Great food, great beers and have the most amazing staff! Love this place!
Four of us went in for drinks, quite a few tables and even a pool table. The wall on the side with the fake glass window was really cute, and created a vibe that made it look like we were drinking in daylight. The APA beer was bitter and tasted strong but had an addictiveness to it. Their beer menu is well described too. The place wasn't rowdy so that was good. Service was great from all staff.

Food: For a craft house their food is pretty damn good. Dare I say just as good as their famous craft beers and cider! They have a lot of the classic pub staples, such as fish and chips etc - but done incredibly well. Plus they also have their own twist on some classics. Their Hop Corn Chicken is some of the best in city! It's bloody good! They also have great sharing plate options as well as some top notch pizzas - the Garlic Chicken Pizza is definitely my favourite! They also have a pretty mean Ginger Beer too.
Service: Overall the service was pretty good. We were greeted and seated right away, even on a busy weekday evening. They were super friendly, and very patient/helpful when we were taking too long to decide. The food came pretty quickly too. The only negative is that no one came to check on us post food arriving. Which wasn't a big deal for us, as everything was great! But usually you'd expect someone to check in on the table to make sure everything was good etc.
Ambiance: It's in a great location, great views over the water and the rest of they bay and overall the ambiance is pretty chill and relaxing. They have a music box on the wall too so there is always good background noise. I love this place!
Would definitely recommend!
Delicious food and great cider ! Awesome price you can’t go wrong here . We got the mission tasting platter and the hop corn chicken between two of us and we were very satisfied .
Awesome rooftop bar! Great drinks, great food and great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and prompt. Dessert I must say the brownie was something else, absolutely amazing! Was super rich but just enough for sharing. Will definitely be visiting this gem again!
Came by for a lunch and it wasn't too busy. They do have seats on the balcony outside but they were full so we had one of the tables by the door.
While looking through the menu the waitress helped us with questions and gave us a brief history lesson about the place like the stained glass windows to commemorate the church where Good George used to brew.
After extensively looking through the menu we decided with the mission platter to share and each had a tasting paddle. We were also given recommendations while picking out the drinks.
The drinks were quite good, the XPA topping my list. The platter was nice particularly the jalapeno poppers (which was why we went with the platter). We also had the s'more brownie and that was also quite good. I thought that the marshmallow had the right amount of crispness and meltiness.
There was also a TV by the pillar going outside which looked like you could pick the music. Really nice location and the food and drinks are quite nice. The service was also really good, although I did have to quickly finish off a brownie since they were waiting for the last plate.
If you are looking for a chill place with good food at mission bay, this place is it. It's got a good ambience and vibe and courteous staff. We were three people and we ordered lager beer jug which was quite nice and strong. The jug will serve three full glasses. We ordered a half chicken and half venison pizza. If you are an indian, you might find it a little bland. The venison meat was soft and well cooked, chicken was wonderful. We also ordered salad bowl which you must try only if you have a taste for it. The jalepeno poppers were okayish, and it's quantity sucked. All in all good place but expensive as it was at mission bay. Totally it costed us 86NZD
The food was tasty, have to recommend the hopcorn chicken and the squid. The beers were good, the place has good atmosphere and staff were friendly.
Have been here a number of times and it’s always a pleasant experience. The mushroom pizza was delicious, had a good amount of mushrooms on it but not a lot of depth in flavour. The onion rings were very average. The onion was soggy, no crunch and coating was oily with no flavour to it. The service was good but they were definitely short staffed. One or two more staff would have eased pressure on the others. There is a variety of craft beers and ciders to choose from. There is plenty of good people watching and views to be had. Parking on the weekends can be a bit of a nightmare. Definitely worth going to.
My visit to Good George in Mission Bay was a fantastic experience. Situated with a stunning view overlooking Mission Bay, the setting itself was enough to create a wonderful atmosphere.
The highlight of Good George was the impressive variety of hops available, catering to all kinds of beer enthusiasts. As for the food, the burgers were an absolute delight – delicious and satisfying in every bite.
Adding to the charm of the evening was a live band that entertained us throughout our visit. The music elevated the overall experience and provided a lively backdrop to the evening.
The service at Good George was also commendable. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met and making the entire evening even more enjoyable.
In conclusion, Good George in Mission Bay offers a delightful combination of breathtaking views, a wide selection of hops, mouthwatering burgers, live entertainment, and great service. It's an excellent destination for a memorable dining experience by the bay.
Went there for a birthday dinner. Friendly wait staff and bar staff, relaxing ambiance, good food and cocktail. Highly recommend the Elderflower Gin. Food was good and generous portion. Prices are good for the location and quality. Gave it 4 star instead of 5 was because they promptly serve up 5 of our food orders and the other 6 orders did arrive till 5 of us almost finished our meal and we asked them for the second time about the missing meals.
Rather lovely brewers pub with brilliant beers, an extensive range of ciders and generic pub food. The crispy squid was actually one of the better versions I’ve had, with light batter and bouncy flesh. The chicken wings had no substance, they were spice, skin and oil. They were not dry, but lacked all juiciness and had no bones. They were more like pork scratchings than chicken wings in density and texture. The view is beautiful; sea views from the balcony in Mission Bay, but the pool table is the only real treat. There are quite a few pesky flies around - but the table service is quick, professional and kindly. Not a bad spot to stop if your wallet allows - with $15 glasses of beer (not full pints) it’s more of a treat than a local.
Fantastic team, they were so lovely on sat night when we had our daughters birthday dinner there. The live band sung her happy birthday, the team were helpful and friendly. All around 10/10! Thanks guys

This place is awesome! I really had a great time. The staff were really attentive, especially when they saw I was dining alone.
There is ample seating and they have a deck outside with great views and a lovely breeze.
They have an extensive menu and drinks list, including wine, beer, cocktails, non alcoholic, and hot beverages.
I was very happy with their pricing and portion sizes. Their jalapeno poppers were to die for! The coleslaw was so fresh and tasty. Everything was delicious.
I liked the descriptions they give of the beer, so you know what to expect. I had the Rosé, which surprised me. I thought it would be sweet, but it was tart and delicious. I also had what I think was some sort of frozen margarita. It was really good, especially on a humid day.
I will definitely be back
Came here after a horrific experience at DeFontein across the road.
The atmosphere was amazing! So welcoming and warm. The beer was nice and crisp and the loaded fries of the lady sitting next to me looked amazing!
Def recommend for a chill one after the beach !
Loved our Fathers day lunch. We turned up, last minute without a booking and weren't turned away. The staff were amazing, attentive, quick and polite. They were happy to squeeze us in. The food was delish and we will definitely be back for some more of that yummy cheesy garlic bread. Yum. 5 stars all round ✨️
Had our daughter’s first birthday here in their private function area. Initially worried about having it at a pub, but was very private and cute setting. Food is good. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Sample rack ciders were worth the $19 spent on it. Very friendly staff members and service was great.
However I probably won't buy the Easter special martini again. I dont feel it was worth the $20 I paid for it.
