Always refreshing to find a breakfast menu with more that just eggs bene and full breakfast. The breakfast sambo is just that. A bit more hollandaise sauce and it would earn a 5. Coffee great too.
The best place to have coffee on sunny weekend with family. Especially the flat white. Their food also looks good that I should try next time.
Lovely little café tucked into the back of the Green Gables mall. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Felt like i was in a little bubble away from the outside world and came out feeling a bit more relaxed.
Ordered a choc chip cookie (not pictured), a tomato, spinach & cheese scone, a mocha and a chocolate milkshake. Cost was $18.
My kid loved her cookie and her chocolate milkshake. I tried some of the milkshake and it was pretty damn good. My mocha was pretty good too. Perfect chocolate to coffee ratio, perfect temperature and best of all it came with marshmallows. The scone was good, although it was pretty plain. It could have done with a bit more spinach and tomatos in it. Think I only encounted one small piece of tomato in the whole scone.
Had a look at their made to order food menu and it looks pretty good. Will have to come back to try a few things on it. Will definitely be back for a cup of coffee again.
Not bad, not bad at all. I purchased an Eggs Benedict with avocado and portabello mushroom instead of my usual salmon due to my transition to eating less meat. It was nice. Eggs were poached well. The service was nice and the girl serving me even cracked a joke as awkward as it was but it was funny and we laughed so good on her for making an effort! The atmosphere was nice with plenty of art to look at or buy as much of it is for sale. Standard North Shore Pricing $15.50 (NZD) for the Eggs Benedict. Also I was handed a glass of water with my meal which was a nice touch. Family friendly with water bowls for the dogs and high chairs for the little ones new to this world. Plenty of seating.
My friends picked the place this morning for some brunch. And I've got to say that Rhythm Cafe is amazing. The atmosphere is really free, lively and just comfortable.
The staff are super friendly and patience, and this is saying a lot because a bunch of groggy indecisive girls on a busy Sunday morning isn't the easiest to handle. The food came out fast and is reasonably priced, I would say cheap even. We ordered the Rhythm & Poetry B'fast, Angel Bay Beef Burger, and I think my other friend ordered a salad. The food looked so appetizing when it came out, I'm so used to seeing greasy fried cafe food. This was refreshing, and the food was delicious too; with huge portions.
I would come here again!
The food here is affordable and delicious! I had Jesse's breakfast samba and it was a delight. The eggs were scrambled well - moist and fluffy. I will definitely be back for more !
Always friendly staff and really great coffee, my go to place on a Saturday and Sunday morning
Best cafe in Mairangi bay. Best coffee, with free extra shot. Best food, best eggs Benedict, best hollandaise sauce. Free WiFi is good. Music is usually good. Free newspapers, and enough for everybody. Good light, so easy to read. Love Roy, love May, love Ash, love the whole staff.
Friendly staff, family friendly and the risotto balls with mushroom sauce are amazing!!
I've been going here regularly for as long as they have been there and always had great service and food. Ash is very hospitable and will do anything for you. The food in the cabinet is always nicely presented and tastes good. I order soup and the mushroom ciabatta dish off the menu regularly and am always happy with it. My kids love their big serving of seasoned chips and the big breakfast is enough for two. A good place to meet friends. The birds are there, but they seem to sort them out, they are anywhere you have an outdoor area though.
Highly recommend.
I'm surprised at the reviews on here of Rhythm Cafe. I used to be a morning regular, now they are my go to place for breakfast on the weekend. as long as I've been going there they have only ever had A food safety ratings even after a couple of ownerships changes. Which is something I always check when picking a place to eat.
The food is always nice, and cooked properly, the chef's have gotten it wrong occassionally, but the staff always have fixed it quickly, and they do not have 50 plus meals on the menu. And even if they did how does that suggest their food safety practises are in decline?
I agree about the pidgeons, but I doubt they can do much. They are never on the tables inside, are they allowed to shoot them? I doubt it, they can't poisen them because that would be a osh risk.
If your looking for a great coffee, and nice food prepared from scratch by the chef then check this place out. Its a warm nice atmosphere, friendly staff, the girls on the front seem a bit chatty but the over all experience is a good one. The coffee is really, really good.
and to the person who commented on here:
If you simply don't like it, don't go there. But slamming bussinesses food safety with baseless comment's about how much food is on a menu and pidgeons, I suggest you think before you make a comment. Or atleast elaborate as to why a cafe with a consistent A food safety rating is compromised because it has a big menu?
We ordered a Bacon Benedict and BLAT this afternoon 10/10 service and food. If you want a nice meal with good vibes, definitely recommend trying this hidden gem in Mairangi bay.
Tucked away down in the courtyard is this fabulous cafe that was open on Labor Day, when Miss 10 and I were looking for a bite to eat. A delicious tropical smoothie for her and iced coffee for me, the containers filled to the brim! We shared a basket of fries with aoli and tomato sauce, with thw fries covered in a flavored salt. It was so nice we went back for a second basket.
We sat inside at an open window that overlooked the courtyard. The lovely staff member went outside to serve us through the window with a smile and friendly comment.
We had a lovely time here and felt that we had value for money.
Highly recommend 👌🏻

Great cafe with a good range of counter and freshly cooked options in an indoor or, weather permitting, under an outdoors sun-umbrella shaded seating arrangement. Good coffee and friendly staff. One of my regulars.
Great coffee and delicious Eggs Benedict. Service was fast.
Went for brunch with family, sat outside, very pleasant. Lovely meal, and coffee
Nesa & Eddie are the best cafe owners, I arrive in the morning they know my car and my coffee is made. Totally recommend the Salmon Sambo for brekkie...
A nice cafe hidden away from the main road. Tasty food at reasonable prices.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of seating inside and out. Clean presentation and good food choices.
Food was amazing. I got the Veggie big breakfast without eggs (makes it vegan). My date got the hot cakes, it looked so good (insta worthy, for sure) but he said it tasted even better :D coffees yum and staff super friendly. Prices reasonable, especially compared to the cafes nearby.
Nice coffee, food looked tempting! dog friendly, outside area
Great staff at this cafe. We tend to eat lunch here as a group of friends, every couple of months and I am always impressed by the friendly staff. They also serve nice food at reasonable prices and make great coffee. What more could you ask for.
Owners were very kind and helpful and stayed open especially for us!!! Enjoyed the warm ginger drink and yummy egg and spinach dish! Others enjoyed their tea, coffee, carrot cake, oat slice and bacon and egg panini! We had a lovely time!
