Authentic Malaysian food at a reasonable price. Both dishes were $14 with perfect portion sizes. The food was hot, fresh, and super flavourful. We also ordered a cold milo ($4.50) and pulled milk tea ($4.0), both of which were super delicious. The restaurant was clean and warm, and the service fast and friendly. Absolutely no complaints!
The mark of a great Malaysian place is its Kopi and they nailed it!
My favourite Malaysian restaurant! Weekly order of nasi lemak which is yum yum. The beef rendang is yummy as well. Good quantity for the reasonable price paid
eing a traveller and food vlogger...N a very harsh critic of msian food simply cuz I am msian born n just came back from 3 months in Malaysia.. I am pretty impressed with Songket. It is my first time but I will come back to try more. I had the nasi lemak.. I would give it 3.5 to 4 stars. .It was simple and nice.. N they gave extra sambal. The rice could be more flavourful...nevertheless for Nzd 9. Quite good..

Came here few times already since they first opened about 1+ year ago. Self service cutleries and water. Food reasonable in price and portion. Their banana nestum prawns are such super value and taste great. Recommend their char kway teow, satay ans wan tan hor.
Fried rice & service was amazing! Definetly not the best spring rolls and wontons I’ve had though which was a shame. But would definetly recommend coming here if you’re wanting a good fried rice!
I heard about this new Malaysian place in Northcote from a family friend and decided to check it out. We had to wait for a table at lunch time on Sunday, but it was well worth the wait.
The chicken satay was not chargrilled but comes with rice cubes and cucumber and red onion – so it does make an effort to be somewhat authentic.
For my main, I ordered the Wat Tan Hor – which was okay but not amazing. It’s a nice alternative to all the fried dishes that we tend to get at Malaysian restaurants.
The chicken laksa was surprisingly not that spicy. However, the Songket fried noodle had a bit of spice to it.
Overall, I’d be happy to come back here; the food was good, service was average but I remember the prices being pretty reasonable.
Good food and generous portions. The drinks are top notch. Would prefer if wiring was not visible but such is life. Would and will come again.
Such a great place for authentic food.
The set up is simple and basic. Great for a group of 6 max.
The menu have a lot of variety n the price is very reasonable.
They taste and look good too.
The staff are very friendly and attentive . I really enjoy the food n overall service.
Definately a must go.
Have had the char kueh teow n nasi goreng kampung! Both on spot. Will definitely visit again! Also value for money. The selection of Malaysian desserts also more varied than other places.
Really great food! Will be back. Had the mee goreng mamak this time and it was amazing. The roti cannai was also excellent. Fried Kuey Teow is another winner. Work down the road so very happy to have such good food close by.
Went for lunch at this new place.light and bright. With nice people and great food.Everything we had was really tasty and and fresh.Well be back soon
Very good food and great people. We've only been here 3 times so far, but we will definitely be coming back to try even more of what they've got to offer. We are slowly working our way through the menu. 😊
Best Malaysian restaurant in Auckland. Truly authentic. The chefs are two local Malaysians with 20 years of cooking experience.
Great portion, price with excellent service. We really enjoyed it! Been there twice a week. I think it is a must try if you want authentic Malaysian.
The most authentic fried rice in Auckland. I would rate this place a 5 just for the fried rice. But to be honest, the other items on the menu that we tried were average (3 - 4 rating).
I quite enjoy my time there to read while having the Malaysian tea with milk and some home made cookies too!
I also had one of their main vegetarian dishes and it was delicious !
Highly recommended.
It's a very Malaysian restaurant, runs by three young people. They must be very fond of their home dishes. Love the chicken on rice. But I have waited for more than 30 minutes for my dish to turn up. Reasonable price.
Have always ordered on line but today I came in for the first time to see how the place and people were and found the cook Ivan was the best authentic Malaysia cook and the place is very well managed. Keep up the good work 👏. Highly recommend

Ordered the chicken laksa, pattaya fried rice (fried rice with chicken and prawn wrapped in the egg omelette) from the menu log. Meal were well contained and wrapped. Chicken laksa is so creamy and pattaya is so delicious! They have good flavour, texture and reasonable price.
❤️❤️❤️ their signature Lamb Shank Fried rice. The sauce is like sambal but not too spicy. And lamb shank is cooked perfectly, so the meat just comes off when you bite into it. Imagine it and yes, it tastes as awesome as it sounds. Grab one of these today!
The food is really good. This is the best Malaysian food on the North Shore (possibly Auckland).
Minor criticism on the Sambal chicken not being crisp, but the flavour is there.
Delicious Malaysian food at great prices. Good portion as well. The Wan Tan Hor was very good.
Wanted to try the Chendol but told wasn't available. Next time!
Very good Kampung Fried Rice ( Nasi Goreng Kampung) and very good professional presentation ! Very large portion too ! I nearly can't finish it, coz too full. Good Teh Tarik! Have plenty of car parks. Good location, u can go shopping after a very full meal .

It was my first visit and the food was delicious and service was excellent.
Here we go agin to this outlet but ordered to take away, small but clean, friendly staff, the overall experience was ok, but the dishes differs from the original Malaysian food, the Chicken Satay and Kwayteow, Nasi Goreng, Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng were all good, however the Bee Hoon, kampong fried rice, Sambal Chicken were not so Malaysian, We see that it has not changed much, I wouldn’t say it was bad but there are other restaurants with a more authentic taste!
Best Malaysian in Auckland hands down. Their chicken and prawn mee goreng is addictive and I would highly recommend also trying their pulled milk tea (tea tarik)
Great little place, food was tasty with authentic flavours, good price and portions. Will definitely be back
Delicious Malaysian restaurant. Resonable price. Enjoyed.
