This is a true local kiwi fish and chip shop, the atmosphere is from yesteryear, menu on the wall, high counter and the smell of great fish and chips. Staff were friendly, good sized portion of chips and blue cod was great, but actually everything was great (mussels, spring roll, 1/2 scoop of chips) If you’re after a true kiwi experience and a little bit attitude at the counter definitely head here. Side note; it was full of locals, and for me that’s the best indicator of how good they are.

The best fish and chips we’ve had in New Zealand. Good portions of fish, good batter and the blue cod tasted fresh and meaty. Chips were good but…still not as good as a UK chippie. This seems to be a NZ chippie theme, they’re like McCain oven chips. We took a short walk up the road and ate on the stationary boat, overlooking the sea. Perfect.

Full of locals and that’s how you know it’s good. Had to wait a little but glad this little Chippie was busy on a Friday night. Lovely staff and great food. Grabbed our fish, chips and burger and headed a minute down the road onto the beach to eat. Good stuff.

We started using Dulcis on a weekly basis when we moved here two months ago. 6 orders and each time perfect. If you're looking for a feed like you used to get 30-40 years ago - that real tastey fish and chips - then this is the place. 5 feeds and each one was so yum, chips are very tasty. Thanks for making takeaways something to really look forward to again. P,s, great app for ordering, so easy to use. Regards Wendy

The fish was very good, and the chips were just brilliant, but the service was very blunt and don’t expect a smile.

The best fish and chips you'll ever taste. The hard-working ladies at Dulcie's churn out burgers, whitebait patties and tons of other yummies for the queues of people - locals and tourists - who arrive to collect their paper-wrapped goodies. Grab a can of L&P and eat your fish n chips down at the nearby beach. Kiwi as!

It's great if you loved everything fried! We tried the blue cod, hoki, wedges and fries, and being small eaters, my partner and I could have done without the fries. Not much of a difference between the blue cod and hoki in my opinion, except the texture was finer for the blue cod.

Best fish and chips in town. Love to have them right on the beach.

Yummy fish and chips in Hokitika. Beautiful fish just wished the pieces were bigger. Very fresh and great on the beach watching the sunset. Old school wrapped in newspaper ...loved it.

When you are in a new town, eat where the locals eat. For Hokitika, Dulcie's is obviously a local favourite fish and chips place. The fish is excellent, and fresh. What more would you want ? The only improvement might be that Dulcie might occasionally crack a smile. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Very tasty fish and chips, and the sausage was gorgeous!! Very friendly staff and service. Only let down was the sauces, which, although tasty, were $2.50 per pot despite no price being listed on the board. Could also benefit from vinegar and chippy forks.

This is a hidden take away that only locals regularly use. The fish is we had was lovely and the chips were good and crispy chips. Servi e is very quick to take your order and you always get a smile.
