The Frying Dutchman - Napier - Photo album

Friendly staff, clean premises, crumbed Gurnard was fresh, both the crumbs and fish were absolutely delicious. I'm a chip connoisseur (addict) and the chips were how every chip shop nationwide should cook their chips - DELECTABLE! My new go-to when in Napier, highly recommend.
We came here for blue cod and we were not disappointed. The blue cod and chips was worth the wait (5 years since our last visit to NZ) and the blue cod did not let us down it was delish.
Best Fish and chips I've had in a long time. Fish was fresh and chips plentiful. The Dutch snacks also made the experience a unique one and it was nice we could sit down and eat
This is an iconic Fish And Chip shop that was previously based by the Surf Club. It moved to its current location and was sold to current owners. More importantly, the new owners appear to have stuck tried and true recipes. The batter is lovely and not greasy, chips are tasty and nice clean store.
Possibly the best crumbed fish we have ever had! Juicy and generous fillets of fish in a crispy and tasty crumb. The fries were great too. Thank you!
Best F & C I've had in years! Now I can't eat F&C in my own hometown as I will be dissapointed.
Come for the food and ... you'll leave with good food. Great quality fish and chips with good selection of prime fillets and good portion sizes. Service was good. Atmosphere basic, but just outside you've got Napier Harbour which is pretty cool. I'll be back the next time fresh comfort food is re
The best fish and chips I have had in a long time, and very friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality. Give it a go, I will be back for more.
Nice place to be on a summer evening. Cool breeze off the harbour, warm sun shinning while my 2 tarakihi and chips are cooked. Very nice but could be better (batter was slightly overdone).
$15 Feed for 3 and still plenty leftover. A little oily but super delicious nonetheless. Drinks are abit overpriced so I recommend getting your drinks elsewhere.
Gurnard moist, well cooked and not over-battered. Chips nicely salted, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Over-all nicely cooked and probably the best fish and Chips I've had in a long time.
