Awesome curries, great naans and good service.. One of the best Indian restaurant in Auckland especially in west. Doesnt looks big from outside, but has lots of space inside. Quick food delivery is another plus point here.

Best curries for miles. Go for the Handi Meat/Indian Butter Chicken/Saagwala and Garlic Naan. Get a menu and put it on your fridge and order from it often because this place deserves to be busier than it is.
First time diners on a Thursday evening saw the $17.99 meal deal. Only diners in the place but a very brisk takeaway service. I took the $17.99 deal and was well pleased with the beef masala (portion size) naan and lemonade! Wife ordered a mixed platter for her main and well chuffed with the mix, portion size and quality as well. Ordered a onion bhaji based on a previous review it was outstanding for the price and could delight 3 - 4 diners! Female waiter (owner) was polite and answered questions around corkage, food meanings and other general questions you ask to get a feel of the place so as to feel welcome and informed on a return if liked. Service great, food excellent, cost very reasonable. - been to a number of Indian establishments out West and this is the best so far - a nice little local secret.
If you are tight on pocket and looking for the good food this place will do the right justice. Great taste and good service always. Will surely recommend this place.
The lady that served me was so polite she even gave free nann bread and also went out of her way to give our food out into the carpark such a lovely lady, and the food was awesome!. for there price it was definitely worth it HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Consistent food every time we’ve ordered from here. The staff is friendly. Only the wait for a take away order is longer than when you’re dining out there. A great Place for Indian food!
We were visiting Kelston just before Christmas and came to Royal Challenge for dinner. The lamb saag was tender and creamy and the chicken tika masala was spicy and juicy. Excellent garlic naan. Our girls enjoyed the children's menu. The staff were warm and attentive and took the time to explain the meaning of the Bollywood song I asked about. Very enjoyable.

Great value, tasty food! Always order the Onion Bhaji, although it could be crispier. Great vege curries esp the Dhal. Great option for those in Kelston/New Lynn

My local for getting Indian takeaway. I've been ordering online but my first time getting it delivered tonight. This place is definitely underrated!!! Always need my dose of Royal Challenge every couple of weeks.
They serve nice curry, real succulent meat and sauce. Their butter chicken is nice, not too sweet or creamy. Love their nun bread fresh and melts in mouth. I like coming here if I'm not in the mood going to the mall. Average place not too exquisite.
We get food delivered from here quite a bit. Its always delivered on time. Everyone is happy with the food. I love the Saag chicken and butter naans.
We tried Indian style chili chicken and goat curry yesterday as takeaway. The chili chicken couldn't be any better than this. The goat curry was great too. However, there were no goat pieces from leg or loin cut. We got most pieces from the rack.

We go to this place for Indo-Chinese and authentic Indian flavour of Butter chicken. Friendly owner operator do their best to ensure overall dining experience . Please note that they serve butter chicken in two flavours - kiwi and Indian. For real taste of Indian butter chicken try the Indian flavour and get it prepared to suit your taste bud. We preference hot and they make it best.
Food was tasty and service was fast and friendly! I like that there are two different styles of butter chicken, the Indian style is a lot better as it is not too creamy and the spices give it a great taste! Free delivery when you spend $30+ on menulog is a great bonus too!! Will be back!
I've eaten here on at least 4 occasions. The food is always excellent and the service is good. I've tried their fish curries and they are delicious. Parking just outside is also a bonus.
Yum yum yum love this place excellent food excellent service every time . Best place to enjoy a quiet dinner with the family. If you want good indian food go to royal challenge its a must eat there.

We visited Royal Challenge and both times had the butter chicken which was excellent. The naan bread and rice were both prepared perfectly. We look forward to trying many other dishes on their menu on our next visit.
I heard good things about this place so we decided to stop by on a Friday night. I ordered the chicken fried rice and my fiance ordered the chicken tikka starters. My rice was cooked exceptionally well and it wasn't oily or over seasoned which I've experienced elsewhere. The chicken tikka was neatly served on a hot plate and was very tender. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service was friendly despite us coming late.
I look forward to taking my friends here.

First time here for lunch a few days ago. Not planned, by chance. Just ordered the Lunch Special ie any curry comes with rice & 1 naan bread. For curry we picked the Chicken Masala. We are not disappointed at all that we made our lunch stop at Royal Challenge.
The food was tasty and well done. The place was clean. We were happy with the service. No parking problem.
You must give it a try if you love Indian curry!
My wife and I had a meal there this evening. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants both here and in India. The food was the best Indian food that I have ever eaten. In particular the paneer was soft with a pleasant flavour (I could not identify the particular type) and presumably coloured with turmeric. The naan with nuts was sweet and perfectly cooked. I had mattar aloo while my wife had a chicken dish. Both cooked very well. And of course I just had to have Kingfisher beer, brewed I think in NZ but under the name of the Malya family who have the brewery in India.We will be eating there again, definitely!
Tried the butter chicken, vindaloo and korma and was very pleased. Every dish was delicious and I must say that I haven't had Indian food that good anywhere else in Auckland. I'll be returning soon hungry for more!!!
We always order Chicken Kadai if it's on the menu and this one did not disappoint. Juicy flavorsome chicken with fresh capsicum and coriander and when you order hot that's what you get! Lamb was delicious too and the curries taste bright and wholesome. Fast home delivery with friendly service and really great prices, we would definitely pay more! Happy to have found out new local Indian joint.
