Tasteful Seconds By Kyrsta Lynn

Vegan and vegetarian galore. This place had meals packed with nutrients and mainly vegan and vegetarian. I personally am not a vegetarian or vegan but always enjoy a great vegan meal. I had one of the cheesecake bites and it was outstandingly wonderful. The taste was exquisite and the atmosphere itself was fresh. I had the macha latte and added coconut sugar which was a great touch. Loved the plants everywhere and the small busy atmosphere this cafe.
Such a cute little healthy cafe! Was genuinely impressed with the wide variety of options that they had on their menu. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. However, it is a small cafe and with limited seating. Not a problem during the week, but would suggest planning your times during the weekend.
Such lovely and welcoming staff members! Very polite and patient.
They cater for everyone! There’s such a variety of foods that accomodate to so many different diets and allergies. I come here all the time because everything’s even and I love knowing I can choose anything I want off the menu and out of the cabinet. Their smoothies are delicious too!
I highly recommend! 💛
For Saturday brunch, I headed to Rosedale to try something new and decided on Sip Kitchen. I was glad to find an impressive menu (for both food and drinks) that’s clearly aimed at vegetarians but still caters well for omnivores that stumble upon this café too.
I wasn’t that hungry when I came in, so I opted for one of their pre-packed salads from the cabinet. The Asian kelp salad was fresh and tasty, although it didn’t have any seaweed in it like I expected (by “Asian kelp” did they mean “glass noodles"?). But to be honest, what drew me in was the gorgeously sliced avocado anyway. You can get this salad with tempeh (fermented soy product, looks kind of like tofu) but I ordered it with chicken. At first it looks like they give way too much dressing, but by the time you’ve had a few bites you realise that you'll need it for both the salad and the dry chicken breast.
The spicy chai latte was milky and still pretty sweet. I’ve had better, but no real complaints here.
Ambiance-wise, I liked their lush greenery wall. There aren’t that many tables, so it’s more of a place to order takeaways rather than bring a whole group of friends around. And as an extra for the eco/vegan/vegetarian crowd, they also sell interesting paraphernalia like books, keep-cups, dried snacks, and teas that would make great gifts.
Overall, the portions are pretty generous but overall a bit pricy (given that the meals are predominantly salad-based). Next time, I’d like to try one of their smoothies. They have regular ones as well as kids ones that are cheaper and simpler in terms of ingredients.
Finally had the chance to visit today, loved the experience. Everything was so healthy yet so delicious!Price could be a little expensive, but definitely worth it!!
Great to have some vegan options in Rosedale! Love the smoothies. The Kumara toast on the menu was yummy along side a slice from the cabinet. The cashew sour cream was so good! Will be trying more soon. Only thing I didn’t like was the coffee which was burnt tasting.
Some credit where it’s due !
I’ve eaten here several times
Everything about this place is great
- atmosphere/vibe 5/5
- staff & friendliness 5/5
- food & presentation 5/5
I’ve tried so many items, lasagna - moussaka - cottage pie - Vege rice paper rolls etc etc
Every mouthful is full of a punch of flavour
Seasoned to perfection.
The mushroom and walnut ragout minus egg substituted with tempeh is just fantastic,
My absolute favourite.
Everything screams quality - care - pride
Especially recommended if your vegan/vegetarian
Options are endless.
Really delightful , nutritious food here at Sip KItchen . The kitchen really appears to take great pride in their offerings and the soups and salad are my favourites .
Went to Sip Kitchen this morning after realising there was a north shore branch! I got the Turkish bowl to take away and the raspberry basil bomb smoothie. The bowl was super yum and a really good filling lunch option for vegetarian/pescatarians like myself as well as being healthy! I didn’t love the smoothie so much as it was just a bit too bitter but definitely keen to try some more of the menu here!
To be fair, with the espresso sign at the front you'd think Sip Kitchen would be the perfect place for a good coffee! It was possibly the worst nut milk coffee I have ever had, burnt, barely tasted like coffee - and it was handed to me so hot I could barely hold it! It seems the barista is the same in the past 9 months, or the coffee machine is broken. The only highlight of my lunch was the selection of raw deserts in the counter shelf.
Awesome cafe - relaxing and calm and the food is delicious - try their Avocado smash - sets you up for the day. Going to Sip Kitchen for breakfast - em? Avocado Smash please, flat white and yum, yum!!
Most delicious vegan friendly cafe I've ever been to! Definitely one of my favourites, customer service was fab and the store had such a nice aesthetic. I would highly recommend coming here :)
This cafe is a real gem...there are always interesting salads and beautiful healthy food in the cabinets. I love the combination of extremely tasty dishes that are also very healthy. Lots of variety in hot drinks, fresh juices, and smoothies. Trendy and fresh decor.
I love Sip Kitchen for their raw desserts and coffee. The coffee here is always served to perfection! If you're looking for a good coffee spot then look no further! The girls at the counter are always lovely and friendly but the guy making the coffee always seem a little irritated. The only downside to Sip is the parking is a bit small and the ladies next door are very strict about parking your vehicle in their spaces. Also Sip only offers full fat milk which is a bit odd. So if you're strict on drinking low fat milk then I recommend getting your coffee fix somewhere else
The omega plate is my fav lunch of all time but aside from this, I wouldn't rave about this place. Quite overpriced and coffee nothing amazing. Just ok!
Slow Sundays and a Soba Noodle Chicken Salad.
A mug holding freshly juiced beetroot and ginger infused into fluffed cashew milk (Beetroot Latte), fits as nice into my palms as it tastes. Made by Morris & James, Matakana Potters, I salute the mug's half clay and half glazed body. It's form fitting.
A white plate hosting a pyramid of my lunch graced my shade of the table. A gather of enoki mushrooms, basil, soba noodles and coriander with a curry dressing smeared across half the plate. They were satisfying bites. The chef forgetting the organic chicken didn't merit any disgrace.
It was served when asked on.
Accompanied by the roasted crescents of pumpkin. I was filled.
I take bites out of my friend's salad bowl. They are joyful helpings. I do want more of her lunch as well as finishing mine in slow motion.
Spread open next to me is the salutary Good magazine, a copy of the cafe's. I read an article on creating a happy home.
We move outside to finish our nut milk lattes after our meals. Swing in afternoon breeze and make plans of weekends ahead.
Perfect. There were hugs from the friend too. :)
Went here for breakfast this morning and it was really nice. I had the smashed avocado and a smoothie. It was really filling and tasted super healthy. Service was allgood, the inside is quite small so not much seating available. Recommend if your on the shore looking for somewhere healthy to go eat for breakfast/lunch.
Stopped in on my way to work this morning for a quick breakfast after wanting to try sip kitchen for a while now, it definitely did not disappoint. I drink I had the jungle berry smoothie and it tasted really fresh and super healthy - which it was according to the description on the menu. To eat I had the smashed avo on paleo bread, the avocado was seasoned nicely, the egg was perfectly cooked, the bread was really nice and packed with nuts and seeds and the presentation was adorable. Service was friendly and helpful. All and all was delicious and not bad at $27 considering all the fresh ingredients! I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Sip kitchen has got to be my favourite place to eat on a daily basis. The menu is all very raw and organic and great for those with allergies or health/diet conscious. The salads are fantastic and the serving sizes are great. The best thing EVER is the raw caramel/chocolate slice which I get every time and the egg and avo on toast is always cooked to perfection. I love coming here for lunch and grabbing a salad & a slice, or the matcha latte is fantastic. The breakfast smoothie is so filling and worth trying too. Would recommend to everyone & can't fault apart from some things are a little pricey. However I believe you get what you pay for in quality.
Came here alone for the first time! Super cute area, definitely my sort of vibe. Lots of the foods are over priced but I love how they have infused their juices and smoothies with super food powders, and their salads are so so good! Not your typical cafe food and smoothies. I'd come here for a time for myself to study or read a book. Staff are also super super friendly! I love this place, definitely coming back to try more drinks 🍵💫
Simply beautiful food, lovely staff and calm, happy atmosphere. :) Raw, vegan, healthy food is the main menu, but there's other fantastic foods if you don't want vegan food. There are amazing smoothies and teas/coffees, and cakes that are as delicious as they are healthy. This is the best cafe for miles. Love it. :)
If they have little bird unbakery in ponsonby, Albany has sip kitchen !
A healthy, organic raw cafe
Their cabinets are always filled with delicious treats, salads and sandwiches
I love their smoothie bowls and smoothies
They all have crazy names and exotic ingredients
You know that you can indulge here because it's all good for you :)

Hands down my favourite cafe in Auckland. I'm here at least 5 times a week and can't recommend it enough. Coffee is amazing and the smoothies are to die for. Guilt free delicious treats for all types of diets. Staff are all also fantastic which makes it even better 💯 Omega plate in photo is the perfect balanced lunch and you get your choice of two salads.
I love coming here for a healthy takeaway lunch. The Moroccan fritter and the salads they have are delicious. Love that the salads change constantly and are always super tasty combos. Great value for money also. Nice to have a place for smoothies and raw cakes on the shore
One of my favourite places! The food there is so healthy and yet delicious! The raw lasagna is the best! They also do a lot of amazing salads and vegan cakes! Their smoothies are really nice as well, though a bit pricey, $12 each.
Constantly finding myself winding up at this cafe as it's literally a two minute drive from my house! Lovely sweet treats that are gluten free/ vegan/ refined sugar free which is great! Their smoothies are also incredible! I Highly recommend the "chai of life" smoothie!
The most cutest relaxing little cafe on the North Shore, with delicious food and vegetarian/vegan options. The sip nutrition plate was full of flavours and very filling! Definitely want to come back here again!
Wonderful tasty and healthy meals, I especially love their great range of smoothies! Great tasting and made from fresh natural ingredients :)
Yummy smoothies and treats! The salads are good most of the time, the coconut curry slaw is by far my favourite. The smoothies are pretty expensive however.
Only bad thing is the parking 😅 food and smoothies are both amazing, always nice to find a place where they offer paleo and LCHF options.
Love this place!! Amazing slices, smoothies and salads. The Dr Feelgood is sooooooo yummy. Staff are super amazing and friendly and general vibe is just really nice and relaxing.
Love the Salmon wrap! The brocoli and smoked salmon salad was really good as well (needed a bit more smoked salmon though).
Blueberry cheesecake was amazing and the peppermint macadamia slice wasn't too bad either.
Tried the super hot chocolate as well. That was like drinking a non sweet hot chocolate with all the healthy feels, but lacked the chocolate satisfaction.
The smoothies are great but I am yet to try the juices!
May become a regular if the juices are nice and those smoked salmon wraps and salads keep coming!
Great little spot amongst the hustle and bustle. Everything about this place is just so rad. The food, the staff, and especially the plants hanging from the ceiling. We got a a caramel slice and a fruit tart thing, and both of them were delicious. You wouldn't even know that they were vegan. A++
Very happy to discover this gem! I'll be back for more. So happy to find something close to work and home to get something healthy and delicious. I'll be back!
Updated 2017:
This is my local and my go-to cafe when I am feeling like a wholesome, nourishing & flavoursome pick me up or meal.
Sip Kitchen is a cute hidden gem with a massive array of healthy treats from sweet treats, breakfasts, lunch meals to smoothies. There's something for everyone. I'm a fan of their massive nourish plate and raw treats.
Highly recommend this place especially for those healthy cafe lovers!
I went here straight after gym so the whole healthy and organic menu was very appealing to me.
I got the Super Hot Choc and an Asian salad bowl. The super hot choc was really delicious and would definitely recommend it and get it again myself. However, I did not fancy the taste of my salad. The prices for the whole menu are quite pricy though with $8 for a small bowl of salad and the smoothies being nearly $10 in price. So if you want something healthy and clean and don't mind paying a lot more then this is the place to go!
Also, there's not much parking so that's a bit of a hassle too.
OMG I'm writing a disclaimer "Do Not eat Sip Kitchen while driving " DELICIOUSNESS ALERT!! I just had a salmon + broccoli salad with avo to die for, I almost crashed because I couldn't stop eating it. YUM'o. I also got some other health slice that sounded yucky looked good and was also delicious. 5/5 for me
Great cafe with fantastic healthy food options, a variety of fresh nut milk choices for a great coffee and a range of delicious looking juices and smoothies that I have yet to try. Great to see a cafe that has healthy and raw choices on the North Shore. My only suggestion is that they need to have better signage out the front so it is easier to find.
Best coffee we have had on the shore so far. Have yet to try the menu. Love the vertical garden and home vibe. Nice place to chill or get healthy food after a workout.
** 16/8/14 ** Apparently they have ordered a highchair. Will definitely help my stress levels whilst trying to relax with a coffee...
I have recently become a regular at Sip Kitchen and am stoked that it's so close to home!
Always a good experience & the food is always A+++, however, it is a bit shocking to be informed that they don't currently have any highchairs for their wee customers! Especially since 65-80% of their other customers have been mothers with at least one preschooler in tow!! Acquiring two to three high chairs would make me a happy camper and improve my overall review. Although there is always a lack of seating for my bub, I should mention that he does enjoy playing with the basket of age appropriate toys that is available.
Great location and finally good to see a Paleo café on the North Shore (taken long enough! ha). Really funky décor and very central location although not much parking available and you should definitely avoid parking in the physio car park next door, they tow! Their food was basically all cabinet food which is quite handy especially if you don't have time to sit in the café and eat. They have a large selection of smoothies and desserts! The only thing I will say is their smoothies could really use some honey or stevia. They aren't that sweet! I also felt that the broccoli bowl I ordered could have used some salt or seasoning. Their seating arrangement isn't that accommodating either, so if you're going on a weekend I would suggest getting there early or just order take-out. I will be back again, let's hope they add some more salt/seasoning!
Delicious fresh salads, amazing smoothies, sweet healthy treats, and coffee with nut milk of all kinds. Beautiful space, nice magazines - a new favourite!
