Came here for a quick and cheerful Sunday lunch. The food was well priced with most mains under $20. The lamb koftas were very good. It was a shame that there were hardly any people in (just me and my guest).
Good experience here. They have a new menu which was varied and daily specials. We had the pork belly which was a lovely slab of pork with a thick crispy layer on top with delicious mash, it was the best pork belly I’ve had to date!!
The food there was quite good. We started off with some garlic bread which was done really good the bread was done well. I had the Spatchcock chicken which was really nice and my partner had the butter chicken, she said it was quite good. I would go there again service was good food was good.
Cant understand why this place isn't packed. Every time we have been here for lunch or dinner, the food has always been lovely. Big portions, always perfectly cooked, and friendly staff always on hand. People should try it and see
Came here for dinner last night - and loved the food we were served here!! I had the eye fillet (a little pricey at $32 for what you get - see image) however it was DELICIOUS! I have previously been here for dinner and have never wanted to go back. Last night was an absolute exception for going as a family member was adamant on going here. A+ to the chefs and management for creating a wonderful dining experience
I can't say there's an actual atmosphere here. I feel this place is struggling to find an identity. When I arrived with my partner it wasn't too busy so we were seated quite quickly.
Didn't take us long to order dinner. I chose the duck liver pate with chiabatti. Partner chose the pork belly.
Considering the restaurant was nearly empty we waited a good half hour for our meals.
Pate was warm. Granted it was fresh and home made. I just would have preferred it be chilled. Partner loved his pork belly. Very moist and crispy on top. Staff spent a lot of time standing around not sure what they were doing!
On the plus side, menu caters for everyone. European fare or curry if you prefer. Wine reasonably priced.
Hi. My wife Helen & I had our Wedding Anniversary dinner at The Fireplace on the 16th of January '16. How the chef made the pork belly with super crunchy crackling, yet the meat was pull apart tender, made us wonder. Delicious! The staff were super friendly & willing to please.
We highly recommend that you try The Fireplace.

Family dinner. 2 Adults & 2 smalls under 8. Looking for a warm place to stop & have meal (I felt like steak). $106.80
Steak & veges for me. Hubby - Pork belly (1 drink each). 2xKids combo (nuggets, shoestring fries, drink, sundae).
Meals were nice, just what we were after that evening.
From memory, very quiet (4 other diners) approx 5.30pm.
Way too much food for the smalls - would order one meal for them to share.
I went on the Tuesday special night and the food was good. Both meals were tastie and good value for $19.90. The staff where friendly and helpful. How ever the meals took 45mins to arrive and I do not think the food is worth the normal price.
Favourite place to eat in in the world always go back. Great food, Great staff very happy every time. My only complaint is how much money I have spent there over the years as I keep going back.
A friend and I decided to check this place out as we're fairly local and have been meaning to give it a go. We went on a Thursday night as they had advertised the Pork Belly or Pork Ribs with a glass of wine or beer for $22.90 which is fantastic value! We both ordered the pork belly and boy was it cooked to perfection! Sooooo yummy. The prawns on top were a bit odd with the combination but we weren't complaining - we just ate them like an appetiser. The drinks were great and the service was prompt, professional and friendly. The setting was nice and relaxing and we stayed for a long time as we felt pretty comfortable. We both ordered the Crème Brulee for dessert which was very yummy. Over all a pretty faultless experience and would definitely recommend it to others - especially their Thursday special!
The Fireplace is our go-to for a wonderful meal every time! Lovely atmosphere, Delicious food and wonderful staff! Service is always friendly and our every need is catered to with a smile. Food is amazing and reasonably priced, especially when you visit on the nights with the specials! I believe tuesday meals are $19.90, Thursdays have a pork special and friday has a happy hour for drinks! We visit often and will continue for many more times to come!

I absolutely loved the butter chicken I ordered. It was creamy and full of flavour. It was also hot as if it had just come out of the pan. The chicken was moist and delicious!
The service was brilliant. I was served with a smile and my food and drinks came out very fast.
The restaurant is also very beautiful and I love the patio out the side for fresh air.
Would definitely recommend to all!

Just had a great meal here 2 drinks, 1 starter 2 mains 2 desserts $105 hard to beat that.
Starter: Breads & Dips = Very morish
Mains: Lamb Rump & Pork Belly meats were tender veges crisp mash & rosti beautifully cooked.
Desserts: Sticky Date pudding & New York Cheesecake delicious enough said.
Will be recommending to friends & will definitely dine there again. :)
We had fabulous meal at The Fireplace in Kumeu last night. 7 diners and we were all very pleased with the service, the ambience and of course the food. Wonderful prices for such a great menu and well executed by the chef.
Would happily recommend to anyone and we are definitely going back. We often dine out and enjoy good food and service, so we know when we are getting a great deal and The Fireplace certainly gives that.

We are a local tour operator and frequent the Fireplace for our tour lunches. The service is always pleasant and attentive, catering to various requests (e.g. vegetarian or other special diets). We have known Mike (the owner) for several years, and he is very community-minded. The food is of a consistent standard which is very important to our tour business. It is also good value for money with a reasonable selection on the menu. One, (if not the best) venues for lunch/dinner in the Kumeu area.
Went out to dinner with my husband. Staff were attentive. Started with appetisers of garlic bread and fries (which had a nice 'Fireplace' seasoning), which were both good. For mains my husband had the scotch, which was cooked to perfection, and I had the pasta, which tasted great and was a huge serving. For dessert I had a chocolate tart with a delicious mint sauce and my husband had the creme brulee, that he said was very good. A really good meal overall. Will definitely go back.

Watched the 2023 Rugby World Cup Final here. The breakfast burger was outstanding! Brioche bun, some really great bacon, scrambled egg, spinach and a great relish. One of the best I’ve had….washed down with numerous hazy IPAs. The service was great! They do $12 cocktails from 5-7pm on Thursday, Fri, Sat…..I will be back 😁
Amazing restaurant and bar, OMG the lamb shank meal was absolutely amazing and the service was excellent. We got seated and never moved service was amazing thank you. We will definitely be going back thank you for an amazingly awesome meal and drinks. Loved it
Great customer service and atmosphere. The eye fillet meal (with fries instead of mash) is absolutely delicious, as is the Eton mess dessert. Highly recommend, the whole family will love it. Photos feat kids meal (with some eaten), eye fillet (from x2 different occasions) and Eton mess.
Very enjoyable. I had the eye fillet which was cooked perfectly. I then had the Hive Eton Mess which was lovely. Decent portions.
Staff were friendly and welcoming.
A nice atmosphere, my only criticism would be that there are too many tables in the space which meant that the tables are too close.
A cocktail menu would be a good addition.

Well, last night was that night and I tell you, I am so glad I went!
First impressions:
Not as warm and inviting (interior wise) that I had expected from the outside BUT that is where the negative ends.
The service was friendly, attentive (without being over the top).
The food came out fairly quickly for our table of 6 and was well presented, smelled wonderful and had the taste to match.
Good for kids too, separate kids menu.
Drinks menu was comprehensive, right down to an espresso martini.
Price was this sits more at a mid level but the serving size and value was there 👌
Will we be back? Absolutely!

It was early Saturday evening & a group of us came for dinner then onto a function. There was a rugby game on TV & it was sooo loud that we could hardly hear ourselves speak. So it was more like a sports bar than a restaurant. Otherwise everything else was great.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. I great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend this place.

Honesty this place is gold. I found the food amazing. They swapped fries for a side salad which means a lot to me. The ambiance is Beautiful, the atmosphere that of relaxed and happy people. But most of all I liked the staff. They were fabulous, dealing with our table change and request for the heater on so graciously. Great personality’s in there. Just an all round good spot. Worth a drive to get to it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
