Stopped over on our way to Dunedin! It was already past their closing time but they served us nice sandwiches and coffees. It’s just opposite the Kurow fire station. Nice outdoor seating on the street and in the garden and plenty of space inside with some paintings and photos by local artists

The owner is so nice and put the effort into hospitality. She made me a really yummy sandwich. Food is reasonably priced here. Must stop. Thanks.

Delicious homemade food (esp the steak pie and the melting moments). Lovely service and homely ambience. Will happily visit again

Make sure you stop here. Lovely people, food was great for Kurow and the coffee was spot on. Thanks for your hospitality.

One of the few places open at 4pm. Service with a smile. Good choice of food in the cabinets. Tasty moist carrot cake with a perfect level of icing. Good hot coffee. Interesting photos on the walls. Lovely and warm inside after a road trip on a crisp cold day

Easy, peasey place to stop for a bite to eat. Indoor and outdoor seating. Relaxed and welcoming.

Bit of a shambles with food delivery - seemed some tables were given numbers and some weren’t. Our food turned up missing the eggs, which they recognised quickly and delivered a few moments later, but we regularly had food deliveries attempted that weren’t for us as they had no idea who had what. That said, food was good, though a bit cooler than hopped for. Certainly an average breakfast - not disappointing, but nothing to write home about.

This cafe is always 100% great. The owner makes an effort to greet you by name, even people who visit but who live in other towns. She goes above and beyond and ALWAYS wears her mask. We have stopped visiting a cafe in a neighbouring town because the staff do not wear them or wear them incorrectly. The cafe has a range of very well priced food and the foodmever disappoints. She is always the cafe most often open in Kurow. which is a plus.

Stopped in for a coffee and snack on the way to Dunedin from pukaki... the homemade pies were some of the best we've had in New Zealand and the single scoop of ice cream was the biggest scoop I've ever seen! Everything was well priced (pies: 5.60, huge ice cream scoop: 3.50), delicious and fresh. Service was also really nice and pleasant. Definitely recommend!

Open after 2pm, well-priced and extensive menu, and uses the correct Māori name for the town of "Kurow" - perfect roadside cafe. It even has a shrine to the late, great Richie McCaw.
