough. Quietly tuck on the Hobsonville Point is this wonderful Japanese restaurant. The food was outstanding. But the service was even better what an enjoyable night. Thanks for the surprise Birthday dessert for my son. Thank You we will definitely come back with others to share this experience.
I don’t know why we did not visit this place earlier. First of all the staff was so lovely and helpful to start with. I reserved a table over the phone and was accepted in soon as we arrived. We went both for the dinner and for the lunch in two seperate occasions. I would say dinner was a blast. We loved all our dishes. It was well cooked and well presented. Would definitely visit this place again. Price was reasonable for the location and quality
Had dinner there last night. Good vibe and service, serving is a little bit slow. Lost one star for papaya salad, too much fish sauce and sugar, lack of herbs. Beef scotch was good too but no top good. Also ordered fried chicken, was pretty good.
Good location, nice ambiance. We ordered the whole fried fish and the red duck curry. The duck curry was good, but the fish was very well cooked. The fish pieces has no bones and goes well with their dipping sauce. Will definitely come again.
