We made a pit stop here for brunch before continuing our journey. What I liked most was perfectly cooked bacon was not salty at all. Quick and friendly service, generous fillings and good portions, reasonable price, cleanliness, plenty of parking. What else could I ask for? Certainly recommended.

We were driving from Auckland to Rotorua and needed a stop to refresh and have coffee and breakfast as we left rather early from Auckland without breakfast. Great spot and even better if you enjoy good bacon. I had a bacon mushroom stack for $19, and I couldn't finish it. Fancy being so full, I couldn't finish all the bacon !!!. A happy doggy when I took my leftover bacon back to the car.

In 2023 I had sausages eggs and chips, $19.00 with a drink great value. Excellent sausages, and chips, eggs cooked perfectly

Best bacon butties in New Zealand. I prefer salad with mine, which is optional in the price. There are three rashers in the sandwich. Worthwhile stopping to get one. The is a good selection of dishes on the menu. They also sell bacon and sausages in the shop. Or go through to Pokeno to the butc

Pokeno bacon diner is the best breakfast stop on State highway one. Generous portions of bacon and a killer bacon sandwich with eggs and cheese. I have been stopping here for brekkie for over 10 years and the quality is constant, every time. I think the condiments can improve, hence the four stars.
