Stopped to grab a takeaway on the way to Paihia and, hot dang, their steak and jalapeno pie is A.W.E.S.O.M.E ! What a fantastic idea to infuse standard beef steak pie with the mild heat of Jalapeno! It's surely the best beef pie i have had in NZ to date. You may not agree but that's ok - i'll quote

Great service, very friendly. :) The fried bread with the kiwi breakfast was an absolute delicacy! And the loaded wedges were well and truly loaded. A nice change to not have to ask for extra sour cream. Haha. The coffee is actually not too bad either for those who like to get a coffee when out.
What a wonderful find your cafe was. The best service, the best staff and beautiful fresh home cooked food, we will be back Absolutely fantastic
Potato Wedges with Bacon & Soar Cream. I have never had so much bacon with my wedges and soar cream. I only just managed to get through. A very generous portion.

Stopped here for lunch on the way from Okaihau to Tauranga and very pleased we did. Delicious food and a huge selection of hot or cold plus a perfect flat white. Super friendly staff made it a great place to "fuel up".
Delicious cheese scones and savoury muffins were had. Good coffee and hot chocolate too. Handy location to watch the passersby before continuing a journey.
Eggs bene and hash sticks were both excellent!
