Arrived at opening time 3 pm hungry and thirsty. Welcomed with a happy hour Margarita and beer which were both super tasty. Followed by amazing dip, pulled pork tacos then shared a crunchy burrito thingy. Awesome. Happy hour 3 to 5 pm. Food fresh. Would come back if we were staying for longer.
In ancient folklore Gringa was the queen of frozen margaritas, this is not widely known. Her spirit had been reborn in this busy corner of Mangawhai heads. Careful though, if the spirit of the margarita queen is disturbed too many times she will wreak vengeance upon you (they're strong)
I don't usually give a tip however my sister and I were so impressed with the charm and service of the young lady that I couldn't leave without tipping her. What a delight with her top notch service. . We loved the food and the drinks. Good size serves too. The dessert was delicious too. Thank you
Great place with great prices! Plenty of outdoor seating or indoor! Really great drinks, we had the frozen cocktails. Great tasting and decent portion sizes. Should definately look to book if coming in on a busy night (we went on a Saturday and it was quite full!)

Mexican themed menu and drinks. Inside and covered outdoor dining. Parking all around ( can be tricky in busy times). Bookings advised in peak periods. Well presented food, generous portions. Good ambience. Fair pricing. Pleasant, attentive tea

Best Mexican food I have ever had, never been to Mexico tho but my partner and I are huge fan of tacos and burritos and we have tried basiclly every Mexican restaurant in Auckland and none of them are better than this place.

It was my first time in Mangawhai, hence my first time to eat here at Gringas. This was highly recommended by a local and was super glad we tried ‘em out. This is the best Mexican place I’ve eaten at in NZ, I daresay. We ordered the Quesadilla, TacoTaco + Pork tacos and they were all really good 🤩
Amazing food and clean modern restaurant. Attentive staff. Really impressed. We had the fish tacos, Mexican burrito, coconut margarita and frozen strawberry guava margarita. Seriously delish!
