Very nice. From early in the morning we found the fire blazing in this Clean and popular Cafe in Nasbey. The ownership has changed twice since it won the high accolades 🙌 of best cafe in NZ, however it certainly feels like it's in good hands in terms of the food. We had breakfast. Eggs bene and eggs on toast. Both with bacon 🥓 as an add on. It was really nice and the offer too was great. The cakes and.savory offerings on display looked wonderful. The only thing missing was a warm smile without invitation. There was no rudeness at all, and when I communicated with 3 staff during the visit they all responded well. There just lacked that open greeting from those naturally placed front of house I hospo. Well worth a visit though.

Called in after riding over Danseys Pass on a bitter cold morning. A warm cafe and a bright smile greeted me. The coffee was excellent and the savoury scone with lashings of butter , I can say no more. If you’re in Naseby call here, it will do your soul the world of good.

Don't even bother going anywhere else. This place has world class breakfasts, fantastic strong coffee and is open early. They could charge double for their smashed avo.... Still drooling at the thought of their yummy food.... WILL be back soon!

Accidently found this cafe for breakfast when travelling from Cromwell to Oamaru. Lots of choices, good food and reasonable pricing. However, you need to drive about 10 mins from the main road. Use Ranfurly-Naseby Rd to drive into the town as google map will also most likely to guide you to travel on rough mud track.

Excellent food excellent coffee excellent service. Busy and great comfortable atmosphere. A bit of a wait for food but it was worth it. Great selection of food from light snack to the best eggs Benedict! And delicious corn fritter on brioche with holandaise and bacon

Amazing, a hidden gem. After a long drive I didn't expect to find anything great, but the Black Forest Cafe was a great surprise. It looks pretty unassuming from the outside, a nice country town cafe, but it's the home to great coffee and delicious food. I had a 'corn fritter stack' - lots of great flavours that worked really wel together, I'd definitely recommend it. I had a well-made tasty latte to follow. The food was so good I picked up some cakes for the journey.

Nice, warm cafe in Naseby with friendly service. We just had toasted sandwiches and coffee all of which was fine. Baking looked good.

Very busy at certain times but staff were very apologetic and clearly working extremely hard. Food and coffee was great and plenty of options for those with dietary requirements.
