When I go on a trip, I definitely visit this place to eat bacon.

Food was great, i ordered Pancakes Savoury and my partner ordered the Delux breakfast + Bacon butties. Plenty of bacon and everything was cooked very well.
Would reccomend, would visit again.
Service was good and meal was YUMMY! We ordered 4 bacon butties, 1 bacon burger, 1 bacon & eggs and 1 bowl of curly fries. I would definitely go back.
Good breakfast. Excellent bacon options. The Treat brekkie is great. Not too big, sausages are delish. The bread is a crap sliced white, everything else is delish.
Only drawback is they don't have any coffee but you can get that next door and bring in.
We made a pit stop here for brunch before continuing our journey. What I liked most was perfectly cooked bacon was not salty at all. Quick and friendly service, generous fillings and good portions, reasonable price, cleanliness, plenty of parking. What else could I ask for? Certainly recommended.
We were driving from Auckland to Rotorua and needed a stop to refresh and have coffee and breakfast as we left rather early from Auckland without breakfast. We also noticed that it appears to be a popular truck stop as well. We ordered of course Pokeno bacon with sunny side fried eggs and toast - yummy! Coffee was good too! Definitely worth a stop if you need a snack and a coffee.
Great spot and even better if you enjoy good bacon. I had a bacon mushroom stack for $19, and I couldn't finish it. Fancy being so full, I couldn't finish all the bacon !!!. A happy doggy when I took my leftover bacon back to the car.
In 2023 I had sausages eggs and chips, $19.00 with a drink great value. Excellent sausages, and chips, eggs cooked perfectly
This place is always so good. Bacon butties and the BLT are not to be missed!
What an amazing bacon experience. Stopped at a rest stop and stumbled across this unique diner. If you love bacon this is your destiny. Wifey opted for a “simple” bacon and eggs. Look what she got
Best bacon butties in New Zealand. I prefer salad with mine, which is optional in the price. There are three rashers in the sandwich. Worthwhile stopping to get one. The is a good selection of dishes on the menu.
They also sell bacon and sausages in the shop. Or go through to Pokeno to the butcher shop for a greater range of products. Also if you buy a certain amount of bacon you can get a discount.
I've seen a number of times now that Pokeno bacon is one of the best in the country, if not the best.
This place is a must stop when driving through Mercer on SH1

Pokeno bacon diner is the best breakfast stop on State highway one. Generous portions of bacon and a killer bacon sandwich with eggs and cheese.
I have been stopping here for brekkie for over 10 years and the quality is constant, every time.
I think the condiments can improve, hence the four stars. Highly recommended.
