Thai Nam restaurant has very good food for such a decent price. I came here for lunch today and ordered summer rolls, grilled pork & chicken with rice and beef with rice. I'm pretty happy with the flavours overall. A little different from original vietnamese dishes but taste really good especially the beef with rice. If you are in the area, give them a try, you wont be dissapointed. Additionally, service was pretty good too. FoH staff was friendly and polite. Recommended!

Big fan of pad thai and I can say hands down this is the best place for it in South Auckland maybe even the city 🤷🏽♂️ the other places in the area and surrounding suburbs not only overcharge but the quality and quantity don’t match the price you pay. Thai Nam delivers exceptionally well on all these things and it’s obvious they’ve done their market research because the portion sizes are huge. Ordered the prawn pad thai (and man did they not skimp out on the prawns )and curry puffs and loved both dishes would definitely recommend to a friend, looking forward to going back soon 😋
Just had a chicken banh mi and thai spring rolls for lunch absolutely beautiful.
Freshest ingredients and full of flavor great price too.

Great value for money. This place is cheaper than other Thai places around. The customer service is great and efficient, even via uber eats.
The first lot of food I got wasn't to flash, I ordered Pad Thai and it wasn't overly flavorful and my partner order another meal but wasn't super happy about it. The next time round was amazing though I ordered curry puffs and 'sizzling chicken'.
I will definitely be ordering from here again!
Delicious Viet and Thai cuisines. Pad Thai is great and we tried their delicious beef pho noodles. Worth the money for both quality and quantity. Service is attentive.
Portion size is huge! Biggest bowl of spring roll vermicelli! Very authentic Thai and Vietnamese food, great value and tasty! Highly recommend.

Bahn mi - it was a ‘yummy filled roll’ but unfortunately it was not authentic. It was made without pate (I have never come across a Bahn mi without pate EVER) and the veges were fresh but not pickled. Bun was nice but soft. Not crispy on the outside and soft on the inner like I would have expected. $6 very reasonable for what you got but I don’t think it should be called a Bahn mi.
Beef pho - $11. Very large, clean fresh broth. Could do with some extra meat
Cashew chicken - $13 + $2 for rice. Very good and will return to get more of this :)
I was hesitant to order from here, but I'm glad I came in now.
Ordered the Bánh mi and Chicken satay.
Let me just say that, that was the best $12 that I have ever spent.
Bánh mi baguette was scrumptious and full of meat. The baguette itself was fresh too :-)
Chicken satay skewers were perfect, rich with lots of satay sauce.
Good portion sizes, and you can't go wrong with the price.
Will definitely be back!
Came here on my way to the Airport, as a vegan I find it hard to find places to eat when I’m not from the area. Found this place on Zomato as we wanted to have a meal with my family.
There was no labeled vegan menu but there was vegetarian and the owner was very happy to whip something up for me!
I had the veggie cashew nut and it was delicious, best I’ve ever had in NZ. My family were also very happy with their meals.
The food was 5/5 and the service was even better, great communication about what was in my food and it was great to see the owner come out and talk to the customer.
Will definitely be coming back!

Found this local gem a few stores from ASB Manurewa. This place has only been open for 6 weeks too!
One of my favourite Vietnamese dish is the Banh Mi (Vietnamese Baguette), so i was estatic when this was on the menu.
I ordered the Grilled Pork one, but asked for addition of the Vietnamese ham as it does not come with it. Although this was extra, she added it without cost which was lovely of her (winning).
The bread itself was soft and fresh, although the grilled pork was a tad bit dry, the vietnamese ham and the salad definitely balanced it out. There was a generous amount of meat and well flavoured salad fillings - yum! For $6.00, this was deffs a steal. I personally think this is better than another local vietnamese eatery called “Sprout” for both taste and price.
Can’t wait to try their other dishes!
We ordered takeaways. The restaurant though small, is bright and scrupulously clean, and was a pleasant place to wait while our food was being prepared.. Prompt service, reasonably priced, delicious food - we tried fresh summer rolls, chicken lemongrass on rice and shaking beef on rice. We'll definitely eat from here again.

I was about to eat at a Resturant across the road from this one but lucky I saw this place across the road. I saw the new store and words “Vietnamese Cuisine”(since I love Vietnamese food) and had to try it.
I had never seen it before but it is still new, only had been open for 5-6 weeks now. When you walk in it’s super clean, really nice but you can smell the oil from the kitchen and I knew I’d walk out smelling like strong oil but it’s not bad when you know you’re about to have good food.
I tried the Lemon Grass Chicken on rice and Vietnamese springs rolls and man I was not disappointed at all. Both came out and they were very generous with the portions. Chicken was amazing, rice and salad great mix with the chicken.
But when I saw the Spring Rolls I accidentally said out loud “wow they’re massive” and all the waiter could do was smile. The spring rolls were so good and came out with a sweet but spicy sauce and loved every bite.
All I know is I’ll be back and with my family since we’re big fans of Vietnamese food.
Just trying to support local restaurants and hope they gain more customers over time.

Best food I have tried all weekend!... and we tried a lot of foods while up in Auckland... wonton soup was tasty and the yellow curry has so much flavor... and they don't skim on portions either
Nice atmosphere and the store owner is very welcoming. Do not order through ubereats. Prices are 2-3 dollars more than their listed prices.
This restaurant looked so clean and nice and we were not disappointed. Had a great Prawn Tom Yum soup, wonderful Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Fried Rice with chicken and Pad Thai. We liked that all the vegetables were fresh..no frozen mixed veges here. The food was beautifully flavoured and the best Thai we have had for a long time. The staff are welcoming and eager to ensure that everything is just right. We can recommend this restaurant to dine in or takeaway. Uber seems to be doing a fair bit of deliveries from here as well.
Just had our first Uber Eats delivery from this little hidden treasure. The best Thai / Vietnamese food we have had outside of Thailand. The Tom Yum soup was AMAZING!!!!
Delivery was super quick & food was still piping hot. We will definitely be ordering from here again & will also go to dine in. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AAA++++ 👍 🍲
First time here today and the food was delicious. We had the Wonton noodle soup , combination seafood noodle soup and spring rolls. Servings so big We couldn't finish them off and sprig rolls were so good! Cheaper and better food than every other local Vietnamese restaurant in the area.
Love this place, we are regulars now and enjoy the thai cuisines we order each week. We've eaten in and do take outs and enjoy it either way. Owner and her staff and very hospitable and welcome everyone with smiles. We love thai green curry and pad thai without carrots personal preference and all time favorite. We don't have to drive to Mercury Plaza to have our fave dishes. Totally recommend
Had takeaway today, don't usually go to Manurewa,but passed this place on way to dentist, had thai fried rice and cashew chicken, delicious and great value for money. You can eat in , it looks lovely and clean and service excellent, definitely going back. Will take my friend and eat in.
Great little shop. Enjoyed our meal there. Food was good quality. Nice little menu. Simple and varied. Definitely recommend to others to try. Parking was an issue. It’s Great South Rd, Manurewa so to be expected. There is parking around and a little walk to the shop.

My husband and I dined in yesterday (Sunday) and we are ordering food from here today (Monday) via Uber eats.
I ordered prawn Tom kha and pad Thai, my husband ordered yellow chicken curry and chicken in peanut sauce, and we ordered 5 deep fried wontons, delicious!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Very authentic food and affordable too! The combo of great taste and value for money is undeniable! Never really eat out in Southmall, but this place is worth the trip!
