Had a great ππ» meal at the Red Fox Tavern at Maramarua. Ordered fish and chips with a couple of eggs. Yum, the meal was cooked to perfection. Awesome staff, very welcoming and always smiling. Definitely a place to call in when youβre passing.

Spare of the moment, family get together, food presentation great., amount, good size meals,no problem change fillings etc to suit us. price very reasonable, for the food we ordered. A must to do a return visit, many thanks team, kitchen, plus waiters. Good choice at the bar too.

Iconic kiwi pit stop. Hasn't changed since 1980's and there is nothing wrong with that. Standard pub fare with all the usual suspects. Food is consistently good value and nice. Tap beers and craft, wine, pre mix in the chiller. Garden bar / outside area. Cheap fuel accross the carpark. Recommend been coming here for 30 years. Chill vibes.

Not often I clear my plate. That last chip fell on the ground. Great kiwi pub food, friendly staff, canβt believe weβve lived 2 minutes away for so many years without dropping in. Kid friendly too with a toy area to play with. Definately be coming back soon!
What you see is what you get. The Red Fox isn't trying to be something it isn't. It isn't gourmet and it doesn't need to be. They offer food at a fair price and a good range of beverages.
As I walked into the Red Fox I felt like I had time warped back into the 70βs with all the dated decor, but god that nostalgic feeling got me erect! A cold crisp beer to wet the whiskers, and the beautiful sounds of Aunty Wheromako hitting the $80 jackpot on the piano was as soothing as the waves crashing on a deserted island beach. Staff friendly, service on point. Iβll be back in a jiffy Jeffery.

This is a great stop for a bite to eat. Don't let the rough exterior fool you. The staff are friendly and helpful, the menu is pretty ordinary with burgers, pizza, seafood chowder, garlic bread etc, it was well presented, tasted great and would easily rival any main city pub establishment. And you certainly can't beat the price point. The interior is of an older style, but you can see the locals respect their local pub. Gumboots off at the door, bathrooms were very clean and the interior was well serviced.
The only downside were the potholes in the carpark and entrance
Had a great meal off an extensive menu all exceptional value for money. A very convenient location with friendly staff and a high level of our famous kiwi engagement If any improvement can be gained it would be from the chatter of patronage and carpark lighting.
