I love this cafe the menu food is good value for money and nothing fancy just good kiwi Kai! The scallop potatoes are our favourite add on! However i didn't quite enjoy a soggy sandwich from the cabinet ordered early in the morning it seemed like it was yesterday's old sandwich. Coffee is always good :)
Met family here for a coffee and a snack. Nice space and great outdoor area. We sat outside. Cabinet food looked really nice. I ordered a soy flat white and a savoury pie. Coffee was good but had better. Pie was tasty. Everyone else was happy with their drinks and food.
We cannot praise the food and service that we received enough. There was a great range including gluten free. The coffee and hot chocolate were hot and we were more than satisfied with our meal and the service we received. Going by the numbers of people entering the café on the occasions that we were there it is indeed a popular place and it will definitely be on our list of must visit on our next trip north.
We were just passing through Napier the café was easy to find - well sign posted on the main road. I had the fish of the day which was very fresh and beautifully presented I followed it up with a custard square that was to die for. My friend had pancakes - absolutely beautiful followed by an amazing ice cream sundae homemade caramel and toasted coconut. The service like the food was suburb the lady at the counter was lovely and couldn't do enough for us.I would absolutely recommend this café - not on the main road but worth searching out.
Read about Cafe Ahuriri on the Napier Life Magazine and was really excited to check this place out!
They were a huge selection of pastries and desserts! Of course, the breakfast and lunch menu was quite good as well. Love that it is reasonably priced! Yeah, but it is really not that easy to find this hidden gem. Got to find this place after asking several people for directions!

Went to Cafe Ahuriri on our first trip to Napier. We went after reading that the cafe's custard squares were mentioned in the New York Times. I honestly cannot say that the custard square was anything to rave about, but we also had lunch and that was really delicious. I had corn fritters, and they were the best I've tasted-full of corn, not flour and well seasoned. I would definitely recommend the cafe for a delicious meal. Also the woman who served us was very helpful and friendly. It was actually the best service we had in Napier, so thank you for making our meal an enjoyable experience.

- Old fashioned cafe, that impresses with traditional baking methods throughout the menu.
- Large outdoor seating with good mix of tables shaded and in the sun.
- Pickup a loaf of yummy bread on your way out.

Well, I went to Casa for dinner and I was welcomed by Sara the owner and front of the house, she recommended me couple dishes and a matching wine, the service was perfect and the food delicious, I will definitely be back,
Eat here regularly. Always great food, fast service. Always friendly and the atmosphere is really nice. Great on a sunny day, lots of outdoor seating.
Highly recommend the buffet breakfast on a Sunday.. all you can eat.
Great food. Lots of choice and very good prices. Coffee was fab too. Service is outstanding. All of that in a comfortable, friendly environment
Awesome food and great service. We will be back. Highly recommened. Probably the best selection of wines. See you soon for another great evening
Great, relaxed atmosphere. Love that we can take our dog and sit out enjoying the garden area. A regular spot for us.
Dropped by for lunch after a visit to bluff hill lookout. When we first entered it felt like a cafe for the seniors because all their patrons were!
Food is good and well priced. Salads and baked pastries from there display were yummy and big. Environment is nice and relaxed, I can see why it's a popular place for coffee or over a meal catching up with friends.
Great food. Amazing buffet. Left so full and sore 🤣
Very lovely location and atmosphere. Food was also very lovely and service was amazing! Will definitely be coming back!!
$17 Buffet Breakfast (small plate). Scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast sausages, hashbrown, scalloped potato, savoury tomato, lambs fry n bacon, creamy mushrooms, baked beans and slice baguette. Delicious 😁
Great food and selection, nestled away in a lovely location! Food is scrumptious and worth a visit!
We always enjoy coming here, the food is great and comes fast, and I like the location. It's quiet and tucked away but still feels like part of the town.
I would always recommend coming for brunch, the staff always have a smile on there faces. We will continue to come back.
Cafe Ahuriri had reasonably priced food and good coffee . We had two children with us and plenty of options for them too. Pastry was light and fillings tasty in the savoury I had . I really liked how they had bite sized sweet squares and regular sized ones, good for young children and those wanting something sweet with a coffee but not too much. I haven’t seen this option at a cafe before . Staff accommodating, coffee 4/5 and outdoor setting was pleasant. I would
definitely visit again.
What great place. Excellent secluded courtyard. Only had a sweet slice, so can't really comment on the food. Coffee and service were good though.
Sunday buffet is always my go to here! And service is always amazing. Definitely recommend
