We reserved a table and thought we'd be sitting inside. But it so busy on a Friday night we ended up sitting on bar chairs in the very busy shared catering area. The music was blaring but we could still chat. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and service was good. We didn't wait long for our order. The crisply fried shrimps and crab were delicious. My favourite was the broccoli and kumara balls. We eventually got a table inside and we ordered dumplings. They were rather salty for our taste but the rest of our food was yum. We both loved the atmosphere of the place especially once we were inside.

Delicious Japanese small plates in the city centre. Nicely busy on a Monday. Very fast, efficient friendly service. A great spot, especially as we were staying next door.

Awesome place with a good vibe for some food and drinks. Wasn’t too keen on the cocktail as it just tasted like mango juice.

Late night drinks after dinner. Good service, good beer but no decaffeinated coffee for espresso martinis. Nice place to finish the evening

This place has tasty food, creative cocktails and beverages, smiling staff, an excellent atmosphere, elegant decor and a warm friendly feeling. We were happy with the prices for our experience and we enjoyed our visit. A quiet setting for conversation.

Food came out so quickly, cocktail (eye candy) was absolutely amazing, good portions of food for the price. Highly recommend!

Pretty cool spot. High ceilings with ambient light. Fire place. Great food and quick service. Cocktails are just ok but other drinks and food were great.

Went on a Monday evening, very quiet and relaxing, just what I needed. Served great tasting Japanese food, all are small side dishes. Inside décor was nice, old with a slight modern twist, a very comfortable environment.

Ambience is good. Nice to see the place busy on a Tuesday. the food was a little disappointing. Biggest complaint was under seasoned food. All 4 dishes lacked salt. Service was ok. Not great. Staff were intelligent, friendly, but not super responsive. This might have been due to my tables location but that’s not an excuse. One dish didn’t turn up until asked. No condiment after a request. I suspect an issue in the kitchen or comms breakdown with wait staff. I guess what really sums it up. Good idea but execution not quite up to par. I’m still giving 4 stars as it’s new Plymouth and not london or New York.

Nice food choices and indoor vaulted atrium with good heating. Seating ok but not that comfy. Great for a few drinks and small and tasty combo food options.

Snug lounge is true to it's name. Deservingly snug, especially the red room with velvet seating and toasty fire going. Great view of the gallery through the windows. Thoroughly enjoyed our mulled wine on a cold night.

Had a lovely dinner with my husband and our friends here last week. The ambiance was definitely with a cool vibe (5/5). Staff are welcoming. The food comes in relatively small serving so we ordered most on the menu but they are all good. We love the salt and pepper squid, a great pairing with their happy hour beer.😋A must try place specially if you fancy good food after work 🤍💙

Great cocktails and yummy tapas style share plates, in a cosy, funky lounge. Service with a smile, great to visit with a friend or two. Would like more gluten free options.
