We came here on a Wednesday night about an hour after they opened for dinner. This used to be a church and after redesigning the interior, it’s spacious and feels lively. The waitress was very knowledgeable and her service was top notch which started off the evening nicely.
Between 2, we ordered the grilled eggplant as starters, crispy soft shell crab, crispy pork hock, lamb baharat curry, Asian slaw, and desserts we had the Bibingka and the pandan parfait (yes that’s a lot for just 2 people, but we did it). We also had to join another table to ours to make space lol.
The grilled eggplant was a half of a whole that’s sliced in diamond shapes like a mango. The garlic and coriander toppings with a light sweet and sour dressing made the dish light and tasty.
The soft shell crabs was the best I’ve had as I had no problems chewing it and it really lived up to the name. The crab was meaty and the little curry sauce made it tastier.
The pork hock was recommended by the waitress. You eat it like a soft shell taco and what made the already crispy pork even nicer was the sweet and sour salsa sauce that came with it, and the lettuce which balances out the oily meat. It was so nice we wished we’d get more sauce.
The lamb curry, probably my favorite of the night, although a bit thick, was still a good creamy dish as the lamb was very tender and the potatoes and carrots were soft. The dish comes with their crispy roti which goes very very well with the curry as it soaks some of it in your mouth.
The Asian slaw, sweet and sour, was a juicy yet light dressed slaw that’s crunchy in your mouth - it was delicious and balanced out all the other meaty dishes (my friend loved it).
For desserts, the pandan parfait played the warm dessert for winter as the warm cake with pears on top was sweet and melts in your mouth. The bibingka was an inbetweener as it had a little mix of every flavor - sweet, sour, salty, creamy.
The price came down to $117 which was very very reasonable, cheap actually, for 5 dishes and 2 desserts. It was a very good evening. Wish the piano worked though.

Such a gorgeous restaurant tucked on a corner on Dominion Road! So sad to hear the news that they’ll be permanently closing their doors at the end of January! This is a 10/10 Restaurant that is faultless! It’s absolutely beautiful inside, they even have a little piano tucked in the corner at the back!
We got Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Crispy Pork Hock, Lamb Curry from their Mains/To Share; and Grilled Eggplant and Asian Slaw from Entree/Sides. For dessert we got the Pandan Parfait and Bibingka. A lot of food for just two people!
As the food began rolling out, I was getting really excited because everything was nicely presented and fresh from the kitchen.
Soft Shell Crab is by far one of THE best I’ve had in Auckland, and I’ve had a lot of Soft Shell Crab. Crunchy, well seasoned and sits in a bed of creamy coconut curry which was such a delight! 10/10
Pork Hock was good! It comes with Soft Shell tacos and sides of lettuce and this amazing tangy salsa sauce. The meat was juicy and tender and skin was crunchy; massive portion and perfect to share between people! 9/10
Lamb Curry was deeeeelicious! Generous lamb : curry ratio with carrots and potatoes, all soft and tender. Curry comes with their Roti which was Crispy, flaky and oh-so-good! Lamb was cooked to perfection, it melts in the mouth! Curry itself was creamy and smooth. I would recommend having a side of coconut rice to soak it all up! 9/10
Asian Slaw was the BEST Asian Slaw I’ve had to date! Slaw can easily be too “loose” and fall apart just before you bring the forkful to your mouth. Their one is dense and juicy and well-dressed! I don’t know how they do it but it’s pulled together really well it doesn’t even taste like a slaw! 10/10
Grilled eggplant was interesting; texture wise it was juicy but soft, and the lemon oil dressing added the perfect touch of “life” to it! Small chopped up garlic also spritzed up the flavours. 9/10
Desserts; the pandan parfait is a warm cake with caramelised pear, crushed walnuts and biscuit. The warmth of the cake melts the cream, combined with the crunch of the crushed goodness and the syrup—sends you to heaven.
Bibingka cleverly plays between citrus, honey-sweet and bittersweet. Zesty orange pieces and the milk pudding worked really well; and the burnt honeycomb pieces plus the ice cream will make a party go off on your palate!
All of this will set you back by $117, which I think is an amazingly reasonably price for the excellent dining experience!
Service was absolutely top-notch, everything was perfect and it honestly is such a pity to see them go! I’ll try to visit again for sure!

Saw a vid of their crunchy puff by King of Cheat Meals on facebook and that was enough to entice me here.
Ambience is really nice, modern and sleek although the backs on the seats didn't seem that supportive but they look good. I liked the fairly upbeat music being played softly. Service is great, they were friendly and always smiling.
To drink we had that night's special (an apricot cocktail) and a Manhattan up with the Grilled Eggplant, Mushroom Ragout, Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Crispy Pork Hock, Pandan parfait and Crunchy Puff of course.
Everything came out in just about no time although we were the first people there for the dinner service. We held out all day to eat here so hence many large dishes but they were all delicious and completely satisfying. My favourite was definitely the Crispy Pork Hock, the skin was crispy not glass like but still pretty good and the meat was tender/juicy without being greasy or gelatinous at all.
I only have 2 small things that I personally didn't like but they could have been intended to be that way. The eggplant could have been cooked more, like really over cooked, I really enjoy that melt in the mouth texture, it was a bit tough/under cooked but still tasty. The mandarin segments in the Pandan parfait were dry and sour, again could have been used as a contrast in the dish but it wasn't something I liked in it.
Overall really great dining experience, will be back again.

Fusion restaurant with easy parking (i.e.not in the CBD). The food was different, didn't really WOW'd us, but not bad. Slightly average on the taste, no dish really stood out to us. We had 3 starter, 2 mains and 1 side for 3 people, reasonable priced~ The staff was lovely and very attentive. Lovely environment~
I hate Zomato, but I downloaded the app just so I could help you all know how totally worth a visit this place is (my bf is younger than me and apparently Zomato is the app to use, and now that I've downloaded it I'm quietly impressed, but I digress).
I made a booking for 10 people, and we were seated at a table in the front, separate from the main seating area, which meant that our boisterousness (aka pre-drinking) didn't unduly impact on the the other guests.
Food: On the small side, but filling, and tasty. $35-45 for entree + main, can't complain.
Service: If this was America I would have tipped but not felt salty about it. Attentive but not over-attentive, they nailed it.
Wine: Actual decent wine for $40-50ish a bottle.
Summary: Whoever owns this place has done a great job of balancing price with great service and tasty, affordable food. I can't speak highly enough about the staff on the night we visited (26 Oct), thank you to them, the chef and anyone else who played a part in our dining experience.
We heard good reviews about this place and would agree about their excellent service, warm and inviting ambience and great food! We went there for lunch and tried the Sisig Arancini, Gochujang Roast Chicken and BBQ Pork Ribs. Both comes with coconut rice. They are all well-presented and delicious. The chicken and ribs are juicy and tender. The sisig arancini is a crumbed rice ball with pork sisig inside is tasty and a great starter. We will definitely come back to try their dinner menu.
One of the best dining experiences we’ve had to date! My partner and I visited A’meza on a weeknight for dinner and the standard of food and service was excellent. We couldn’t have asked for better in terms of service. Both the ladies that served us was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I made our reservation online via their website which was super easy to use and convenient – exactly want you want. The restaurant is a renovated church with a high ceiling. They have done a great job with the space and we loved the modern but homely feel to it.
Their menu isn’t long but it’s not a bad thing as there are plenty of appetising options. They have a good wine and beverage menu too with a nice selection of cocktails and even a ‘customised’ gin and tonic menu to suit your preference. We tried the Malee Tonic which was a mix of Gin, Midori, tonic and mint. It was so easy to drink and the perfect balance of flavours…yum!
We ordered four dishes to share between the two of us and that was plenty! Haloumi chips, kumara fritter sliders, mapo tofu and the grilled eggplant. The star dish of the night was the kumara sliders. The kumara fritter was crispy and delicious! Sandwiched in a brioche bun with kimchi cucumber and spicy coconut sauce, I would be happy to have just these for a main dish. The eggplant was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed the miso dressing and roasted peanuts. The mapo tofu wasn’t a traditional dish but we enjoyed it more, served with mushroom miso ragout, green beans and butternut in a thick tomato based sauce. We were also lucky enough to try their Pandesal which is a Filipino breakfast bread, compliments of the chef. The bread was delicious and freshly made. Slightly sweet the buns were served with creamy milk curd and lavender salt – a very delicate texture and taste but it paired perfectly melting into the bread.
A’meza is definitely worth the visit and is now one if not my favorite restaurant in the area. We will be sure to visit again to try out their desserts and even their 5 course dinner menu. If they can keep up this high standard they will be sure to please. Thanks for having us and keep up the great work! Two thumbs up from me :)
I’m a Filipino who loves to eat, cook for friends and family and try new restaurants. So, i know what great food tastes like, and A’meza did not disappoint. Their ambience was inviting and modern, their staff very friendly and warm, and the food... let’s start with the gin pomelo drink - their version transported me to the days when we used to hangout with friends and share a pitcher (or five). Then their Pan de Sal literally brought on a few tears as it flew us back home. The bread was hot, fresh and really tasty. It was epic. Their Lamb caldereta is a modern take on a classic dish. Packed with flavour and tender meat. We had two plates of another epic dish - soft shell crab sliders. Crunchy soft shell crab on a tiny soft brioche bun with a sauce that is slightly salty and spicy but goes well with the crab. One of the staff, Leah, made sure that we had everything we needed and provided fantastic service. It was our first time here and it was on a random “lets-try-that-place” night, but will definitely be back!!! Thanks!!!
Our second time here in Ameza. We all enjoyed the food.My wife ordered bbq pork spare ribs& I ordered stuffed squid! Which is my favourite meal now! So nice, and the longganisa inside the squid is so delicious. Can't wait to go back again.
Well done Ameza, keep it the good work 👍🏻

First impressions last long. This place is the best! I am going to make this short and sweet.
The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. They greet you with smiles the entire time that you are in their premise. They are very helpful with the menu and everything else that you may be wondering about.
The food are DIVINE!!!!
I recommend this resto to everyone I know and will definitely be coming back again and again and again. 100%
Beautiful Asian-fusion menu with lots of Filipino influences, my husband and I went there for dinner and had the bulgogi meatballs, sinigang nage, grilled eggplant, chicken longganisa and padan parfait with burnt honey. All were presented beautifully and tasted unique with great flavours. Would definitely recommend the sinigang and finishing off your meal with the padan partfait dessert! A new favourite of ours, will definitely be going back!
I am so unbelievably impressed!!!!
This would have to be one of the best meals i have ever had, every dish each of us got was impeccable making it impossible to choose a favorite. Regarding the service...I have worked in the hospitality industry for 9 years and cannot help but judge service everywhere I go. The service at Ameza was faultless. Our waitress was so friendly, attentive and knew the menu inside and out. Welldone and thank you for a great night Ameza, I will be recommending you to anyone and everyone and will most certainly be back to try the new menu next week.
Lovely new addition to Dominion Rd. Fast, friendly service. Interesting fusion food not usually seen in Auckland. Great presentation. My only gripe would be that the room feels very sterile. A renovation adding warmth to the room would be great

Awesome restaurant! Beautiful food and great service. I would definitely recommend you give Ameza a try. I had the hapuka main and it was outstanding. The egg plant with miso paste was also top notch! The panacotta I had for dessert was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Even better is that is just around the corner and absolutely no parking issues. We will be back!
Tried this place on a rainy weekday afternoon. No one else was in the restaurant on our arrival. Instead of seating us at the heart of the restaurant where plenty of tables lay empty, we were seated in the drafty front annex even though we asked to sit inside. Menu was short surprisingly short with Filipino influences displayed throughout. A tad on the expensive side for what you get. Pleasant enough to eat, but nothing stood out. I was happy with the chicken, but my companion's meal was minuscule. This is not the place to order a la carte if you've got an appetite. We topped up with two sides and my dinner mate had a dessert. We left feeling hungry. Service was courteous and prompt so could not be faulted. Dish of the night was the bread.
My husband absolutely loved the Prawn and Laksa Risotto dish. The flavours of the Tom Yum Chawamushi was amazing but I was not used to the texture of chawamushi. I would go back and try the rest of the menu.
I saw the Denzien's write up on this new restaurant on their website and instantly new I had to come and check it out. The owners and staff are from the Philippines, however the menu is worldly, offering different cultured flavours such as Italian, coriander gnocchi, or Malaysian laksa risotto.
We ordered the house baked Pandesal with milk curd and lavender salt to start. Pandesal is a Filipino bread with a slight sweetness to it which I've never actually tried despite being half Filipino myself, but wow it was truly delicious! Still hot from the oven, crusty on the outside and soft/fluffy in the middle. This paired with the creamy milk curd and lavender salt was perfection. I had never heard of lavender salt before but the taste was so unique and different, I loved it!
I also ordered the prawn beignets and oxtail cannelloni, these dishes were ok, didn't wow me but the duck breast main with matcha rice, sambal sauce and bamboo was incredible. The duck was cooked perfectly, probably the most tender duck meat I've ever had, pink in colour, moist, and just melted in my mouth. The matcha rice was amazing too, very flavourful and the matcha flavour really stood out. All components in this dish worked great together. My friends all really enjoyed their meals too and we all agreed the food was different and well worth a visit.
We've been trying out our local restaurants on Dominion Road and A'Meza opened a few weeks ago, having been a cafe and church over the years. The new owners (who are from the Philippines) have done a nice job of design and lay-out.
The food was really good - South East Asian based, with great flavour and texture combinations. Definitely out of the ordinary. Well presented. Friendly, helpful staff.
We'll certainly go back. Enjoyable meal in nice local restaurant. Big smile. Strongly recommend.
Great new place! Very nice design and very open. It used to be a church so it has very high ceiling, creating an very open feel.
The bread rolls (and butter) are apparently homemade! Entree and Mains were very nice and plated very well! Very nice menu - modern fusion style cuisine.
Waitresses were polite and attentive to our needs.
Overall I really enjoyed my night there. Would strongly recommend

Great dinner location and decently priced (c.$14 for entrees, $35 for mains and $12 for desserts). Food had so many different flavours which all complemented the meal as a whole.
Had dinner here with friends, absolutely fantastic.
Just wish we had taken photos of the food before eating, fantastic presentation and flavours. Definite Asian influence with contemporary influences
Great asset to the neighbourhood for dinner, good food, reasonably priced, and nice decor
The pandesal was a stunner. The food and ambiance was great. The desserts was presented pretty well.
Great food as always. The summer menu was great. Very refreshing!
Quite pricey, but the food tastes amazing and the serving sizes aren't too small.
What a delight?! Exquisite, fresh flavours that jump off the plate and won't weigh you down; beautifully presented; gracious, attentive and unobtrusive service; relaxed ambience and ridiculously inexpensive for such a wonderful dining experience. Open for lunch and dinner. Divine vegetarian options, even for non-vegetarians. It could very easily become a go-to cafe (if it isn't already) for locals and I can totally see why!
The food is excellent and the service is excellent. We came for mother's day and right from the entree to the dessert the food had many exotic flavours and definitely took me on a beautiful journey. Absolutely deserves 5 stars from me. I'd come back for sure. Thank you ameza for the journey 😁
I am so unbelievably impressed!!!!

OUTSTANDING
We was very happy to be there tonight, the food was amazing. Great ingredients and great service. The cocktails were also very enjoyable!
We'll be coming back for sure
Good ambience with modern decor. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Child friendly. The cuisine is more fusion I felt with interesting flavours. Small menu only
A'Meza can you move closer to where I live. What an explosion of flavours. The food here not only tastes good it is beautifully presented. On top of that the service is warm and welcoming and the wine is paired perfectly due to Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas. A'Meza Sliders, DoenJang Chicken Wings, Asian Slaw, Warm Duck Salad and 5 Spiced Pork are winners. The restaurant is a pleasure to take friends to.
Second visit and left as impressed as the first. Eggplant was fantastic and on par with the best restaurants. Desert looked and tasted super.
Fine dining at its best! Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Good selection of food, wine and beer. The best part was the great background music
Fantastic food, and friendly staff. Their smaller dishes are standout for me. I'll be back.
Delicious starters and mains, and the dessert (butterscotch pannacotta) had us wishing we'd ordered one each, rather than shared!
Awesome service, food and ambience! Our new favourite date night place. A wonderful gem in dominion road.
