Service of the staff was above and beyond. Not only during our stay but once we had left, my partner had forgotten an article of clothing in the room. The staff arranged to have it couriered back to us free of charge! Awesome. The pork belly and chicken dishes were delicious and our cozy restaurant experience really topped off a romantic weekend getaway. I will definitely be going back.

Very nice old hotel, steeped in history. Hosts and locals made us feel very welcome. Rooms next door a little dated but clean and bed was very comfortable. Good shower. Dinner superb. Lambs fry and bacon for breakfast HIGHLY recommended!

Really good food and good service. Had hot chicken wings - and they were hot! Place was hopping with 3 bowling teams coming along for drinks after their game. Lots of fun, nice people, nice place.

Excellent food and drink options. Very cozy pub in Naseby, has lots of old photos and memorabilia of old Naseby. Food is delicious - can recommend the lamb shoulder, ribs, wagyu steak special if they have it, and sticky date pudding. Friendly local staff also, who know a lot about the region. Definitely a must do when you are in Naseby. You won’t regret it!

Charming and authentic. Lots of comfortable characterful areas. Good beer and cider selection. Exceptional whisky range. Sky sports didn't dominate, but was there. A real gem.

Consistently good. We always come for drinks and dinner when we stay in Naesby. They have the 4 top Emerson's beer on tap and the restaurant is fine dining. Especially the the Marenio Lamb Leg for 2. Sourced locally, it's a must try. We are here for the 5th time sipping beer and booked for 6.30pm dinner. Nice!

If you like a decent single malt they have it all. Our rooms were OK. I got my thumb nail stuck in the lock on the room side of the door! An annoying but amusing incident. No TV in rooms

The coolade offered at the door worked very well. After very short time I percieved that the pool table became round and the balls would follow the round cushions. The patrons all turned into the cutest toddler's I had ever seen. My wife soon returned with a jug of black beer. I had trouble pouring it into my glass for fear of harming the Roman legion's that were marching across the surface. By this time my wife had turned into a serving so I got her out of there before she ran off with a Ken doll.

A great wee historic pub that stands proud as part of Otago's colonial period. Great food, great staff and a real sense of 19th century history!

Nice place, food was surprising good, the rooms could have been better for the price, but to be fair it was peak season. Would recommend to others
