Noticed this cafe as we were walking along the river. We decided to try their coffee & muffins. Coffee was delivered quickly considering how busy they were. Nicely presented cup with pleasant flavour. Muffins were wholesome, huge & delicious. Service was great & they handled the crowd well
Popped in for brunch the first day of our holiday, great service very quick and friendly. Meals were generous in portion and packed full of flavour. I had the Eggs Benedict and hubby had the chicken waffles with hot sauce - which he declared the best breakfast he has ever had. Highly recommend.
What a wonderful cafe, delicious food, lovely service, toddler friendly, lovely location
Friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant environment. My bacon and eggs were OK, just not amazing. I asked for the wholemeal bread with them and it was lovely bread but not well toasted and a bit doughy. Everyone else enjoyed their meals and the cabinet food looked amazing
River Kitchen is temporarily within building renovation paper so it looks a little different/disguised. Located adjacent to a handy public car park but looks out onto the river. Excellent service - friendly & obliging staff. The food is excellent. We had breakfast there. I would recommend the smoked fish potato cakes with poached eggs. The fish cakes were crispy on the outside & the soft inside had plenty of tasty smoked fish.
We booked to return later that day for lunch to meet up with friends who were flying over from Wellington so I got to try some of the treats from the cabinet. The capable staff coped professionally with a crowd of 10 people. River Kitchen lived up to its highly recommended reputation.
I love this place, always busy with friendly staff. Excellent food and value for money. My daughter couldn’t eat the full eggs Benedict and doing a half was not a problem. Chicken / bacon waffles are the best in the area. To top it off 1 in 8 coffees are free YUS!!
Dropped in for a coffee with a mate, as always River Kitchen, dispite the lunch time bustle, provided a relaxed atmosphere where converstation is always easy.
All that, and one of the best cafe veiws in Nelson.
best coffee ever! best brunch experience!
Found a lovely place for breakfast this Mōrena. Place is humming, lot's obviously love the kai and kāwhe here too.
I must say I really enjoyed my Hēki Bennie. Service was excellent. Definitely a very ka pai place to go for kai and kāwhe.
Food was great. We had the seafood chowder & open chicken sandwich. Both very tasty and well seasoned by New Zealand standards! (I find there's a tendency to under-salt here!)
Service friendly and helpful, you can pay as soon as you're done ordering if you're in a rush to get out.
Cute, mainly outdoor cafe on the side of the river at the edge of town.scenuc spot, dog friendly but watch out for the seagulls! The staff do have a super soaker to fend them off if required ;)
