Fairly ordinary place to look at but boy! The food was first rate. Lovely chips, fresh, crispy and hot. The fish was also crispy and delicious. I ordered a fishcake and 2 oysters and would definately do so again. It was a great feed for 2 of us and we would recommend this place to anyone passing through or any locals who haven't yet had the pleasure.
Great combos and impressive amounts of both fish & chips for the price you pay. Hard to beat this place if you want fried takeaway.
I'm not usually impressed by fish n chips, usually pretty standard, but look at the size of the fish! The hotdogs were pretty big too. Tasted great, got tomato sauce there and ate it in the park. It was bloody cold but the food kept us warm so all good. FYI better value to buy combos than individual items.
First time in New Zealand so of course I had to get fish and chips and according to my Kiwi boyfriend this place is the place to go and he is not wrong.
I couldn't take a cute photo because I was hungry but I needed to leave a 5 star review because it is truly 5 stars.
Look at the size of the fish and the chips and the hot dogs and crab sticks.
We ordered the $25 combo but I thought it wouldn't be enough food so I added a cheese toasty and another fish and I learned never to underestimate the proportions here.

Fresh fish in a crispy batter. Chips are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummmmmmm! Carparks out front are a premium. Best to park out the back in the big carpark accessed from Taui St. Folks are always friendly and hardworking. Place always looks clean. Can get very busy at times. It’s easy to ring or order online. Not a lot of room to eat on the premises, it’s a takeaways, but there is a huge park table to the side of the shop. Or a playground across the road.
Been there many times not just lately but for me can't complain awesome kai ngaumai haere tatou.
Best takeaways saw the reviews went and did an online order. Kūmara chips, chips, burgers clean and fresh. Delicious. Staff lovely. Don’t overlook this gem.
