Like all couples, my wife and I have a "Favourite" eating establishment. A place you can visit where you are sure of excellent food, service and value. Well, The Indian Cafe is that place for us. Specifically the Stoke restaurant. We have tried most items on the menu over the last couple of years, and we have some favourites: Butter Chicken - don't we all? Tandoori Platter - an entrée with attitude Fish Tikka - huge chucks of fish with curry Chicken Mushroom Masala - chicken and fungus, meant to be together! Everything which comes out of this kitchen is cooked with love, and the staff are always thinking about the customer. Don't forget your side of cheese and garlic Naan, dripping with cheese and steaming with flavor. I know this sounds like a sales pitch but I'm simply being honest. Go along and try for yourself. You won't regret it.

Have been meaning to visit for some time and was not disappointed. Visited at lunch time. Great dining room. Excellent attentive staff. Wide ranging menu. The beef Saag was amazing and the Indian hot vindaloo was excellent and hot hot. Highly recommend for a visit.

Always the best Indian food. Authentic taste, not too sweet compared to others. Kids love it too. Onion Bhaji always a hit with the kids

Hard to fault. Way better than usual food. Tasty and not over-salted. Small and cosy. Young waitress took our cheek with great humour too. We'll be back. Highly recommended.

Got the vegetarian buffet for two and it was great! Good spread of starters and was nice to have a selection of curries to try. Good price too! Enough leftovers for lunch the next day

Had a curry attack so tried here 1st time. Wow! Very helpful guy who showed me the rather extensive menu. Couldnt choose so asked what he recommended. Spicy or not went hot spicy. With naan and rice. Couldn't have been more quenched in my need for good authentic Indian cuisine. Lovely decor. Excellent folk. Music to lift the spirit. Relaxing atmosphere. And that was a late lunch. Going back very soon for the dine-in experience. The food alone is outstanding. Thank you Indian Cafe.

Fantastic meal on a hot summer evening in Stroke, sat outside in a gorgeous breeze. All of the food was great, but their Chicken Tikka is the best best ever! Thank you

One of the best Indian meals I have had in a very long time. We had the banquet for two, which was enormous. The food was authentic and 'hot' was not just 'added chilies. The host was delightful and friendly. A very pleasant covered outdoor eating area. We will definitely eat there again when next in Nelson/Stoke.

Tried and tested - have compared meals from this restaurant with another local Indian takeaway, and can say that this one has the best. Veg korma and dal makhani are great, always with a garlic naan 👌

I've been to both the Nelson and Richmond Indian Cafe's, and they are great don't get me wrong. However the stoke store is awesome, always generous with their delicious butter chicken, friendly staff and around the best one in town! Thank you

Great service, delicious food. Friendly staff.vgood prices as well. I enjoy how runny the curry is compared to some other restaurants because you can just cover your rice in it. Good stuff.

We were booked at the Richmond store but ended up at the Stoke outlet. The manager was very welcoming and seated us in the heated outdoor area. It was just our group so was very private and allowed for convivial conversation. The food was outstanding. The paneer tikkas and sizzling mushrooms came on a sizzling platter. Both were very tasty and the bhajias crispy and generous. Our mains of dhal fry, palak paneer and chef's masala vegetables were bursting with flavour. The spice base was different for each dish so they looked and tasted like what they were meant to as opposed to something coming out of an assembly line!

We ordered Rogan Josh to go, and it was hands down the most amazing Rogan Josh I've ever eaten. The lamb was perfectly cooked, and the sauce had an amazing distinctive flavour. They were happy to use our containers and dished out huge portions. I'm definitely going back.
