Quiet place in Howick which is good for a nice Sunday brunch. Food was great and served beautifully. We got the salmon and eggs benedict, the Big stack, and calamari. We were full by the time we finished. Only thing I didn't like was a bland hot chocolate and a dirty table.
If you want to go somewhere quiet and close to the Main Street of Howick. This is it. Great prices. I get the Eggs Benedict. The coffee has a textured taste that shows it has substance and one to remember.
Came here with a groupon voucher so had the big breakfast and salmon eggs Benedict with cappuccinos. The food was pretty good, nothing mind blowing but it was good. Fast service and nice interiors. It was a bit on the pricey side though and the menu is rather limited.
We had breakfast today at a lovely and cosy cafe within UXBRIDGE, the Arts & Culture hub of Howick in East Auckland, NZ. I enjoyed my order of a plate of spicy chicken with wafers. It had a taste of wasabi in the chicken which gave it a nice kick of flavour. The other order was a big breakfast with two fried eggs, a hash brown, two small chorizos, two slices of bacon, half tomato and a few pieces of mushrooms. Nothing special in that dish which cost $22 which is a bit on the high side.
Have been to this restaurant in its old location several times.Thought to try the new location..Ita mainly a cafe style restaurant and gets cold on a cold evening if you are seated by the glass .Service was ok as there was only one waitress serving 7 tables...Entree s were the lamb kabab which was apicey and very tasty and the nutter chicken taco was spicey too but had wonderful flavours.Mains were the fish of the day which was hapuka..Not many flavours on this dish which i was expecting, came with stir fried carrots and brussel sprouts and a tamaotoe sala but it all just lavked the exciting flavours from the entrees..The slow cooked lab was very nice and had curry base with yoghurt. This was a very nice dish
.Finally desserts were gulab jamun cheese cake, bit confused if this was a deconstructed cheesecake and was overly sweet. The mango parfait was tasty with the freez dried berries..Overall ok meal with a fusion on indian flavours.
This is something different!
If you looking for a change from a usual - this is the place to go to!
Just the atmosphere here is relaxing without the food.
But get some coffee and appetite will come!
I took my three grandchildren aged 3,5 and 8 to see the Bubble Show. He was captivating! The children focused for an hour, no wriggling, laughed and clapped and were thoroughly entertained. I would recommend this show to families!
Attended the beginners' pottery class for five lessons and it was a lovely experience. Our teacher explained as best as he could and he also has an amazing background with pottery. He helped out with my almost disastrous looking pottery 😅 but I managed to make a few that looked alright. The wait for firing the pottery wasnt too long either around 5 days. Will definitely think about attending other classes or continuing practicing pottery.
I attended Making Modern Miniatures with Cheryl.
She is such a lovely tutor, very patient and explained all the steps very clearly.
I'd be happy to attend another workshop with her.
I'm so happy with my final creations too.
We liked the clay workshop, we had fun making different ornaments, my favourite is making bowl on the pottery wheel. The teachers were perfect, they were nice, funny and enthusiastic. The facility were great 👍.
Really enjoyed the acrylic paint pouring workshop last weekend. We all created two unique pieces and received in depth info on materials etc that work best, so we could give it a go at home too. The instructor
was welcoming and very helpful. Relaxed atmosphere in a spacious workshop room with lots of art on the wall to admire, great workshop location!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Travel Journaling with Watercolour class. Elise is a wonderful teacher. She demonstrates techniques clearly and gives guidance on how to achieve what you're trying to create. We went outside the studio and she demonstrated how to choose the subject, sketch it and paint it. We then did the same. The class was fun, informative and I left with a painting I was really proud of.
Workshop - The Art of Bonsai 28/10/23
The venue at Uxbridge was well suited to the activities in this session. Our great tutors, Angela and Milan, imparted their vast knowledge with patience and humour, making the afternoon fun as well as productive. We all went home with our own little 'bonsai' - and - no doubt - the enthusiasm to create more. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop. Awesome!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Making Miniatures Workshop. Cheryl was a very patient and informative tutor and I came away feeling inspired. Cheryl is obviously passionate about her craft and brought in some impressive examples of her work to show us. If you have any interest in miniatures, or crafting in general, I would highly recommend this class.
I had a great time on the linocut printmaking course. It was a really relaxing way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Siobhan was a great teacher, supportive of our ideas, encouraging us to trust the process, and gave lots of useful info if we want to start printing at home. The workshop studios are great, and Uxbridge is a place I'd like to visit again. I will be looking out for more courses there in the future!
My friend and I absolutely loved attending the leadlighting workshop! Neil was the most fun, helpful, and patient teacher ever! Thanks to him, and the course providing all the materials, we all went home with super cute pieces! We are already planning new courses to attend, to make and learn more cool stuff! :)
