Iconic Golden Bay pub and live entertainment venue. There's a brewery making decent beer and friendly staff. The food range is limited but it's tasty and on our visit arrived promptly. The pub itself is small but there's heaps of outdoor seating for the summer.

Decades of business and still the best stop for food and beverages past Motueka. Fantastic atmosphere. Friendly staff. Live music. Their bean-based nachos are the best in the world (42 countries traveled; 4 countries lived). A spot of nostalgia for any kiwi whose been through and a testament to simply good quality food and brews. The microbrewery has changed over the decades but to this day brewing a variety of great options for all tastes including the kiwi special, fajoa cider.

We arrived here late, had to wait for an inside seat so chilled outside with a beer and open fire to keep us toasty. Shortly after seated inside with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beer selection was great and my steak was cooked perfectly.

Have you even experienced Golden Bay if you haven't gone to The Muss? Such a great place for lunch, dinner or just for a few drinks in the sun. Gigs, Fortnightly quiz nights and comedy shows. Awesome staff and a beautiful big fireplace for the winter nights The Muss has it all. Highly recommend!

People who work here very friendly. Locals, not so much. They don't like outsiders and aren't afraid to stare you out of the place. Food was pretty good though and cool setup.

The signature food “Seafood chowder” is worth trying to taste! The outside seatings are wonderful. The popular place for local people as well as tourists.

Interesting beers on tap. My husband enjoyed the chili beer. The mussels were good. It was my first time trying them! There was a cozy fire going. The place has a good atmosphere.

The famous Mussel Inn! Really cozy, unique, large indoor and outdoor space, firepit and swings outside. Great local beer. Large proportions of food on strangely small plates. Plays host to interesting bands. Quiz nights on Thursday. I hear that New Years is a fun time 💃🕺! Food is perhaps a little overpriced but it fills you up. Must stop by on your way through!

Incredible food! Loved the atmosphere also and the home brewed beer/cider! Veggie Lasagne was top notch and the fried fish. Nachoes were huge with lots of chips and needed some more filling but are probably more for sharing than a main meal. Steak also needed a steak knife provided. Other wise experience overall was 👌🏻. Staff were lovely and super knowledge about their menu and brews.

Best mussels in golden bay! And really good price too. Beers were really good and brewed by the mussel inn! Lovely patio on a sunny day (was cloudy for me). Worth a stop on the way back from cape farewell to enjoy some delicious food and beer!
