First time here and the food is super yummy! Clearly over ordered but we didn’t care, we got to enjoy the left overs lol
We ordered the wontons, salt & pepper squid, salt& pepper fried chicken, chicken pork buns, bbq pork pork buns, bean sesame balls, pork dumplings and the deep fried Siu mai (combination of prawn & pork) - all delicious and fresh! You can pretty much get all of this at any Chinese restaurant except the flavours and portions here I rate pretty highly due to the fact that the food wasn’t greasy, the portions are big enough to feed two or even three people, the pork bun ratio to meat was 10/10, the sesame balls are kind of sweet and the dumplings weren’t too hot which is a bonus when biting into dumplings lol
We only wish the place was closer to Onehunga so we could go more often but the drive is definitely worth it!
We had zomato gold and used it for 2 main dishes portions were large still abd had takeaways also for another meal. Mongolian lamb and long bean sambal were great!
There’s not much real Chinese in the area, only this and Hong Ka. Both are good but this is the “yum cha” type food and Hong Ka is the “BBQ and noodles” place. They seem fairly new and pokies support them, but in 6 months I’ve seen the average patronage increase a bit so maybe they will be able to ditch the pokies for more tables some day. Show your support if you want good Chinese food in the area.
A nice restaurant in Glen Eden. Good portion meals and cheaply priced.
They offer a small range of yum char dishes. The pork spare rib was a little tough, but the chicken feet was delicious.
We ordered the seafood tofu soup, Singapore fried vermicelli, dry fried round bean and dry fried rice noodle with beef as the main dish. All were quite flavorsome.

Went here a couple of days ago and we were stoked to find somewhere great to get food in Glen Eden for when we are craving Chinese. Out of the food that we ordered, we loved the Sizzling Chilli Chicken and would go back just for this with the BBQ Pork fried rice!
Don’t think we will order the pork buns and the Dim Sum combination next time as the they were not our favourite although the prawn dumplings in the Dim Sum Combo were great!

Very nice fried rice and deep fried salt pepper dishes but dishes were generally overly salty and too much msg. Were thirsty after meal. However authentic canton skill and we will go back again.
We got a Grab One voucher for this place - $25 for 5 dim sum plates. We were actually super impressed! All of the food were promptly delivered and well cooked, with nice oils and seasonings where applicable. I’ve been to a few very average dim sum places, and I would definitely call this place above average. Plus my beer was only $7. I’d happily pay full price for the food, the Grab One deal is a real steal though. Give it a shot!
Nice food, good staff and cheap drinks. Parking available out front and also along the the street. Quite liked their BBQ Pork, Pork Buns and Prawn on toast. Would definitely go back and try something else on their Menu, worth checking out their lunch specials too.
Awesome food and nice service! It was a good place to have a dinner with family. We really enjoyed the dishes we ordered; Dim-sums, fried rice and Chicken Laksa noddle.
Good value, yum cha and Chinese food . Good serving size. No real atmosphere here and basic service. There are pokies on site so people come on go just for that.
Amazing food , worth a visit more than once . I have almost made my way through the whole menu and have not been disappointed once. My personal favourite is the sizzling seafood platter , very generous , ample seafood ,
This place also double up as a gambling machine lounge as well as a Cantonese theme diner, in which i ate a won hon noodle soup and corianda prawn dumplings too.
One may need to wait for service as the hostess manning the counter also has to act as a cashier for the punters as well.

The Dimsum here is very nice and the atmosphere is not as busy compared to the central city locations.
However the other menu items are over priced and small in portion sizes.
The cashew chicken stirfry was $20 takeaway and what we got was a half-full container. Rice was extra charge on top of this. Plate of bakchoi veges was $15 which is alot for such a cheap dish to prepare of only one type of vege.
So althoigh quite nice, its not very good value for the money you spend which if they can improve will have a much better return long-term for thier business as customers appreciate value significantly especially in the Kelston/Gleneden demographic the are in.
Best squid ever..quick and fast and they are friendly all the time especially kareoki night...will always go there as its excellent and consistant when our family goes there..

First time I came to this restaurant was for my cousin Lily Wharerau Witika's wedding.
The way it was set up and displayed was absolutely amazing..
The food was DELICIOUS, I especially enjoyed the Pork Belly, it was cooked to perfection and I wish I had of eaten so much more! Lol
Also, the hosts were friendly and provided a comfortable environment.
I would totally recommend this restaurant whether it be to dine in or have any sort of function hosted here.

We've been coming here since it opened and the food has always been absolutely amazing! The staff are awesome very helpful and always cheerful, so polite is the word.... We also had our wedding here 25/02/17 they catered to all our needs absolutely spectacular a day we will never forget everything was perfect The FOOD The STAFF The VENUE both our familys enjoyed it very much and have all said it is a wedding never to forget... I highly recommend this place to everybody if you would like a pivate function, a romantic dinner or even a quiet meal this is definitely the place to go. I guarantee you wont regret it. All foods are highly recommended but our family favourites are the Chicken Teriyaki and Bbq Pork on Rice..
It's great to have a good quality Chinese restaurant in Kelston. The Dim Sum are great and have been consistent, every time we've ordered them. The manager is very friendly and goes out of his way to welcome his guests and put them at their ease.
we came here here for a little team bonding lunch and drinks...food was absolutely yummy..service was excellent and the setting was so relaxing...we had crispy chilli chicken,fish,steamed prawn dumplings,pan fried pork dumplings,prawn and bbq ppork fried rice,bbq pork with sauce and my fave crispy skin chicken which was crispy skin and moist as inside...im a little picky with food and can be the worse critic but i give Aroha a 5+ overall rating....highly recommend to everyone looking for that go to place for yummy food excellent customer service with that relaxing ambience..

The food is really great, and it tends to come out pretty quickly. Particular highlights for me are the prawn toast entree, perfectly cooked fish with ginger and spring onion and really tasty fried rice (it's a step above your usual takeaway fare). Parking is easy as well (so long as the nearby gym isn't too busy)
Great service, the waitress was very attentive, awesome vibe too. They have the best sweet and sour in town in my opinion. Chips were a little burnt but nevertheless well worth a visit.

Love their squid the most，probably the best in Auckland ！They do Yumcha and taste exactly the same as those Dimsum served in HK & Guangdong （places in China do the best Dimsum ever）and that's where their chefs come from. If u guys fond of Yumcha，u can try，especially BBQ Pork buns/ Pan fried pork dumplings/ Chicken feets and different kinds of Prawn dumplings. If u like meat，BBQ Meat combo is highly recommended. sth on rice come with rice，otherwise u got to order spare plain rice but that's OK. Or u can order different dishes with fried noodles or fried rice might be a better choice. Dry fried rice noodles with beef is very famous by the way. They also hv noodles soup as well. With plenty choices that couldn't be able to try them all at one time，it's a nice restaurant deserve to be much better known and keep returning back from time to time as they change LUNCH SPECIAL every month with resonable price. They don't hv many staffs But each of them got nice personality and can remember most regulars' names and always give customers warm greetings which is amazing，feels like seeing old friends the moment i walk in.

I have now been to Aroha twice for lunch and have been so impressed with the quality of the food that i felt compelled to write my first online review. The sweet and sour pork was to die for, coupled with the sizzling beef and black bean, served efficiently and with a smile, i will definitely be back for more!! You need to try this suburban jewel in west auckland...
Amazing service. Great tasty food. I had the seafood fried egg noodle dish which had big fresh prawns, fresh fish, mussels, squid and more. Very tasty! my partner had wonton soup which can sometimes have a bland stock but the soup was very tasty and the wontons were perfect. We also tried the fried calamari which was spicy (be warned) but perfect to my taste, and definitely not chewy, perfectly cooked. Spent $83 and had 6 dishes, massively good value. Thanks for a great experience and we wish you all the best for your restaurant. Will definitely return.
Had lunch and also dinner sometime ago. The restaurant is new. It's clean. Service was good, friendly and personal. The food was served pretty quickly. The taste was generally acceptable and the price is normal. As for the ice cream ball, the skin was a bit thick and chewy. If you like the soft type of skin, then this is not recommended. But again if you try it, you may like it, who knows. Oh yes, the restaurant also serve dim sum.
So if you like a taste of Malaysian, you may like to give it a try.

It is absolutely delicious food, very good service. My friends and is went there, ordered the entree of fried squid, yum cha dumpling and chicken feet. So good, my friends also had Malysia fried noodles, shredder duck on rice noodle soup. All my friends are so satisfied with food and service. We definitely come back next time. And food came out fast, and service they provided in the table is very nice.

Absolutely beautiful food, great service, great prices. This restaurant won't stay a secret for very long with delicious food like this. We ordered the entrees squid - devine, satay chicken - yum, dim sum was scummy for mains my husband had Malaysian lamb curry and I had the beef with rice noodle. They were all great meals and we went home happy and definitely satisfied. We will be back, check out the pics.
Service was friendly, food was delicious and quick, can't praise it highly enough. There are main size plates of food and smaller dim sum.
Husband and I shared sizzling lamb, salt & pepper squid, prawn toast (my personal favourite), deep fried shiu Mai, Westlake beef soup. There is also a bar. Can't believe it wasn't busier, will definitely be back. Sorry wed eaten some of the food before we took a picture!
First time dining here. Usually come for the poker machines. Food was very good. Very impressed at the quick service. Recommend to try the young chow fried rice. That was onnnn..... roast pork was average, BBQ on rice was very good.
Really great portion sizes for the food but the flavours tasted watered down. When I asked for some sauce for the mini spring rolls the server looked angry and pointed to the sauce station like I should have known where it was.

I have Dined In for lunch, diner and had Take Out. I very much like the crispy Deep Fried Wontons, Pan Fried Dumplings with Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken for lunch with my friend. Another time we also had Dumpling Soup and steamed Dumplings.
I have dined in a few times with my family for diner. The take out has been a great way to have yummy food when you don't have time to cook. My favourite is Beef, Rice and steamed vegies. Because I can't have Chilli I always ask them to not put Chilli in my food which makes for a very delicious meal. I have been going for the past 5 years. I find the staff very welcoming and friendly.
Dined here for my daughter's birthday and the food was fantastic. Love their service. The staff were really awesome and helpful. Definitely recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

Great selection good value for money, excellent food. Wait staff struggled to provide table service as restaurant was too busy but once I ordered at the bar the food arrived within minutes. We will definitely be back.
Good fresh food delivered ridiculously fast. Quantities were generous. Had stirfried beef and fish mains. Both very tender. Vegetables were colourful but tended to be a bit undercooked and crunchy. Sesame balls were top notch.
Don't be put off about this place people. This is a hidden gem. Food here is super fresh and cooked really well. The atmosphere is quiet and there isn't a lot of people dining here (which is a shame) so no need to book in advance.
At least try the place. You'll be happy you did!
