My favourite fish and chip shop that I’ve visited here in NZ. Super friendly and amazing service and so much choice. Was so pleased that I’d finally found a chippy that served mushy peas!!! The food was delicious and great value for money and I can’t wait to go back for more. Thanks so much! 😊
Best calamari in NZ! I travel NZ for work and try many different restaurants, by far the best fish n chips I've had anywhere! Owners were friendly and overall amazing service, will be going back next time I'm here!! 10/10!
The Sands Fish and Chip shop is in the heart of Tahunanui, surrounded by glorious views and the breeze from the beach. With friendly staff and delicious food, this place is ideal to bring your date or your family. I highly recommend their bacon and egg burger!

Amazing service, felt like I've been going here for my whole life. There was absolutely no slimy fish here, it was perfectly battered and the chips go hard.

Don't bother going anywhere else! Best fish n chips we have had to date. Salt & pepper calamari was delicious, fish was fresh, moist and cooked to perfection. Chicken curry roll was fab and the chips are nice and crispy but not hollow and oily like most we've had elsewhere. Thanks for the great mea

Had some seriously good fish & chips on Friday night, bought the large family meal which fed our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens). This was our first visit - we will definitely be back.
Small but beautiful fish and chips shop owned by a lovely and very nice guy. You can also get almost everything gluten-free, and it’s suitable for celiacs. It tasted great!
Delicious and well battered fish (gurnard, snapper and whiting) and chips, bluff oyster, salt & pepper calamari. We like gurnard the best. Visited twice during our 2D1N stay in Nelson.
