The Buzzer was amazing was very big so i couldnt finish it but not with lack of trying! Would definitely recommend it has a bit of everything!!
Love coming here one of the best places to get a coffee in Lower Hutt. They also have great food although I know some people may find it a little expensive for the portions size. The stuff always welcomes us with a smile.
Great service from a friendly staff. We took two families with our kids. The food was great tasting and came out in good time. We will be back.
Saw all the reviews and was worried the Buzz of old had been lost. Needn't have worried, the service was great (at peak time on saturday) and friendly, food was punctual and tasted fantastic, just like i remembered. My only complaint is the decor seems worse and the chairs less comfy, but that could just be my memory.
I reccomend the foccacia stack, for $19.50 id say its priced slightly higher than its location would warrant, but it tastes great. I hope this place can bring back a bit of buzz (pun intended) to this end of the Hutt. Will definitely be back.
I was quite happy when I arrived at Buzz... The menu looked good and the wine / drink list was quite diverse.
And I have to say the food was fairly good, as was the service. But seriously, it took 40 minutes to get a grilled cheese sandwich and a Cesear salad.
40 MINUTES!
And it wasn't particularly busy... Maybe 5 tables occupied, and toward the end of the lunch period.
I'll give them a couple of months to sort things and the will try again, maybe.
Different location and new decor has given this place a lift. I had the chciken foaccia stack my partner had the beef burger we had a late and a ice coffee also. My son had the chicken tenders. Very nice not exactly child friendly as it doesnt have a kids menu but we were told by a lovely waitress that you can have half meals for $8 which was good. Food was nice very overpriced though...but can be forgiven as staff were friendly and attentive we also didnt have to wait long for our meals considering it was the lunchtime rush
Now situated where HOTROCKS used to be, I used to frequent this place in the early 2000s when it was by New World. At the time, it was the only cafe of its kind in the Lower Hutt CBD so it was popular. I'm glad to see it back, as Lower Hutt is lacking in really good cafes.
It's nice to see photos of the original Buzz Cafe on the wall.
Anyhoo ... we went along today with expectations in line with the previous two reviews, but were not as disappointed as we thought we'd be.
The staff were friendly and attentive and the decor rather nice. We were immediately impressed with the great quality music playing that was not so loud you couldn't hear yourself think - it was easy listening classic rock. It's finally nice to eat breakfast without Salmonella Dub blasting through your eardrums.
I had the blueberry creme fraiche pancakes and a pot of tea; hubby had The Buzzer and a mocha.
My pancakes were fluffy and had a very nice taste - the blueberries and creme fraiche abundant, and the maple syrup topped it all off nicely. Worth $16. I got 3 cups of tea out of my pot, having asked for extra hot water - I was pleased there was a sugar bowl on the table. I despise sachets! I enjoyed my meal very much.
Instead of the mushrooms, hubby had hollandaise on his eggs - he said it had minimal taste. It was a nice touch that the baked beans were served in a small jug so as not to bleed into the rest of the food. His only grumble was that the plates our meals were served on were stone cold. If they had been warmed this review would've yielded a 4.
We noticed the model of the Kiwiana shake ($12) on the counter ... we didn't get one because today we were in breakfast mode ... but will be going back to share one! As it looks very impressive and would be a cute thing to share on a first date :-)
Just been here for lunch. Its just opened so thought we'd try it.
We booked a table for 12 and first impressions were good. We ordered drinks but they took a while to arrive. Our meals were ordered and we didn't have to wait long, but being a big group we didn't get our meals all together. Which is no biggy.
I ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken (price around $19.50) and it was good but for that price I was expecting it to be a little bit bigger.
My husband ordered the Sliders, which were tiny burgers, one pulled pork, one beef, one fish. My husband said they were good but two bites and they were gone. Some of his fries were under cooked though.
My son ordered a large pizza, but they didn't have a large pizza available so they gave him two medium sized ones, which he said were delicious. But some of his fries were under cooked. And there was no salt or pepper on the table (we had to ask).
Paying was nice and easy, and staff were friendly but not as attentive as other places. But we've tried here now and it was good but not sure if we'll come back unless we are hungry and passing by.
I understand it takes a while to set up a new business but attention to detail is important. And the customer should be made to feel welcome, and maybe ask if the meal (even lunch) is ok.
But I wish them luck. They have potential.
Got the big breakfast, forgot what's its called but that's alright. Everything was cooked beautifully and was delish. Good portion size and okay prices. I do wish the bread could've been toasted more, or if there was some butter on the side then that would be splendid 😋 Otherwise the meal still slayed and the service was good too
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Visited Buzz Cafe recently and was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere is truly welcoming and makes for a relaxing experience. What stood out most was the fast service, ensuring I didn't have to wait long for my order. To top it off, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Lower Hutt, Wellington!
Nice ahtomosphere and the staff was super friendly and helpful!!!!
My favourite was beef cheek 😋 sauce and roasted vegetables were awesome. Mashed potatoes and chicken were saulty to me personally.
Anyway overall good place to grab dinner! ✨️
Dinner for two, before a show. Streets very quiet on a Sat evening, cafe was busy tho. Good atmosphere, comfy chairs. Good selection of cabinet food but I ordered the ribs. Definitely finger licking good! Tender and very tasty. Husband loves his fish and chips, nice salad mix.
Fluffiest pancakes I've had! Great atmosphere and love that the music isn't too loud. Food all looked sooo good. Will be coming back soon!
On a Sunday the Hutt looked absolutely dead. Just a few pieces of rubbish whirling in the wind and a can tumbling down the footpath. Thankfully parking is free although parks were 95% full but no people in sight?
Walked into a cafe, two customers, flat ambience, instantly left.
Carried on and found buzz, whole place was pumping, 30minute wait and tables full. Meals on plates looked massive.
We waited and ordered, table service is very 1990s so we didn't mind ordering at the counter.
Got the buzz breakfast and chicken burger. Happy with the thick shake. Bubble tea could've been better though.
Will we go back? Yes. Do we regret the wait time or food? No.
Thanks buzz 💪
Came for lunch on a Monday, A nice ambience, friendly staff backed up by great food, corn fritters were good, the highlight was the buzz chicken tray served with a delicious jous , great flavours...
Would definitely visit again.
Lots of delicious food at an extremely reasonable price in a funky venue! What more could you want? Add excellent friendly service and staff and you get Buzz Cafe Resturant in Lower Hutt. For a main, I highly recommend the ribs, but all our meals were amazing. I also had a yummy berry smoothie and a sticky date pudding, all for $44. It also has a good looking kids menu. The venue itself is spacious, tidy and has some cool art on the walls. This was by far my best meal out in a long time and I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this excellent establishment.
We ventured upon Buzz during our meander through Lower Hutt following a movie at the pop up cinema, and the service was friendly and warm that we had carrot cake and espresso only to return back for breakfast the next morning!
Buzz offers Goody card which is a bonus incentive and we ordered eggs Benedict with bacon, mushroom and avocado to go with lattes. I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch and am happy to have found a great cafe to visit next time I’m visiting my sister. Service was excellent and good was amazing! Highly recommended!
Dropped in for WOAP to try their burger "The Black Ink Paua Burger". Warmly greeted by staff as we walked in, shown to the table. Staff member was positive and good spirited. Food and drinks were delivered to table without any delays. Burger was presented and described as per flyer, actually it tasted great. Plenty of seating options, outdoors in good weather. Atmosphere is relaxed, casual a games table up front. Good selection of beer, wine, cocktails, smoothies and shakes, not to forget tea and coffee options. Wheelchair accessible, kids menu and highchairs so should cater for all and young to old. Located at start of Hutt so heaps of parking available
Had a lovely early dinner here lastnight, hosts were very friendly and accommodating, speed of service was amazing, food portions were generous, hot, fresh and flavourful, atmosphere was very chill and relaxing, can't wait to eat here again.
One of my favourite locals. Halloumi salad is the bomb and the beef nachos are tasty. Generous portions. Great coffee, handy location, hard working team. Family friendly. Gotta go to Buzz
It's one of my other favorite coffee spots in Lower Hutt. The staff are friend and they bake their own good and cabinet food which are top notch quality. It's also quite spacious and comfy inside, especially important during the colder months.
I went to the Buzz Cafe for lunch. It was pretty busy. Considering how busy, it was well serviced and the food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Buzzer breakfast. Eggs, kransky, mushrooms, tomato, hash brown, bacon, spinach and toast.
The eggs were perfectly poached.
A great meal with great service.
Fun and friendly staff, welcoming and comfortable environment, beautiful fresh food, served in good time.
First time dining in at Buzz and the customer service was okay, seeing as its Level 2 they kept to the level 2 rules which I appreciated. Now the food… my butter milk chicken burger was a bit salty but great presentation, I got the Buzz Breakfast with no bacon and it was nice very filling and great combination of all my favourite breakfast foods on 1 plate only con was the toast pieces were soggy. But other than that a great coffee and ice chocolate was AMAZING!
Would definitely visit again and try more things on their menu.
This place is so good I've been taking my Tai Chi class members there for years! Michael (owner) and his staff are first class for service and friendliness.
