Unbelievably great food and lattes! They put a piece of fudge with your latte to drop in your latte, Yum! The omelette was so fluffy, it was a slice of heaven! The pancakes with fresh, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and whipped cream with a light syrup was amazing! We would fly halfway around the world to come back to this restaurant! After the happy episode of good food + wine at Saint Clair, we drove to Kaikoura to stay for the night as we have whale watching tour the next morning. Alas! The luck was not with us this time as it was raining heavily with strong wind when we woke up the next morning. The plan was to have breakfast at Fluke Cafe before going for the tour but we were informed by the agency that all tours were cancelled for the day. A bit disappointed - yes - but I wanted to keep the mood up so I looked for a good breakfast spot. We reached Food Company Kaikoura still raining but the food as comforting and good too! ◾Mac & cheese with bacon ◾Corn fritters with extra streaky bacon ◾Scrambled egg, avocado on toast ◾Fluffy omelette with ham, cherry tomato and herbs, with toast on the side Our mood was instantly lifted by the warm breakfast considering the cold and rainy day outside. We continued our journey to Christchurch after that.

Stopped in here going up and down the island, the staff are always warm and inviting (mother/daughter behind the counter) and the food is quick and ample, make sure you stop by the fudge cabinet on the way out as my wife does

A huge 5 stars don't do this place justice. Mouthwatering, well presented, truly great food at a very reasonable price. Truly, set the other stops aside and call in. This is a stop you have to make. Memorable & impressive.

Stopped for a quick bite before heading out for the day, service was fast & friendly. Food was good. Picked up some fudge while we were there which was so nice, we went back the next day to stock up on more for our road trip - which will probably be a routine now every time we're passing.

We've eaten here often now and always have a lovely time. Excellent breakfast and coffee. Great roasted sandwiches and excellent croissants. Friendly staff. Nice setting and overall a very good all round place. Awesome fudge too. Neapolitan is the BEST and creme brulee flavour fudge is too cool. Well done guys. keep it up!

What a find! Great ambience, spacious, not in the town centre (big plus, and easier parking). Fantastic coffee, great cafe style food, excellent home made food. Simple touches like fresh flowers and warmed plates under hot food.

Second visit to The Food Company Kaikoura, first was a breakfast engagement back in 2016. This time we broke up our Picton to Christchurch trip with a late lunch visit at TFC. Neither of us felt like a large meal so told the lady serving we'd be sharing one. This wasn't a problem and the chef even broke the fish up into four small portions so we could enjoy two pieces each. Succulent blue cod battered and cooked to perfection. Long crisp chips with a good salad. Very delicious. We'd eaten just as they were finishing up and made us feel most welcome by saying not to hurry as they would be tidying up and doing prep for the next day. A very enjoyable visit, thanks guys.

Good value. We had the fish chowder, salad and fries with 2 very large flat whites. Well presented and tasty. Good service quantities were adequate.

100% recommend this cafe. They were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. It almost had a family vibe! Great place for kids. They took extra care preparing my food when I told them I was pregnant. So helpful!
