Best fish and chips in Nelson, hands down. The chips are always fresh and the oil is clean. The fish of the day is usually fresh gurnard, and is cooked perfectly. There is a wide range of in store made burgers each with a little local twist. I loved the Haulashore Hawaiian and the Stoke Steak. Big burgers with quality ingredients. Quick friendly service also.
A quick update. I ordered a fish Burger, 1/2 scoop of chips and a piece of fish for $19. All was cooked and served perfectly. You cannot get that value and quality from maccas.
When you just want some not so oily Fish 'n Chips this is a great choice.
Fish was perfectly cooked with a nice crunchy batter, half scoop of chips generous, battered meat patty was Huge and very tasty!

Consistently good, The only issue I had was with oysters no flavor and very small but they were otherwise beautifully cooked with crisp batter as is everything else!!

Delicious food at a good price and sometimes even get more potato flips than we payed for.
Good little local option, really nice to have a piece of fish that is only ~20% batter instead of the usual 65% (Looking at you, Auckland fish and chip shops). Make sure to order in advance because this is a popular spot and you be waiting for a while otherwise.
First time here tonight and first in on opening as I had heard they get busy.
Fish was tasty with crispy batter and chips cooked just 'perfectly', not over done, just right. No grease!.. Bought to feed 5. More than happy with what we received. 5 star.

I ordered Gurnard and chips. Chips were square cut about 8mm thick, lightly salted and long. They did not sweat on the 7 minute drive home. The Gurnard was obviously very fresh and was not oily. Restaurant quality from a shop that obviously prides itself on delivering Nelson's best fishand chips. .
