Maria, Emilio and their wonderful team really know what excellent cuisine and hospitality is all about . Every menu item is delicious from the rib eye on the bone, to authentic pasta , tender scaloppine , perfectly cooked fish and the brilliant pizzas . You are assured of a warm welcome and friendly, engaged service at this atmospheric slice of the mediterranean/ adriatic in beautiful Murrays Bay. For those with a larger group the private room taking up to twelve is a great option . We are regular visitors to the main part of the restaurant but chose the private room for my wifes birthday celebrations . This worked brilliantly. La Spiaggia is very popular for a reason so make sure you book !

We went to the La Spiaggia in Murrays Bay last week to celebrate a birthday that had been delayed due to the current situation. We had read a number of very positive reviews about the food and were very much looking forward to it, and can truly say it exceeded our expectations. One of us loves red meat especially large steaks so the 500 grams rib eye on the menu made an easy choice. We went for the Garlic & parmesan pizza bread and Mustard chicken crepe to share as an entree, followed by the 500 gram Rib Eye on the bone with mushroom sauce, and the slow cooked pork belly. All dishes were delicious , well seasoned and a generous size. The steak was cooked perfectly blue and was devoured eagerly - right to the gnawing of the bones. The pork also was cooked to perfection with fats being rendered leaving a succulent piece of meat and crisp crackling. The vegetables with the pork were a great accompaniment and included, potatoes, carrots, broccolini, radishes and green beans. The pizza bread was the best that we have had and the chicken crepe was substantial, with large chunks of chicken and a lively mustardy taste. We were full at the completion of our meal, so we took a tiramisu to go and enjoyed that the following day. The ambience was warm and welcoming and the service was excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially for lovers of Italian cuisine.

So Enjoyable - Our evening was celebrating mine and my sons Birthday - 10 of us Maria gave us the side room. So lovely the children enjoying real italian dishes Spaghetti Bolognese and Margherita Pizas. We were greeted warmly by Maria and her husband and seated.. Nothing was too much trouble the sevice was great our waitress was very helpful making sure our little people got there food first..- Maria's husband took our orders and explained the menu to us in his enthusiastic manner.. our group all tried different dishes on the menu - the slow roasted Pork Belly is to die for - the Gnocchi 4 cheeses beautiful and light - i enjoyed the seafood pasta dish Linguine Marinara which was loaded with king prawns, mussels,clams - A nice surprise was mine and my sons desert came out with a birthday candle. This is such a popular restaurant and not surprising with such beautiful dishes. - we all left feeling like we had enjoyed a wonderful meal...What a great venue across the road from Murrays bay beach.
Nice and cosy atmosphere, super friendly staff. I had bone in ribeye which was juicy and packed with flavors, and freshly baked pizzas were one of the nicest gourmet pizza that I ever had. Very good to have this superb restaurant around our neighborhoods.
Great food, great service, I really can’t fault this place! Highly recommend for anyone looking for some quality Italian food! The owners are also awesome and always ensure we have a great experience. This is our family’s favourite restaurant for sure!
Excellent meal, very friendly staff and overall a great restaurant. It was very noisy on the Saturday night we were there but it was worth visiting as the food was so good.

A superb new restaurant on the shore. As soon as you walk in the door, you know you are going to have a good experience. The Italian lady (I assume one of the owners) will warmly welcome you. The food is very very tasty and service excellent. Good for casual dining or a special night out. Oh, and a fantastic view out to sea.
We visited tonight. The food was fabulous. The service was attentive and quick considering how busy they were. The chicken crepe was light and fluffy the sauce was delicious. My husband enjoyed his veal. The radish on the cooked veges was a little confusing, and apart from some spelling errors in the menu, we will be back.
Lovely food and service with a beautiful view. The Ferrero Roche cheesecake was especially delicious! I will definitely be returning in the future.
I guess La Spiaggia can be considered our local considering it is only 5 mins walk away and we had intended on visiting for some time. Well last night was that time and we weren’t disappointed. Obviously many others weren’t either given the full restaurant and boisterous atmosphere.
We were given a table with a view out over the ocean (stunning) and sat down to enjoy some tasty and authentic Italian fare. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. I did make a slight error in judgement deciding to order the Chicken Liver entree. Not that it was bad. Far from it. The Marsala sauce was yummy. The issue was I haven’t had Livers since I was a kid and didn’t like them then and realised I still don’t like them.
The overall service was great. Even though it was noticeable they had a few new staff members they all tried hard and were very pleasant.
Overall a throughly enjoyable night and a restaurant we will definitely frequent.
Good quality Italian food. The hostess was very friendly. We were delighted to find a puttanesca pizza and calzone, both of which were excellent. I also had the scalopine Marsala which was very tasty.
An impromptu evening to a new restaurant in Murray’s Bay did not disappoint. Maria and her staff were attentive and the food was flavoursome and did not disappoint. Will definitely return. Dishes highly recommended tortellini with mushrooms and chicken and the gamberoni. The dessert, incredible!! Nutella and Ferraro Rocher Cheesecake made that morning by Maria was a delight on the tastebuds. Plan to walk home...! 😊 Overall a pleasant and rewarding experience. Well done. I was beyond excited when I heard that the owners of this restaurant were opening another place when they have such a brilliant reputation from owning a popular restaurant in takapuna for years! They have the most incredible pizzas, Garlic bread and pasta 😍 amazing service with humble, friendly and caring staff that really make you feel at home! Would recommend to everyone! Plus the view of the ocean while you are enjoying some spectacular Italian food is a bonus!

Great little Italian restaurant with huge windows overlooking Murrays Bay. We (party of 4) were welcomed by the staff and drinks orders swiftly taken and brought to the table. Great Aperol Spritz BTW! Menu is not overly large, but has great selection of Italian fare. My husband and I shared a chicken crepe (the sauce was to die for) and our son and his girlfriend shared the calamari which was served with a rather unusual, but delicious, tomato type sauce. Mains were pasta, pasta and more pasta! Was all very delicious and tasty. Service of mains was a wee bit slow as myself and my son's girlfriend has requested gluten free pasta. We were warned that this would take a bit longer as it had to be prepared separately, so we didn't mind the longer than normal wait. All four of us shared a Ferraro Rocher cheesecake which was enormous but the perfect way to finish a delicious meal. All in all a great experience on a very hot and muggy Auckland evening - thoroughly enjoyed the breeze from the windows and watching the sun set on the water! We shall return!!!

Came here for dinner, amazing restaurant with delicious food and an even better view! We got the Tortellini, Pork Belly, Prosciutto & Pear pizza & the fish. Will definitely be coming back.
Really cute place. Food is YUM! Got the Polo Parmagiana and it was so tasty... owners were great too and ensured everything is ok... great view of the water and great atmosphere! Would definitely recommend this place!

Best New restaurant on the Shore! This restaurant has recently opened. It is a family run authentic Italian/Mediterranean. The premises have been well renovated and it looks includes a wood fired pizza oven. The food here is amazing and one of the nicest restaurant meals I have had in a while. Being family run, the service is personal and with passion. This restaurant is a gem and We will definitely be back.
Great for classic Italian flavours and generous portions. The spaghetti bolognese was super flavourful, and the wood fired pizza was great, however the stand out was actually the Nutella cheesecake. Sweet and rich without being overwhelming.
The only downside is due to the popularity they are super busy which gives a pretty chaotic vibe, and makes you feel rushed. It’s also very noisy so it can be hard to hear your dining companions. Overall, good food but we’d probably just get it to takeaway next time and sit with a lovely red wine at home to enjoy.
I have walked past this restaurant many times, assuming it is just one with great location. I realized I am totally wrong when I cannot find a car park on a Wednesday night.

Favourite Italian restaurant in Auckland!! Everything is amazing but especially recommend the pizzas and lasagna… their red sauce is so fresh with stong and delicious tomato flavours, always a family favourite<3 They are always so busy so make sure you book ahead.
What a wonderful venue for my birthday, they were most accommodating with putting two tables together for our friends that we ran into at the restaurant and they even sang for my birthday. Got a free little ice cream too. Everything was superb. Our waitress, Angelina had been absolutely excellent in serving us.

I can wholeheartedly say... after visiting pizza places all around the world (literally), La Spiaggia is the home of the number one Pizza. Period.
Truly, the best Margherita pizza, in Auckland... no, New Zealand!
And don't even get me started on the Tiramisu absolutely mouth watering. Pair this with a scoop of Gelato and you'll sleep like a baby!

I ordered Ravioli. The stuffing was perfect, cooked al dente, and the sauce was freshly made and super authentic.
I shared tuscany Pizza with my partner. Decent amount of toppings and cheese. It was a little bit salty for my taste buds, but it was fine.
The atmosphere was nice and cozy. However, it was a bit loud, so you might find it hard to chat without raising your voice, lol
Overall, 8.5/10 will dine again.

I was there for dinner and had the gamberoni pasta and the La Spiaggia chocolate cake. Service was great, the ladies there were very friendly and wonderful. Food was amazing! The portions are massive so I was so full afterwards but totally worth it. That pasta with giant prawns was so yummy. If you go there I recommend you go early, around 6pm and book in advance as they are very popular. I could also see a lovely beach sunset from the restaurant so that was a bonus.
