Beautiful food in a gorgeous setting, with impeccable service. We did a day trip from Christchurch hoping for something special, and it was exactly that. Lovely wander around the garden and gift shop after lunch. Thank you for the fabulous destination - it was worth it (yes, even with ridiculous fuel costs these days)!
Unfortunately they google review have 5 stars. I would give 10 π π€© stars to this place. I love their breakfast , so unique and so professional. Came at 2:59pm (kitchen closes at 3pm), we were greatly surprised when our waitress insisted the kitchen remain open for our last order of lunch before closing for dinner. What a nice gesture!
The food which was served tastes fresh and delicious. A lot of the ingredients are produced locally on the premises with a lot of care also going into each dish.
We ordered the foccacia for 2, roasted vegetables, soup of the day and chips. The soup and roasted veggies were absolutely amazing. The crunchy bread and the soup paired perfectly. None of the veggies were over done on the roasted vegetable dish (could tell it was all just thrown into the over together at the same time.) Great portion sizes as well as flavour.
The bread was slightly disappointing compared to the other dishes but the humus and dukkah dip was more than tasted and went well with the bread.
Would definitely recommend for a lunch/dinner stop on the way down the coast of NZ!
We ordered the sour plum and the sour chocolate cake take away- we were a bit surprised they gave us cream when it was advertised to have ice cream (understand you can take away ice cream...) however it was a little disappointing to not see either a larger slice or slightly cheaper pricing to account for this. That being said, could not fault the flavour of the cake at all
Lives up to reputation. The food was very, very good, the service was awesome. The squid dish was amazing, the pumpkin and parmesan soup was the best ever. The empty plate in the photo was apple fritters. They were too delicious to photograph first. We spent time in the vege garden and admired the quantity and quality of the produce, especially the silver beet.
Lovely garden, delicious food, and in a beautiful setting. Staff were friendly and food came out rather timely. Definitely worth dropping by if around the area! Havoc Pork was sublime!
We had a brilliant lunch here. Every course of everyoneβs meal was great! And because we were able to eat outside under cover it felt really COVIDSAFE. We bought some yummy artisan bread to take away.
Great warm indoor dining with plenty of outdoor sitting options too. Had best lamb in last few years! Amazing in house baked bread and desert too.
Our tour stopped here for lunch (so can't speak to price or variety on the menu). We were running late for our arrival time but the staff were all friendly and hustled to get us our food in a short turnaround. This is without a doubt the nicest tour meal we have ever had and wished we had more time to enjoy it, as well as the pretty gardens located on the grounds. Our salmon and chicken dishes were marvelous 4-star quality with generous portions and mounds of local fresh vegetables and homemade seasoning. Meats were not overcooked like many places but tender and delicious. Our desserts were similarly impressive with delicious moist chocolate and carrot cake, complimented with tangy berry sorbet. Venue is modern style and nice with open air breezes. Men's bathroom had 2 private stalls (no urinals) and one was broken, so hopefully they get that fixed as definitely had a line. Staff were attentive and friendly, I wish we could go back soon but encourage you to give them a go.
Drove from Dunedin for afternoon tea at Riverstone kitchen and the service was great. Took a little to be seated (when heaps of empty tables) but that is Ok. The wait staff were so friendly and helpful. Good was so GOOD that we were so impressed. I end up bought cook book and heaps of Jams home. Worth the trip.
The food wasn't the best but we did not try much of it. The waiters and cooks were extremely fast and got our food relatively quickly(The place was full)the castle nearby is also really cool. Their also is a Kid's fort made of wood and several go karts along with a play ground
