Few more days to enjoy that Auckland summer heat and as we head into Autumn lets reminisce what summer had offered us. Summers for Kiwi’s are synonymous to barbecues, beaches, music festivals, Pohutukawa trees, hiking and real fruit ice creams. Although summer came late this year (usually it gets hot in November and December, the real summer came around January) we still did enjoyed that a lot, which means we did all the activities mentioned above in a compressed number of days and luckily summer sun here in New Zealand starts at 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM at night.

Me, my mom and my sister grabbed the real fruit ice creams here a couple weekends back and were so happy with them. The service is so cute and friendly and there's a cute little seating area out back. This place is located right on the highway but surprisingly isn't that noisy or uncomfortably loud. It's a great place to stop off after a day out in Muriwai or another beach nearby. The texture and flavor variety here are so good and all the flavors taste as good as each other. Highly reccommed :))
Lover their strawberry ice cream. One of the must stops on the way home in summer. I believe PYO is little overrated. And with new butterfly garden my son just love to go there. A must visit place in Kumeu for families.
Love their fresh fruit ice cream n they are best compared to similar places. This place is really busy in the season but I love their ice creams. Mix berry is my favourite. Their gelatos are also worth trying.
Came in for some real berry fruit ice cream. Got the blueberry and boysenberry ones. Blueberry was real good and tasted less sweet than the boysenberry. I personally prefer the blueberry. Waffle cone was thin and crispy.
I had mixed berry ice cream and my friend had strawberry flavour. The ice cream was creamy and smooth, densed with fresh tastes of mixed berries and strawberries. Tantalizingly delicious!!
If you happen to pass by this store, do give yourself and your company a treat to this mouth watering berry ice cream, particularly during summer months!

What’s a better treat than a fresh strawberry ice cream with strawberries in it after picking fresh strawberries on a farm? However, the strawberries they put in your ice cream were frozen, and our ones were a bit too frozen and didn’t melt properly. The ice cream’s size will surprise you and this is the best deserving treat on a hot sunny day as it’s sweet and milky enough to suit your taste - it will set you back to when you were a kid. In terms of service, they’re very efficient and fast even though there was a huge line.

Came on a Sunday midday for PYO strawberries; weather was pleasant but not too sunny!
After picking our strawberries we tried the Supa Mixed Berry Frozen Yoghurt— absolutely delicious! Smooth and creamy, good portion and nice waffle cone. Couldn’t fault it! The only downside at the time was the machine broke when it got to us and the girls making the ice cream looked a bit annoyed...

Lovely farm, strawberries are rosey red and quite sweet. Loved the clean and organized rows of strawberry trees and atmosphere. The ice creams were delicious as well. Strawberry fruity smoothie is really tasty.
Was on our way to Hellenville today, quite reluctant to stop by at this winter time but looks like a que there. On our way back, we change our mind and decided to try the fruit ice cream and it's yummy.
Very busy and high demand every time that I come here. I prefer this strawberry farm better as there are more flavours of ice cream to choose from as well as smoothies, yoghurt, sundaes and cone size. Also have a Lil cafe if you feel like a meal. Great place!
Very popular. Not sure because of the hot weather or today is a public holiday or both, this afternoon, there was a long queue.
Pricing wasn't too expensive. $4.5 for "small" cone, $5 for larger cone. Not bad price.
Obviously, the main flavor is strawberry. They are using frozen ones. Hmmmm, when combined with the ice cream, the strawberry taste is quite weak.
Made a pit stop here on the way to Muriwai. Decided to go for the Megacone which is the standard strawberry ice cream with an additional layer of fresh cream, nut and chocolate coating, topped off with a flake. Tasted pretty good except the cone gets soggy if you don't eat it quick enough. Staff looked a bit overworked so service was par. These guys also offer pick your own strawberries at $8.50 per adult entry with the first kilogram of strawberries picked free.
There are using real fruit ice cream, smoothie, already prepared Vanilla ice cream and berries cut and frozen freezer, what you oder they mix together poll the cone, the was really amazing, and they have fresh strawberry fram so he sale strawberry and plant at all, you can wait around 10min, you guys plan to go parakai Springs and came here buy lovely ice cream

It was very busy. There was a lot of demand for the ice creams, which were delicious. That seemed to be the only options. There didn't seem to be a cafe anymore.
Tried both strawberry ice cream places around this area, and this one is by far the best.
Better service & better strawberry ice cream.
Could really taste the berries in this ice cream vs the other one up the road. The other one up the road just gets a handful of strawberries and puts it into the machine, however it seems that this one pre-portions the berries (which includes other berries other than strawberries) to really get the proportions and formula right!

Passing this beautiful strawberry farm and decided to pick some strawberries 🍓. $5 per person for entry, $8.5 per KG for takeaways. Be careful of the mud lol 😂 the ice cream is amazing! Must come and try 😊

Despite being very busy, you don't have to worry about shortage of strawberries.
The product quality is 5 start, yummy ice creams, drinks, fresh strawberries and more. Enough parking space to accommodate more than 30 cars.
PYO experience is wonderful too, however the spot this place is located and the entry and exit to the place is very high risk of accidents.
I noted in my 30 minutes stay the entry point people coming from back honking and an accident involved two cars.
Be careful guys driving there and take safe calculated skills of driving there.
Good experience picking your own strawberries, we were told there was a large group the day before so we would really have to look for strawberries and mentioned their other branch just down the road, we ended up staying and we found some good juicy red ones. It wasnt busy when we got there but got abit busy when we left. Best to go when they open, and also try the ice creams next door. Overall awesome experience. Oh and you can also eat as you pick lol
An amazing place for strawberry picking. They have couple of fields to choose from. They also have Ice cream shop which serve ice creams made from freshly picked strawberries. The picking was fun and so was eating the delicious ice cream. Try the fields which are away from the main field on the road, they have better strawberries there, they provide free shuttle service as well. Best time to visit to get a good strawberry pick is 8 am to 10 am less people and get to pick the best one. :D
If u love strawberries and fresh then it can’t get any better than picking them for yourself. This is one of the best places for strawberry picking in Auckland. On a sunny day it could be really tiring especially for the kids, so make sure you carry some good sun protection and lots of water. Plan to go earlier in the season to get the best and the yummiest of them. Otherwise, it lots more effort to the farthest of lots. Once done don’t forget to treat yourself with some of the best strawberry ice creams from the shop.
Really great place to take the family. Would recommend to anybody wanting to enjoy the sun and do a family activity that’s a bit different. Excellent for tourists and a must try is the strawberry real fruit ice cream. The strawberries aren’t really ready for picking today but we still got to have some gelato and waffles.
Great experience for the kids picking their own strawberries and they taste so much nicer than the one in the supermarket and a lot cheaper too

The ice cream is not exactly my favourite but is good enough to satisfy my ice cream craving on a hot day. Great value as the mini scoop is really big.
Great real fruit icecream and yoghurt. I had a yummy smoothie with Gelato which was great as dairy and I are not friends. Great stop off on the way back from Parakai pools.
What a real adventure to pick up your own strawberries, plus taste real fruit ice cream, so yumm. Prices are super affordable.
