Overall, a great location serving pretty good food, with very nice service.
The menu is quite large, with plenty of offerings for every palate and appetite. The beers on tap are good, and served in great glassware. We enjoyed a few shared dishes, and the Thai chilli mussels were more-ish, and we found the salt and pepper squid serving was tasty, and a little lean on the serving size. Offers lots of seatings options, both indoor and outdoor. Reasonable prices for food and drinks, and a million dollar view of the popular foreshore. A solid 3.5/5

Cool restaurant with an awesome ocean view! Have been there one a couple of occasions and always enjoyed myself. Fries from there are some of the best in the bay!

We did happen to order the chicken wings (they are breaded) looked delicious but we couldn't eat em... removed quickly and took em off. If I could... I would! But it was fine big portions made our belly's full and happy.
Boardwalk burger, protein style, yum!! Tacos with pork were decent but the view was out of this world. Pulled pork tortilla combo was a bit strange but we will get 2 burgers next time.

Lovely place to sit by the ocean! Primo food, fast and friendly service. So much choice on the menu and even though some things can seem a bit pricy you do get a decent serving for your money. I only ordered one of the cheaper meals ($16 fish tacos) but it was quite decently sized and included fries too. Will be coming back here next time I’m in Napier!

Very enjoyable meal, I had the chicken stir fry with hoikken noddle which was one of the chefs specials for the week. The flavour was delicious and was pleasant on my taste buds. The service was ok but nothing special. My step fathers fish and chips where slightly under cooked and my mother's chowder didn't have many shrimps. My only other complaint is that there weren't many vegetarian options for my sister. She ended up having and buger with no patty which she says was ok. Overall we all did have a good time
Good quick service. The steak and chicken parmigana were great. Staff all very polite and the restaurant has different areas to choose where to dine, and you don't feel crowded. Would go back for another meal.
Nathan. Went for lunch with the family 4 kids and for 4 adults service staff good but had to wait for meal but worth the wait great value for money. Was looking for some great seafood for a evening meal around Napier only place was the Broadwalk we booked lucky arrived with the gang again a wait but we ordered the antipasta for starters the fishermans basket for 4 and the cold seafood plate for 4 . The meals came out enough to feed a army but fresh and great . If you're in Napier must go sit back enjoy and don't worry about the wait
Incredible service, even during a busy time. They put in the extra effort whenever possible. Food just melted in your mouth. Couldn't recommend any more.
Called in, looked at menu. Rang back later and asked for booking for 3pax next day, inside but with views.
Arrived on time next day, table was exactly what I'd asked for. Staff friendly, and helpful. Drinks, menus, ordering and meals served - all very timely. Staff were flat out bringing groups in and out due to weather but it all happened with smiling faces. The team here are well trained and happy in their work!!

My parents and I went here for the first time for dinner and it was incredible. The food was great, I especially loved the scallops. The salad was to die for and their beef Wellington was really nice. Everything was hot when it came out and the staff were friendly and didn't rush us or keep coming over. It was good and I personally think the food is worth the price. The wait time was normal for a busy restaurant and the view was great!
All round it was a really nice dinner and ill definitely go back again when I'm in Napier ! :)

My partner and I went there for lunch on sunday, it was busy but the staff were very good and our food arrived fast. Delicious food - very generous, we ordered Bruschetta and Fish and Chips. I cant believe it took us this long to try such a fabulous restaurant! I assure you we will be back
We dined at here as a family on Saturday night and had a great experience. Only slight downside was our Salt and Pepper squid starter that was OK but under-seasoned and not very crispy, otherwise the whole experience was excellent. For once, we ordered from a kids menu and got fantastic, not rubbish - fresh, well-made meals that had time and effort put into them. Our mains were absolutely delicious and the service was great, right down to the children's meals being brought out nice and early with activity bags containing all the things guaranteed to keep kids quietly happy and entertained so Mum and Dad (and other diners) could relax and enjoy the evening. Great family evening out and highly recommended for others looking for the same.
Has to be the best location in the bay! Excellent friendly staff, creative menu. Delicious I'll be back.
My partner and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this restaurant on Saturday the 5th of May. We were part of a larger group celebrating his daughters 21st, and we could not have wished for a better place to do that!
The first positive was the venue itself - what a superb setting and location. The area they had arranged for us was set perfectly with fairy lights and tealights on the tables creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
To add to this each member of staff we dealt with was professional without being standoffish. Some of us actually felt we were laughing and chatting with old acquaintances!
Then came the food - WOW!! We had a set menu with a choice of either chicken, fish or steak. At our table we tasted some of each meal and would've happily had a sample plate of each as it was hard to say which was the best.
I can honestly say we could not find fault with ANY part of the entire experience and would recommend this restaurant without hesitation!!
We recently spent the weekend in Napier and went out to dinner at Boardwalk Beach Restaurant & Bar on the Saturday night. The food was wonderful and service great. Good location and easy to find. The waitress who looked after us was just lovely, in fact all the staff were friendly. Meal was good value for money. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I see some low-star ratings in the past for this restaurant, but when I went with another couple with a 4yo boy it simply couldn't have been a better dining out.
The generously portioned entrees were all so very yummy (best pork ribs I've ever tasted, great calamari, chips, beautiful sauce on the prawn&chorizo skewers, bite-sized pork-belly yum yum)
Then the fish (blue nose) main dish was cooked to perfection!!
So fresh ingredients and service met a high standard - this pl is more than what you'd normally expect out of a local city restaurant. Plus it's right on the waterfront w a charming holiday-house feel interior. This is my favourite restaurant in Napier city so far.
Taking kids out is always a challenge and I have to say the Boardwalk certainly is doing a great job in this area. We went for lunch as a group of eight and the kids meals and goody bags were awesome. Our meals were all delicious. A great spot - well done.

Delicious food. We’ll be back!! Friendly staff. Took quite a while for a waitress to come take our order, but there were signs up saying they were hiring - so it’s understandable. Seafood was amazing!
Amazing vegetarian lasagna and crumbed Camembert. Great vibe. Great price for food! Great service. Only thing was my cocktails (expresso martini) tasted like they had no alcohol at $18 each.
We had the shared bowls - 4 for $70. Excellent value for a lunch for 3 people. The staff were run off their feet but they all kept their cool and were very lovely. They deserve a bonus for days like that. I will definitely go back there

Three of us have just dined here. I'm on holiday here for the week. The meal here was outstanding. Food was so fresh and well cooked and present. Outstanding really. Also the staff, very friendly of which added to our pleasant time here.

Excellent friendly efficient service and all our meals were delicious. Varied menu from light meals/snacks to large meals. Very nice dessert menu. It was VERY busy all evening. I took photos after guests had left to respect privacy. Perfect for dinner or drinks before or after movies. Lovely outdoors area right on the Ahuriri foreshore overlooking the bay as well as sheltered conservatory. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant/bar.

The steak meal with mushroom sauce was by far the best I’ve ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mushroom sauce was tasty! We didn’t wait long either and the service was outstanding.

Great coffee and a lovely atmosphere on a sunny day. They have a separate outdoor seating area for people to sit with their dogs to enjoy a coffee or a meal. Very friendly staff.
Real great place just to have a quiet drink or have a formal meal.
