We visit so often because Maru is the best Sushi in Nelson. Always fresh, fast and friendly. Price is great for a good feed we spend around $50 per visit for 2 sushi rolls, inari, gimari and ramen. Photos from the last 3 visits because presentation is always on point here.

Really good food. A bit strange to see Korean and Japanese food in the same place, but loved their spicy tofu stew. Really good chefs, excellent at whatever you'd like to order :) Menu is pretty big, so I'd recommend looking at it before going in so you can figure out what you want, especially if you're not familiar with Korean or Japanese food :)

Ordered ramen and gimmari :) Didn't expect it to be so filling but very nice overall. Hope they can bring back the rabokki!

Will definitely come back! So many dishes on the menu I'd like to try. Pan-fried noodles was great. I wish the serving was much bigger.

The food tasted very authentic, very hard to communicate with staff as there was a language barrier but they were very lovely.

The kimchi and rice is excellent! It comes sizzling in a hot stone pot and the flavors are perfect. Really hit the spot! First good sign was there were actually korean ppl dining and speaking korean and the server was really nice. So happy to finally find an authentic korean restaurant in the south island!

I had been wanting to try the Okonomiyaki for awhile and finally got to have it the other day and I was not disappointed, it was very delicious and I can't wait to come back again!

This place is AWESOME. large tables, quiet laid back atmosphere, excellent food! We had Unagi Don, Kimchi Jeon, a Sushi roll, and Miso Soup. Everything was prepared perfectly. Bold simple flavors, nothing too pretentious or trying to crowd itself out. I will definitely be back. This place is worth it just for its excellent Kimchi.

Great little Japanese and Korean restaurant. Have come here a few times for lunch, great quality food for a good price. You might not see much on display if you are after sushi but just ask and they'll make it fresh for you.

Coming from a Korean, this venue was one of the more authentic Korean restaurants I've visited in NZ. The kimchi was spot on, and the bulgogi I had was delicious and balanced--not too sweet and not too chewy. However, I cannot comment on their Japanese menu. And granted I've not tried their other Korean dishes, but if they're coming from the same chef, I'd be happy knowing they're authentic as well.
