Pretty good for restaurant in a smaller town. Service is quick despite only having 2 staff working. The food could use a bit less oil but it doesn't detract from the taste too much. The crème brulé was surprisingly decent. Not a bad place to dine if you're in the neighborhood.
Awesome, Train station cafe at the National Park Train station, cozy ambience with hearty food, great coffee and very tasty big breakfast. Well worth a stop if you’re passing by. Reasonable prices and Gluten-free options aswell.
A pretty good effort that is more or less in the middle of nowhere. Good Atomic coffee and concise menu covering usual cafe suspects. 15 minutes from Chateau and a useful alternative to their 4 eateries for the budget conscious or just want a change. Open for dinner too and reservations recommended for dinner. Lemonade Scones are really light and fluffy and to die for. Non Kiwi's, Google the recipe for a Kiwi favorite you can make at home!
When I was waiting for the bus to Auckland, I spent the time in this cozy place.
It's a good idea for people come to National Park to have a meal or grab a coffee here.
Great little find. We were expecting to find nothing open at all in National Park as we were just coming out of Alert Level 3, in to Level 2, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem down at the National Park train station. We only stopped in for a cuppa, fries, wedges and nachos and we weren't disappointed. Great service, great atmosphere, nice and warm, along with yummy food. Keep up the good work and great to meet such friendly staff with a positive vibe. Looking forward to our next visit there. Keep up the good work team.
Wry picturesque location. Plentiful parking, coffee a bit weak for my taste. Food very good though
Wonderful restaurant, doubles as a train station on the Northern Explorer scenic train service between Auckland and Wellington. Good food selection, lovely ambience, very helpful staff.
Quite a scenic restaurant with very good food. Great breakfast menu (hot breakfast, a lot of cakes). I also liked the dinner menu, which has decent quality and prices.
It was busy so there was a slight wait but the coffee was fantastic and the food was good, nice unique set up with historical art and photos was a nice touch. Nice selection of baked goods and meals
Wonderful food. Surprisingly sophisticated for such a small town. Had a casual lunch here of sandwiches & wraps & soup. Creamy tomato soup was so flavorful. At dinner salmon was cooked perfectly and the chicken was very lightly panko coated and juicy & tender
Popped in for a lovely bottle of Chardonnay, would have had five stars if they had a rose. Where else can you chill out on a railway platform and talk the night away
Better than 90% of the food in the area and definitely worth a visit for breakfast. Delicious food, fast service, good prices. Strong coffee a definite plus.
Nice ambience and food ok. Server keeps asking if we wanted to order more which we feel is a little pushy.
