Food was fantastic! I like how you can customise your meals up to your own preferences like less oil and sweet. Portion was just enough for one person. Overall, it was good with reasonable price.
This restaurant has become a favourite takeaway among my friends and I'm always excited to order it. The vegan chicken is arguably better than real chicken! All meal items can come with your choice of meat, tofu, or my favourite vegan chicken. Highly recommended!
Great , delicious food always had a good experience here. Staff look very and friendly and atmosphere is so pleasant! BYO wine allowed and meals are reasonable and worth it !

The Best Thai in town! Very friendly staff and consistently amazing food everytime. Love the panang and unbeatable price. Even better now that they’re on Uber eats!
Decided I wanted Thai for lunch, so took a walk here to pick up some takewaways. Enjoyed the price and taste - on the cheaper side, and the amount received was great. I ordered the Panang Curry - and while it wasn't the best Panang Curry I have had, but it was definitely cheaper! It was still tasty and enjoyable. Great bang for buck and I would order it again.
A true hidden gem. Tucked away in the Northcote village centre food court is Khun Pui Thai. Not sure if the average star rating is because of the setting, who cares, the food is great! Couldn't believe how cheap it was! Thanks guys,
A regular go-to!
I have been going to this foodcourt for well over 7 years. My partner always orders the same thing from Khun Pui. 22.9 chicken lava, and have never been disappointed. The staff are lovely and the food is amazing . Pricing is very decent and good sized portions too.

Food ordered:
Tom Kha Seafood
Fresh Ginger Pork
Garlic & Pepper Chunk Squid
Mix Entree
Bill: $34.50
Big tummy: Another one for the "How did it take us so long to find this place??" files. It's a bit of a mission finding decent seafood chowder/soup on the North Shore (seriously... if you know of a place, drop me a recommendation in the comments below), but the Tom Kha seafood soup at Khun Pui would be one of the better finds I've made. The flavour was zesty and packed a punch without being too spicy. The amount of seafood was reasonable for the price too, with the dish including 1x prawn, 2x mussels and 3-4x pieces of calamari.
As for the entrees, the garlic & pepper squid was seasoned and cooked well enough (served with sweet & sour sauce to boot) - buuut I did feel that they were a bit on the small side. They really are chunks of squid (which is stated on the menu, so you can't really fault them for it I guess). Since this was our first time to KPTF, we decided to give the mix entree a crack, so we could try out a few different items. The spring roll, curry puff and chicken toast were a bit "meh"- I found myself dipping the chicken toast and spring roll in my soup to add a bit more flavour. But the chicken satay and accompanying sauce was just sublime - I wish we had ordered more.
All in all, I'd definitely come back to KPTF just for the Tom Kha and chicken satays.
Little tummy: I'd been craving Thai or Malaysian cuisine and my bf has been on a bit of a health kick, so we found ourselves looking for a new Thai/Malay establishment which lead us to Khun Pai. I chose the ginger pork on rice ("soooo Asian" - Big tummy) for myself and we shared the entrees. The highlight for me was easily the pork - it had a nice flavour to it and was, for the most part, cooked well (there was one piece that was overcooked to the point of it being impossible to chew through, as if it'd been stuck to the bottom of the pan). The pepper squid, chicken satay & toast and curry puff also got the thumbs up from me, along with the seafood soup (I managed to sneak a few spoonfuls while my bf was busy with the entrees). The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the spring roll - but I have kinda high standards for spring rolls, since I make my own homemade ones. I'd be happy to come back and try their other dishes though.
This one is an authentic Thai cuisine! I am always impressed of all the Thai food that I've tried. You can never be wrong when it comes to their food! Good service and affordable price!
This place is always open in the food court even when half of them are closed. Food was good, quality better than most at the other joints. I ordered calamari fries and sizzling childlike lava. Overall good, fast service and nice staff.
I've been to Khun Pai Thai Food quite a few times, and always been pleased with quality of the food served. It's hot, fresh, and tasty.
I've had the Sizzling Beef and Sizzling Chicken a few times, and the portion sizes were generous. Tried something different tonight; Pad Sarm Sa Hai. Chicken and diced vegetables served in a peanut satay-like sauce. Hot, tasty, and has a little bit of spice to it; glad I gave it a go.
I'd recommend Khun Pai to friends, family, and followers.
Amazing place we have been coming here for a couple of years! Great flavours and always quick and consistent, highly recommend to anyone looking for good Thai!

Everything Iv had has been good except the squid entree which I found bland. But I got the chicken green curry, sizzling beef, spring rolls chicken puffs and satay chicken. The spice level was nice. Everything was full of flavour and they deliver!!
Great value for money, consistent and they cook it really fast. Perfect for a quick takeaway meal on the way home from work. If you are desperate you can also eat in at the food court.
I would give this more than 5 stars if I could!
Apart from the amazing food, great value for money & prompt service, the staff here are so friendly and helpful. Especially with frustrating customers like myself :)
Easily the best and most authentic Thai food available on the shore, maybe even the whole of Auckland.
There's a few 'Westernised' dishes on their menu, but if you go for the classics you'll be amazed.
Also, they never rip you off on price, around $10 for all mains is incredible, especially for the quality. I've eaten in a few Thai restaurants in Auckland and to be honest, they generally are never as good.
Come here often with the family and have brought quite a few friends here. It is the favourite place inside foodcity for all of us. The staff are always friendly, fast service( dishes come out within 10 minutes) and food is reasonably priced! Love the curry puffs and green curry. Would definitely recommend for a takeaway when in a rush, or for when you'd like to go to the food court.
Just the best, I've nearly had everything on the menu and man oh man taste is out of this world, yum yum for the tum tum......
OMG - this is my favourite Thai takeout, absolute YUMMY Satay Chicken stir fry, comes with rice too and at a great price. Highly recommended here as they are always busy food is always fresh and home made - if ordering on a Fri or Sat night phone in as sometimes there is a bit of a wait on those busy nights as they are so popular!!
Really good curries! I discovered this place a month after I moved to Northcote- wish I had found this foodcourt earlier! Tasty authentic food at unbelievably affordable prices. The Japanese corner Saika next door is another absolute favourite as well. Beautiful food and friendly service, both shops have become my go-to places for fast, cheap and delicious take-aways!
One of my fav eatries. Fantastic prices, friendly customer service and some of the best street Thai food available. Free parking available nearby. New additions to the menu & vibrant, bright signage has made a big difference incl. the number of customers this eatery now gets as its neighborly competitors close. Good value for money this pl. esp for a crowd feed.
Often get takeaways from here after the pictures at the Bridgeway in Northcote Point.Very reasonable prices, quality is excellent & the quantity is more than enough!
I had a Special curry hot, coming with rice.
Red curry paste,Coconut milk based vegetable, sliced chicken and 2 prawns.
Really good food! The Nam Tok is awesome! And the lady working there is always nice and smiley!
Food City might be a shell of it's former self but if you want a tasty weeknight green curry at the right price, it'd be hard to find better than theirs. Heaps of veges and meat and the heat was just right. They were really efficient making our order too.
Lovely lady making authentic Thai. We definitely come back again.
Also love those deep fried shredded chicken with garlic that sell on the counter (she said her friend is making)
TASTE AMAZING! Awesome customer service. Has been my daily go to for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend to try their food. Don't be afraid to ask for the chefs recommendation!
Nice food with good portions. Taste is fine too. Its jus the sauce was too sweet for me
This is our favorite Thai place. They make authentic Thai food and very fast. It deserve 6 stars. They have good prices.
Had a take away from them. Asked them for extra favour and they tried to fulfil it, food was really tasty definitely gonna order/come again. :))
Had the Tom Kha, Satay Chicken and Chicken cashew nut stirfry. The place was pretty busy, but that didn't stop the chefs from speedily producing, very filling, delicious meals. I was extremely impressed by the service.
One of the best Thai takeaways on the Shore I’ve found. Well priced, reasonable serving sizes and quick service. This is our default for a Friday meal after a busy week.
Edit: a little disappointed in recent price increase percentage wise and what seems to be slightly smaller servings. Sign of the times I suppose. 11/22
I'm leaving NZ tomorrow and I travelled 1 hour to them to eat their sizzling chicken cause it's just that good!
The chef was super kind and he actually looked really similar??? I think I saw him on TV playing tennis this one time -- no wonder he has such a good body.
If you're in the mood for some Thai and you live in NZ, I'd highly recommend this place. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
My new favourite Thai take away. It is not the closest to my house but i ll drive there for their curry. I had a chicken panang. It was really well done. Just the right amount of spices, a good variety of vegetables. Thank you guys. I have been craving for a good thai curry and im glad i picked you.
Best Thai food I've had in a long time! Reasonable prices and excellent food.
One of the original shops since the food hall first opened. Extensive menu selection (although they dont do any noodle dishes due to an agreement with another Thai stall in the food hall), good value, good serving size, always tasty!
A regular for us over 20+yrs Recently changed ownership, but same chefs and still good!
Really loved the Tom Kha Chicken - Tom yum rich flavour with coconut milk - I had such an enjoyable meal. Authentic Thai food guaranteed! Wasn't too spicy as well, just the perfect amount :) would definitely come back again to try out their other dishes.
Well we just found the best Thai restaurant on the north shore!
We waited about 25 minutes because the food was made fresh - I’m always in favour of this, I’d rather wait a little longer for something excellent than wait a short period of time for bad quality food. My oh my is this good quality food!
It’s full of flavour, genuinely enjoyable to eat and it’s filling, which is everything I could hope for.
Try it, you won’t regret it. We’ll be back!
Update: have since been back far too many times to count and it’s still holding up to expectations. 😍
Great staff, makes vegan and non-vegan food, and can do delivery if you call up. Best to takeaway or get delivered as the mall doesn't have great seating options and can get a bit noisy. Not the cheapest Thai food but very delicious.
We get vegan food from here quite often and the food is consistently delicious, reasonably priced (we usually get two meals from a main and rice), and the staff here are always welcoming and positive. One of my favourite spots for takeaways :)
