Traveled on the intercity and it stopped at this little town called Lawrence. If you are driving the south island or near here definitely worth stopping into this warm and friendly pub. I especially loved the welcome from the resident cat!!

The Chicken Schnitzel and Lamb Shanks were amazing, I definitely recommend this restaurant. We ate here a second night, both had pizzas, they were amazing, best we've had in a long time. Highly recommend!
Having read recent positive reviews, of course we had to come to the local for a good pub meal. We had the Chicken schnitzel and the beef schnitzel, and the bangers and mash. All great flavoursome sauces and a great salad with each meal. A couple of bottles of Speights ultra and we can say we had a

Staying in Lawrence for the night we decided to call into the local pub for a drink. Though it was late afternoon we were surprised how quiet it was. We enjoyed our visit and would return again when next time we stay in Lawrence.
We stopped for dinner before travelling on to Dunedin. The burgers were huge..the chips crunchy and fluffy inside..the crunch chicken moist and tasty..a huge meal at a reasonable price! Praise to the chef..thankyou.

A group of 4 of us stopped in for an early dinner and we were not disappointed. The meals were very generous and well priced. The chicken snitzels were large and tender. We found the service prompt and friendly. Worth a stop if in Lawrence.

Had not intended to overnight in Lawrence but was glad we did because we would not have otherwise experienced the great food and hospitality at this pub. Another reminder of what “top notch” pub food is like. The generously sized steaks were cooked to perfection! A Big thanks to the host and staff.
