Loved the taste of Turkish food and the environment they created.. they also offer special Turkish desserts that is not known by other western countries.
Came here 2 weeks ago. Food is good overall and we are happy with the service. The fettuccinne was slightly too oily and heavy though. May come back again.
Love coming here, the food always tastes good and the decor of the restaurant adds a nice touch. Cocktails wise, I would recommend the lychee and raspberry one.
Took my adult children to Mairangi Bay last night, first time we have been to Taksim. Want to say the staff were just lovely, and the food we had delicious!! My daughter and I shared a platter as a main, lovely lamb, chicken and spicy beef, very full after. The boys, (both vege) loved the pizza. Thanks to our lovely waiter and waitress for the recomendtions. Will bee back!
Come here a lot, they never miss a beat, meals always arrive within a reasonable time regardless who busy.
Some may not enjoy the tight fit, or the portion sizes. To which I say, you are probably overweight and you over eat.
Came here for a late dinner after work. Cute little atmosphere. My partner and I ordered the Taksim sharing platter. Your standard turkish, very tasty and homey. The Tulasy is very comforting and similar to an Indian Lassi. Will be back ☺️
The staff were so lovely and the food absolutely amazing! So many flavours on the plate! Absolutely happy to go here again! Very conveniently down the road! Loved it!
Great atmosphere and great food very friendly people. We tried adana, shish ET, musaka and islankar and spinach pastry... absolutely nice...Abit pricy but good enough. Will go again and again.
The food was delicious and did not take long to come out. A bit on the smaller side and a bit cramped but the taste definitely offsets this. Would definitely come back!

It really is hard to find a bad place to eat on the North Shore and here is another above par restaurant. Really good middle eastern/Mediterranean menu. Quality food, friendly service and very reasonably priced.
Taksim ,in my opinion, is the best turkish restaurant on the north shore.There food is cooked to the highest quality and the staff there are very helpful and friendly!
Just came home from having a late dinner here and it was really nice! The restaurant was still busy even at 9pm. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I had a half and half vegetarian & chicken pizza with deep fried camembert to share for a starter. My boyfriend had the moussaka. Defiantly recommend if your on the shore looking for a place for dinner.
Ordered bread and dips for entree to share with my friend. The dips were nice but unfortunately the Turkish bread was a bit of a let down. I was expecting it to be crunchy but sadly it was dense and cold. For main I ordered the Adana. The flavours were all there but sadly the lamb mince was very dry. Service is good and the set up is very authentic.

On a very wet Thursday night we went to the Taksim Turkish Kitchen and Bar in Mairangi Bay. The place was pretty full when we arrived and there was a noisy welcoming atmosphere. The menu was different and much broader the one listed on the web site, and after a bit of deliberation we selected the Taksim mezze platter to share, Pirzola (lamb cutlets) and Tavuklu (chicken) Borek. The mezze platter (olives, feta, dolma, falafel patties, cigar boreks, hummus, tabbouleh, salad, dips & pita breads) was huge, very fresh and tasty, and eagerly devoured. We also shared the Pirzola - the lamb cutlets were so juicy and tender, they melted in your mouth. The chicken borek was stuffed full of shredded chicken, spices, cream cheese and red capsicums. Both the main dishes, were accompanied by hummus, dips, tabbouleh and salad. We were planning on having dessert, but were too full after our mains. The staff are very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is buzzing, and the food is delicious, sizeable and very good value for money. This is a great addition to the range of restaurants in the area.

went there to meet a friend and went back the next day with hubby. loved the dolma (stuffed vine leaves) and pirzola. The shish Et was undercooked for our liking. The salad with mung bean is awesome though the portion of salad can seem small. on a not so busy day the waitresses can seem a bit too eager to see you out.
Although being a foodie it was my first time experience at Taksim restaurant. The staff was really nice & friendly. Had few pizza's Istanbul, New York & Hawaiian. All the pizza's were really tasty and the crust was nice & crispy. The lamb on the Istanbul pizza had nice flavor to it and New york pizza had a lot of toppings on it which was really nice and i loved it. Will definitely recommend others & come back again soon. Great value for money.

This was my first Turkish experience and it was absolutely amazing! We decided to have our Girls Night here this time after hearing a few great reviews and it definitely met the hype.
The setting is spacious and well lit and there was a fair amount of customers for a Tuesday night! We had the Cigar Borek for Starters and this really got the appetite started. The soft, feta filling was covered in this delicious warm, pastry and served with a set of dips that worked perfectly together. The hummus was the real highlight of the night! My friend and I fell in love with it and agreed that we would happily have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner HAHA. It was so full of texture and perfectly seasoned. We were opting between the Moussaka and the Chicken Camembert for our Main and we definitely made a good decision with the Chicken. The meat was sitting on a bed of roasted Kumara and was cooked to perfection!! Ahh and the sauce :O Yeah it was a damn good dish overall.
All our other dishes, especially the platters were seamless and beautifully presented. The service was fine and the atmosphere was filled with traditional music and servers roaming around checking up on everyone. I was pleasantly suprised by this place and I would recommend it to anyone keen on having a night out with fresh European food!
Went with a group of friends this week. The atmosphere was quite nice. The staff seemed very friendly, we had a lovely waitress who was quite attentive. Another table was celebrating a birthday and I love that all that staff got into singing happy birthday. They had gluten free options which was great (being coeliac), my friends meals (more traditional meals) looked amazing (hence my rating)...I had camembert chicken which was OK...sauce was delish...but one tiny tiny piece of camembert as a garnish isn't really camambert chicken...so I was a tad disappointed with this...but we had a nice evening overall.
We really enjoyed the food. Great flavours and good atmosphere. We could talk comfortably and the waiters were friendly. Price was good too. Id recommend the mezze platter. Cheers
Great service! We were surprised how fast we got our meals so quick. Love the plates and how the meals are organised so different. Awesome pricing too would go again for sure

Was really excited to try out a Turkish restaurant for the first time and I was really impressed! Taksim is a new establishment out in Mairangi and the decor and vibe of the place it awesome. Food wise it was pretty good, my group got the turkish bread with dips to share which were nice and then for me meal I had the chicken salad and the tirimisu (not the most Turskish things I could of gotten but yknow). The chicken salad was really nice, the meat was well cooked and crispy and I liked the selection of sauces that came with the plate. However the 'smashed' avocado was smashed to the point were at first glance it was a pesto and only after tasting it I realized that the puree was avocado. For desert I pressure picked the tirimisu (next time I want to try the traditional filo pastry with walnuts) but it was quite nice, smooth and rich and the pistachio ice cream it was served with was lovely. A draw back with the deserts was that my friend ordered the rose water brulee and it was served burnt with the custard tasting more of eggs than rosewater. We explained this to a waitress who told us that the brulee was actually getting taken off the menu soon because of the quality which I am happy about (just glad they care). Overall I did have a very good evening with Taksim, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

I love this restaurant! I had dinner the other Friday with my friends and absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere and the décor. The service was so friendly on this busy night and the belly dancer was great too; it just completed the evening for me; I even had a little dance too. Can't wait to come back with my overseas friends to show them a bit of Turkish culture.
Loved this restaurant. The food was amazing! Just as it should be. Having traveled a lot I'm so often disappointed when eating Turkish food here. That certainly wasn't the case at Taksim. I can't wait to go back. Could be very addictive. 😀😀Very cool atmosphere as well. Thank goodness finally somewhere authentic yummy and healthy.
Great food from a local turkish-style restaurant of the type we dont have enough of. Proper charcoal grill makes it special. Especially lamb rack is amazing!!!!!! 🍖 also hummus & salad are fresh and perfectly harmonized with meats 👍 Good sharing platters and small bites. Good for families, couple or groups.

Ahhh the fettucini pasta was the best past I had. Must try! Right now they are going through renovation, but the kitchen is open and the dine in option is limited as well. But the food is amazing and the staffs are super friendly and cute! :) if you like eggplant, you will love the mousaka😍 and the platter is worth giving a shot too. Highly recommending this restaurant ❤️

Family meal out. I was impressed by the extensive menu to suit all of us. Portions are huge! Lots of opportunity to share. One meal between both of us would have been a better idea! Staff were friendly and efficient. So enjoyed the food and company! Will definitely be back!

The chef and waiter's welcoming nature truly made me feel at home, while their skill and passion were evident in the delicious food they served. We had the shared platter with lamb chops, chicken, bread, hummus, salads and yogurt mint dip. It was absolutely delicious. My favourite thing to eat at this restaurant.

This is a great restaurant with amazing food, amazing service and super cool staff. Each time I've gone I've had a nice time and it never disappoints. Along with having a wonderful restaurant they also have a bar right next to it with similar attributes. Awesome place to go overall.
